If the thought of quitting cold turkey stops you from saying goodbye to cigarettes forever — don’t worry. We get it.
Nicotine is highly addictive, and trying to quit without any aid may increase the risk of picking up the habit again.
The good news?
There are several alternatives to smoking that can help you quit. These include vapes and electronic cigarettes, Heat-Not-Burn devices, and prescription medications.
We’ll also cover some intriguing FAQs and present a safer smoking alternative — nicotine-free vaping from Cyclone Pods.

The decision to quit smoking is unique to you. So, the alternative or combination of alternatives you pick should align with your specific preferences.
Here are 12 practical alternatives to smoking a traditional cigarette:
Possibly the most popular alternative to smoking, an electronic cigarette operates by releasing nicotine in vapor form. This makes these vaping products an effective alternative to tobacco cigarette smoking.
Here’s the kicker, though:
Vapes and e-cigarettes don't have official FDA approval to help you quit smoking. But, recent research suggests they could be a promising path to quit.
A 2023 Cochrane study found that about 14 out of 100 smokers successfully quit using e-cigarettes, compared to only 6 out of 100 without any stop-smoking aids.
So, why are electronic cigarette and vaping products hailed as effective for quitting?
E cigarette users can control their nicotine strength, allowing them to dial down their nicotine intake and slowly kick the habit. Plus, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recognizes that this controlled approach can assist in managing nicotine withdrawal symptoms during the shift from regular tobacco cigarette use.
Despite being less addictive than traditional smoking, there’s a catch to nicotine vapes. They can still keep you hooked on nicotine and come with health risks familiar to every smoker. These include lung scarring, exposure to secondhand smoke, and organ damage.
Additionally, low-quality, unregulated vape products contain other extremely harmful chemicals like diacetyl (the cause of popcorn lung), formaldehyde, and vitamin E acetate.
Thankfully, companies like Cyclone Pods aim to make vaping safer and more accessible with their nicotine-free vape range.
Looking to test out a nicotine-free vaping device for yourself?
Try the Gust Super from Cyclone Pods. It packs in over 5000 puffs and comes in 15 delicious flavors, including:
Or, if you prefer a longer-lasting vaping device with refillable pods, try out the Thunder Device.
NRT is a method where you replace vaping with other less-harmful nicotine-based products.
With NRT, you’ll still need to put in the effort to quit your vaping addiction. However, it'll take a lot of the weight off your shoulders since you’re not giving up nicotine entirely.
The three most common forms of NRT include:
Many people find quitting smoking or vaping easier when not facing intense withdrawal symptoms and nicotine cravings. According to research from the National Institute of Health, NRTs have proven to be highly effective, with increased chances of success between 50% - 70%.
However, while NRTs satisfy a nicotine craving, the release of nicotine is slow compared to inhaling e-vapor or tobacco smoke. Moreover, NRT methods may have several health risks and side effects, including skin irritation (with patches) and mouth sores (with nicotine gum.)
While nicotine replacement therapy is excellent at diverting nicotine addiction, you may still have the urge to vape since the nicotine addiction itself is not combatted - only replaced.
Heat-not-burn devices are similar to electronic cigarettes, except that instead of vaporizing e-liquids, they slowly heat up a raw tobacco product to extract vapor. No tobacco product is burnt during this process (no combustion).
Dry herb vaporizers use either conduction or convection heating to vaporize the herb. Both methods produce the same outcome — heating herbs at a temperature much lower than combustion (lower than 446°F or 230°C).
Burning some herbs may release harmful byproducts like carbon monoxide, harming the user and the people around them.
While there’s no limit to the herbs you can use in a portable dry herb vaporizer, there are certainly a few fan favorites that steal the spotlight.
Some popular herbs used in dry herb vaporizers include:
Herbal cigarettes have many of the same traits as your traditional cigarette — they are rolled in paper, contain a filter, and are set alight on one end.
The difference?
They don't contain any traditional tobacco product or nicotine.
Instead, they contain one of these herbs and claim to help lessen the urge to smoke:
Although they are a popular smoking cessation aid, recent studies have found that they may cause more harm than good.
A report from the NCBI revealed that herbal cigarettes can produce “notable metabolic problems that increase the risk of several chronic metabolic diseases.” Simply the act of burning plant matter poses health risks.
When plant materials are burned, they typically release harmful chemicals and carcinogens like carbon monoxide, polyaromatics, nicotine, and N-nitrosamines.
Additionally, the herbal cigarette market is far less regulated than conventional cigarette products, implying that the ingredients may not be mentioned at all or are not guaranteed to be safe.
Another common alternative to smoking is smokeless tobacco products like dry snuff, chewing tobacco, nicotine pouches, dissolvables, and snus. They do not need to be burnt to release nicotine.
These products are typically inhaled in powder form or held in the mouth to release nicotine, which still gives the kick that cigarette smokers crave.
The pros of smokeless tobacco use are that there’s no need for combustion, removing the risk of inhaling potential carcinogens.
The cons?
Cigarette smokers still get their nicotine addiction fed — but that’s the least of your worries!
According to a report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the potential oral health risks of smokeless tobacco products like chewing tobacco and nicotine pouches include:
Fortunately, there are other alternatives with fewer risks to your oral health.
A more regulated approach to leaning away from cigarette smoking is to take prescription medications.
Let’s take a look at two popular brands - Bupropion SR and Varenicline.
While medications might work well for most, some prefer less invasive methods. That’s what we’ll discuss next.
Moving away from tobacco cigarette use is an emotionally and physically demanding task. Doing it on your own only makes the process more difficult. So, people who attempt to kick the habit often seek out others to support them and keep them accountable.
There are three popular methods:
If support circles aren't your thing, there are a few popular alternative therapies to help you get off smoking:
When you stop smoking, nicotine withdrawal is a given. But that’s only half the battle. Oral fixation will present itself as a formidable foe and will keep you reaching for things to put in your mouth.
When this is the case, why not replace a bad habit with a healthy one?
Feasting healthy snacks like carrots and fruit will not only help ease your oral fixation but will also re-wire your brain into making better, healthier choices when you get cravings.
Other snacks you could try are:
Guided meditation, gratitude, breathing exercises, yoga — these are all extremely effective mindfulness practices that you can use to fortify your mind during testing times.
Being mindful allows you to detach from your experiences and focus on the importance of your decisions.
When done right (and consistently), you’ll emerge stronger than your cravings.
Being mindful every day becomes a lifestyle, and when paired with exercise, it can raise your standard of living significantly.
It’s well known that exercise releases endorphins that help reduce the physical and mental cravings from nicotine addiction. Additionally, keeping active in itself will distract you from cravings.
Great ways to stay active include hiking, going for walks, picking up a sport, etc.
Every second that you stay busy with a task is one less second you spend thinking about cravings and urges. So, find ways to keep your hands and mind busy, especially when you have free time and nothing else to do.
Solve a puzzle, write a short story, draw, or bake your favorite dessert. You can play video games, go to an amusement park, or play mini-golf, etc.
Positive activities like these will boost your mood and form a healthy relationship with yourself.
If all else fails, go find tasks around the house, like washing your car, organizing your closet, or rearranging your bedroom. Completing activities like these will give you a sense of achievement, which will encourage you to tackle more intimidating challenges (like quitting cigarettes).
In case you have any unanswered questions, let’s cover them now.
Here are the answers to some other queries you may have.
Nicotine is known to cause a variety of health problems and side effects. Studies from the National Institute of Health show that nicotine can hamper brain development in young adults under the age of 25.
That aside, nicotine can cause a variety of other harmful side effects and health risks, including:
When you decide to quit smoking, understanding the common nicotine withdrawal symptoms is crucial. These symptoms can vary, but being aware of what to expect can help you navigate this challenging but rewarding journey.
Here are the most common nicotine withdrawal symptoms:
When you quit smoking and turn to vaping, you're making a healthier choice for your lungs and overall well-being. Public Health England backs this up, stating that vaping is 95% less harmful than smoking.
Think about it: Traditional cigarettes have about 7000 harmful chemicals, with 70 causing cancer. Whereas vaping only has around 2000 chemicals in its aerosol – way less.
Plus, vaping doesn't put those around you at the same risk as smoking does. Cigarette smoke is tough on bystanders, but e-cigarette aerosol is much gentler.
One more thing that makes vaping safer?
It doesn't have two harmful chemicals found in cigarette smoke – carbon monoxide and tar. Breathing in carbon monoxide messes with how your body uses oxygen, and that's not good for your brain and heart.
And what’s safer than vaping nicotine e-cigarettes? Nicotine-free vapes, of course.
While there are plenty of vaping alternatives on the market, most of them have downsides, especially when containing nicotine.
Unless you decide to quit vaping entirely, or at least remove nicotine and other harmful chemicals from the picture, you’re not making much progress in the health department.
So, if you don’t want to give up smoking just yet but want to live a healthier, more fulfilling life, try nicotine-free vaping from Cyclone Pods right away.
Wellness vapes, especially vitamin vapes, are the latest craze taking over the ever-evolving vaping scene.
These vapes boast benefits like mood enhancement and increased energy levels. However, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not verified any wellness claims. In fact, the agency warns such unregulated products might actually do more harm than good, posing several side effects and health risks.
So, why are wellness vapes so popular?
And what’s the truth behind their marketing?
In this article, we’ll answer all those questions and more. We’ll also give you a safer alternative to wellness vapes — Cyclone Pods nicotine-free vapes.

Wellness vapes are electronic smoking devices that deliver vitamins and supplements — like vitamins B12 and C, CBD oil, and melatonin — directly into the lungs.
Just like regular e-cigarettes and vapes, they may also contain other ingredients and chemicals to facilitate the vaping mechanism, enhance flavor, or provide stimulation. These ingredients may include diacetyl, vitamin E acetate, and propylene glycol.
Unlike regular nicotine vapes, wellness vapes don’t typically contain nicotine. Instead, they contain vitamins, minerals, and supplements as their main ingredients.
However, unregulated vape brands are known to exclude ingredients from their labels – so there’s a possibility that there's some nicotine in there, too.
And, unlike nicotine vapes, wellness vapes emphasize that they promote “healthy habits” in a convenient form. This is a key aspect of their marketing.
But note that there are nicotine-free vapes as well. The best-quality ones (like Cyclone Pods’ nicotine-free vapes) are guaranteed to be free from nicotine and other harmful chemicals.
In a vitamin vape, for instance, vitamins, minerals, and supplements are infused into e-liquid (composed of vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol). This e-liquid is then vaporized and inhaled directly into the lungs.
When vitamins and minerals in vape juice are manipulated, heated, and inhaled (especially when they're not intended to be), they might lose their benefits and could end up posing severe risks instead. (We’ll tell you about that in a bit.)
Now, the irony is that despite sounding too good to be true, wellness vapes have been selling like wildfire since the introduction of vitamin vapes into the US market in 2014.
Let’s find out why.
Wellness vapes have surged in popularity thanks to their highly effective marketing tactics.
The strongest target market for wellness vape companies is people with vitamin deficiencies (or at least those who think they do, thanks to clever marketing tactics).
Consider this:
92% of adults in the US have at least one vitamin deficiency - usually in calcium, iron, vitamin D, vitamin A, magnesium, and iodine. Other common deficiencies are vitamin C and Vitamin B12 (Incidentally, these happen to be best-seller product lines in the wellness vape market.)
Most of these deficiencies can be rectified with simple diet changes or a simple over-the-counter dietary supplement or two from your local pharmacist. These methods of vitamin and dietary supplement delivery are FDA-approved and don’t usually pose any public health risks.
But, everyone is looking for new, creative, and convenient ways to elevate their health.
Wellness vapes promise to do just that, which is one big reason why they’re so popular.
With a few quick puffs, you would be able to inhale a multitude of vitamins, minerals, and supplements that cure a wide range of deficiencies and conditions – if all their claims were true!
Low energy levels?
There’s a vitamin B12 vape for that.
Can't sleep?
Yep, melatonin vapes have got your back.
Anxiety?
“Try our CBD oil or chamomile vapes!”
Quick fixes like these are sure to seem enticing, especially to the young adult market who increasingly suffer from mental health conditions like anxiety and insomnia.
But here’s the deal:
The marketing behind these so-called “wellness” vapes focuses mainly on creating a sense of fear or urgency around vitamin deficiencies — instead of addressing them in a medically safe manner.
Let’s look at the risks that come with this unhealthy trend.
While the benefits of supplements like vitamin C, vitamin B12, and melatonin are well-known, inhaling them directly (and at extremely high dosage levels) can pose severe risks and side effects.
Let’s take a closer look.
Commonly found in animal meats and some dairy products, vitamin B12 plays a significant role in overall brain function and brain cell development.
The recommended daily intake limit of Vitamin B12 is 2.4 micrograms (MCG) and up to 2.6 mcg for pregnant women. There’s no debate that when ingested via animal products or FDA-approved supplements at the recommended doses, vitamin B12 can have some incredible benefits.
However, inhaling Vitamin B12 in vape juice, especially in repeated sessions, can lead to acute levels in the body. While there is no toxic threshold for vitamin B12 in the body, acute levels of it can lead to:
This applies to supplements approved by the FDA. Synthetic or hyper-concentrated vitamin B12 levels used in these vapes can have more severe side effects.
Not convinced yet? Don’t take our word for it.
The FDA itself has already called out industry-leading wellness vape brands for violating the federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. The FDA also declare their products unsafe and state that their marketing tactics are deceitful and misguiding.
In the FDA’s review, they mention that these vitamin B12 vapes pose the risk of laryngospasm or bronchospasm and may be toxic to the airways and organs of users.
Another staple in every diet, vitamin C helps boost the immune system and enhances brain function. Found largely in citrus fruits, berries, and many vegetables, a well-balanced diet should leave you with sufficient levels of vitamin C.
The average daily limit of Vitamin C for adults is 2000mg a day (1,800 mg for young adults). While an additional supplement of Vitamin C is proven to be beneficial, taking too much vitamin C can lead to several unpleasant side effects, such as:
To make matters worse, acute levels of vitamin C have been shown to increase mortality rates in those with sepsis — a life-threatening medical condition caused by the body's extreme response to an infection.
The problem is: When it comes to e cigarette use, there's no proven way to measure how much of the ingredients in the vape you inhale and at what levels. This poses the likely risk of ingesting vitamins and minerals far above the daily recommended limits.
CBD and THC — the two common compounds found in the cannabis plant, are popular ingredients in wellness vapes for their natural ability to reduce pain and inflammation and help reduce the severity of mental health conditions like anxiety.
However, these compounds are highly regulated or even illegal (in THC’s case) in the US. Unsurprisingly, the sale and purchase of products containing these compounds are strictly regulated or prohibited in many states.
That aside, the risks of vaping THC or CBD oil (often mixed with thickening agents like diacetyl or vitamin E acetate) can be detrimental to your health.
Common side effects of vaping a THC or CBD vape include:
In rare cases, deaths have been reported from the use of unregulated cannabis vape products.
Essential oils have a wide variety of functions and benefits, from relieving stress and encouraging sleep to even treating fungal infections. Being distilled concentrations of plant matter, essential oils are very potent and typically used topically or in air diffusers.
When in air diffusers, essential oils are diluted with water, and they aren't heated or burned but pressurized into a fine mist.
However, when heated and inhaled directly into the lungs, they produce less-than-beneficial results.
Studies have shown that vaping essential oils can cause:
Caffeine is a stimulant and addictive. In small doses, caffeine can make you focused, increase alertness, and, to a moderate degree, improve cardiovascular health.
However, in larger doses, caffeine poses multiple health risks. The dangers of vaping caffeine lie not only in its extreme concentration but also in the difficulty of gauging how much you’ve ingested.
This drastically increases the risk of acute caffeine levels in the body, which can lead to:
Melatonin vapes allow you to inhale vaporized melatonin — a natural hormone that your brain produces to regulate your sleep-wake cycle.
The body releases melatonin in dark conditions (like post-sunset) to prepare you for better sleep, and melatonin helps to kick this process into gear faster. In other words, melatonin influences your body’s natural circadian rhythm and plays a crucial role in maintaining a healthy sleep cycle.
So, when do you actually need a melatonin supplement?
Doctors usually prescribe external melatonin supplementation to treat sleep disorders and insomnia. These melatonin supplements typically include a melatonin gummy, pill, or patch and are often fortified with additional vitamins.
However, melatonin vaporizer products are not approved by the US FDA as a dietary supplement or sleep aid and are largely unregulated. This makes it difficult to gauge the quality of these sleep aid products and the ingredients they contain.
You could end up with a low-quality product with sub-par or even harmful ingredients. It can worsen your sleep problem, and excessive use of melatonin in high doses can invite other side effects, such as:
Being largely unregulated, wellness vapes possess the risk of containing nicotine and many other harmful chemicals, such as:
It’s clear that without legitimate testing and regulation, wellness vape companies are putting volatile and dangerous product ranges on the market.
It’s easy to understand why the FDA has declared wellness vapes not only ineffective but also unproven in their claims.
In fact, the agency is making an active effort to debunk the unproven health claims made by wellness vape companies, such as them being “free from side effects” and “beneficial for overall health.”
Now, what if you want to vape without the unnecessary side effects of these unregulated ingredients or nicotine addiction?
Go for a high-quality, non-toxic, nicotine-free vaping product from Cyclone Pods.
Cyclone Pods is a US-based vape company specializing in high-quality vapes, which are free from harmful substances like:

Still have questions about melatonin vapes?
Let’s tackle them.
Here are the answers to some common questions about vapes.
Simply put, look out for:
The truth is that the only way to mitigate the risk of vaping is to limit the number of harmful ingredients in your vapor.
There’s hardly any evidence that wellness vapes can help you quit smoking cigarette products. Besides, some of them might contain nicotine, which will keep you hooked.
In theory, non-nicotine wellness vapes might help with oral fixation, but their unregulated nature and harmful ingredients may offset the benefit completely.
Even NRTs (nicotine replacement therapy) are likely to keep you hooked, as they, too, contain high levels of nicotine (which could likely worsen nicotine addiction.
Your best bet to quit cigarette use?
Give nicotine-free vaping a shot.
Although research on wellness vapes is limited, initial studies suggest these devices may interact with certain prescription medications and medical treatments.
For instance, vapes containing nicotine are known to interact with 31 known drugs and supplements, including Klonopin, Prozac, and Tenor.
CBD has also been known to interact with other prescription drugs. According to a study from the NCBI, CBD (and the terpenes within it) can reduce the efficiency of anti-epileptic drugs, opioid analgesics, and antidepressants.
The main compounds in cannabis (CBD, THC, and terpenes) have also been found to interact with common substances like alcohol and acetaminophen.
Vapes of all kinds have a strict age restriction of 18 years and older. This applies even if vapes do not contain any nicotine.
While the unproven health claims made by wellness vaping device brands seem like a dream come true, the facts declared by the FDA confirm them actually to be nightmares.
The fact is that wellness vapes are untested, unregulated, and unapproved. They expose you to other harmful and addictive chemicals — like nicotine, diacetyl, and concentrated vitamin B12.
Instead, go for a supplement and nicotine-free vaping product for worry-free vaping sessions. Taking the precautions to expose yourself to as few chemicals as possible when vaping ensures you get the most out of your vaping experience.

The act of vaping by itself won’t make you tired.
The more important question here is - what are you vaping?
Studies show that vaping high levels of nicotine is associated with tiredness and other side effects.
Vaping cannabis?
Well, research suggests that vaping cannabis too can induce drowsiness and fatigue.
So, why does vaping nicotine or other substances induce fatigue?
When you vape nicotine (either in freebase, nicotine salt, or pure herb form), it causes your brain to release adrenaline, creating a buzz of pleasure and energy in your body. However, this buzz fades away moments later, leaving you with a feeling of tiredness.
Moreover, if you regularly vape nicotine and then don’t do it for a while, that can cause tiredness too.
How?
If you go too long without nicotine, you may start experiencing one of the most common nicotine withdrawal symptoms – a troubled sleep cycle. Consequently, a lack of proper sleep can make you weary.
Bottomline — Higher the nicotine strength in your vape juice, the greater your chances of not having a deep sleep.
It’s also commonly seen in people attempting to quit smoking or break free of nicotine addiction.
In fact, nicotine intake (among adults and in any young person) has been associated with insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea.
Additionally, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that nicotine exposure can harm young adult brain development.
According to the National Institutes of Health, there’s a strong link between a lack of oxygen and feelings of fatigue in the human body.
How does it matter in the case of vaping?
If you take excessively deep draws and hold them in too long, you could feel tired later as you’re not getting enough oxygen between every inhale.
Here’s a pro tip for all vapers (especially first-timers):
Don’t take large or back-to-back hits of your vape pen in a single session. Your body may not get the necessary oxygen, leading to fatigue.
Unregulated vaping e-liquids may contain harmful ingredients and adulterants that can make you feel dizzy and tired. These include vitamin E acetate, diacetyl, diethylene glycol, and other toxic substances.
The worst part?
Toxic ingredients like diethylene glycol have been associated with systemic and neurologic complications in the body, including coma, seizures, and kidney failure. And most of the other harmful chemicals mentioned above increase lung damage risks.
That’s why buying your electronic cigarette or any vaping device from reliable manufacturers who don’t tamper with the vape juice ingredients is important.
But what if you replace your vaping e-liquids with nicotine-free alternatives like essential oils and melatonin?
Vaping essential oils like chamomile can also cause drowsiness and other unwanted side effects.
In fact, when heated over 150° to 180° Fahrenheit (65.5° to 82° Celsius), some essential oils release carbon monoxide and other harmful gases.
Similarly, alternative products, like melatonin vapes, can affect your sleep cycle, causing tiredness.
Now, let’s go over some ways to evade that feeling of tiredness after a vaping session.
Make these handy tips a part of your vaping habit:
If your sleep cycle is affected or you're tired from vaping, it’s best to avoid a nicotine, melatonin, or cannabis vaping device.
Instead, using nicotine-free vaping products will allow you to enjoy vaping without succumbing to the risks associated with nicotine intake, such as lung damage and sleep apnea.
Long story short – keeping nicotine-infused products at bay will help improve your sleep quality in the long run.
And when your body gets adequate rest, you’re less likely to feel tired.
Eager to try a nicotine-free vaping device?
Opt for Cyclone Pods — a California-based vape brand that only uses premium ingredients in its vaping products and encourages customers to develop a healthy vaping habit.
Cyclone vapes are free of tobacco, nicotine, vitamin E acetate, diacetyl, and other nasty ingredients.
Kickstart your nicotine-free journey with Gust Super — a long-lasting disposable vape device by Cyclone Pods, delivering over 5000 puffs!
It comes in a wide variety of flavors, including Mint, Menthol, Watermelon, Strawberry Banana, Mango, and more.
Looking for an eco-friendly option?
Explore Cyclone Pods' Surge Collection — a pod vape with a rechargeable battery designed to reduce electronic waste and offer over 6000 puffs!
It comes in five unique flavors, including Strawberry, Mint, and Blue Raspberry.
You can also pair your Surge device with 13 different Surge pod flavors like Watermelon Raspberry, Blue Razz, Mint, Strawberry, and more.
To fight fatigue post vaping, stop using your vape device temporarily (maybe for a week or so) or take a longer break between your vaping sessions. Observe how your body responds to this hiatus.
If you’ve been a heavy vaper, you may experience some nicotine withdrawal symptoms too, during the long break. However, remind yourself of the benefits of cutting down nicotine and keep your determination intact.
Now, here’s the good part after you overcome the nicotine withdrawal symptoms:
You may be able to drift into a deep sleep more easily, all thanks to the much-needed break from nicotine.
In fact, when you decrease your frequency of vaping, your body gets more time to adjust to the nicotine concentration.
Sometimes, dehydration can be a sneaky cause behind your headaches and tiredness.
Dehydration can disrupt your sleep pattern and contribute to symptoms like dry mouth and loss of appetite. Consequently, you feel lethargic.
The simple solution?
Drink plenty of water and natural fruit-based juices.
Since nicotine intake of any form is associated with poor sleep outcomes, it’s best to vape less in the evenings, especially before your bedtime.
What about those late-night nicotine cravings?
Try chewing on carrots, apples, or other celery to manage your urge for vaping nicotine.
Not ready to give up the joy of vaping?
Just go nicotine free with Cyclone Pods vapes. They will keep your mouth engaged and may help you tackle the cravings to vape nicotine.
Also, try to skip a few late-night gatherings and activities that may increase your chances of indulging in any tobacco product.
While vaping and screen time aren’t interrelated, combining these activities can affect sleep quality.
How?
Scrolling through social media posts or watching videos online keeps the brain engaged, causing sleep delays. Additionally, the blue light emitted from your smartphones encourages you to stay awake and affects your regular sleep cycle.
So, spending a lot of time hooked to your mobile devices after vaping can wreak havoc on your sleep, leading to increased feelings of tiredness.
Distract yourself with some physical activity when the nicotine cravings hit you hard and you want to vape more frequently.
Even going for a long walk can help take your mind off and manage your nicotine withdrawal symptoms.
Moreover, physical exercise like jogging, swimming, or rope climbing helps reduce stress and improve your mental health.
If you feel tiredness after your vaping session, take a quick shower. It can help you feel more refreshed and shake off that drowsy feeling.
So, your vape juice has low nicotine strength and you’ve increased the time interval between your vaping sessions.
Still feel tired?
Consult your doctor for the correct diagnosis of your problem.
They can also help you with the right medications if you are experiencing nicotine withdrawal symptoms.
Got more questions related to your vaping habit?
Find answers to some of the most common questions about vaping and how it affects your energy levels.
No, vaping as such doesn’t make you sleep more than usual.
However, vaping too much nicotine or vaping a few hours before going to bed sets off a vicious cycle of events where your sleep cycle is totally disrupted.
So, any sleep deprivation during the night may cause you to feel more lethargic and sleepy during the daytime.
Vaping high levels of nicotine can negatively affect your health and lead to:
The average tobacco cigarette contains about 10 to 12 mg of nicotine – the ingredient responsible for triggering tiredness.
On the other hand, a nicotine vape contains 0.5 to 15.4 mg of nicotine.
And a nicotine-free vape, of course, contains zero nicotine.
Since nicotine plays a major role in inducing fatigue, smoking a traditional cigarette will lead to more exhaustion than the others.
Using nicotine-free vapes helps you completely avoid nicotine exposure and nicotine withdrawal symptoms, including fatigue.
Did you know?
Try using nicotine salts, patches, or gums.
It’s part of the nicotine replacement therapy that can help you satiate your nicotine cravings and manage withdrawal symptoms once you quit smoking tobacco.
Vaping high levels of nicotine can cause tiredness, irritability, and a bunch of other problems in the long run.

Nearly 70% of adult smokers in the US want to kick the habit. But quitting cigarettes can be a daunting task due to the addictive nature of nicotine.
So, what is the best way to stop smoking?
The truth is, what works best varies from person to person.
Here's the good part: There are many options, including electronic cigarettes and vapes, nicotine replacement therapies, nicotine reduction, and more.
We’ll also share seven helpful tips to manage withdrawal symptoms and delve deeper into the changes you experience when you quit smoking.

|
Look, the journey to quit smoking is personal. So, the method or combination of methods you choose should align with your unique needs and preferences.
Here are seven effective ways to kick the habit:
Electronic cigarettes (or e-cigarettes) and vapes deliver nicotine through vapor, offering a viable alternative to traditional smoking.
But here’s the thing:
Vapes aren't FDA-approved as official smoking cessation aids. However, recent research shows a promising path to quitting.
For instance, a 2023 Cochrane study notes that e-cigarettes helped around 14 out of 100 smokers quit for the long haul, compared to just 6 out of 100 who tried to quit without any stop-smoking aids.
So, what makes electronic cigs and vapes an effective stop-smoking method?
E-cigarettes allow you to control your nicotine strength. This way, you can tailor your nicotine intake to your needs and gradually reduce your nicotine dependency.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), this controlled intake can help manage nicotine withdrawal symptoms, easing your transition from regular cigarettes.
The downside of using nicotine vapes?
These vapes, although less addictive than traditional smoking, can still keep you hooked on nicotine. Additionally, nicotine vaping comes with serious health risks, like asthma, lung scarring, and exposure to secondhand smoke.
Don’t worry, though. We have a solution for you — Nicotine-free vapes.
Zero nicotine vapes let you enjoy every aspect of vaping without the harmful side effects of nicotine.
Or, if you’re looking for a pod system with a vape device, charger, and single-flavor pod, the Thunder Starter Kit is for you!
Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products are designed to give you a controlled dose of nicotine. This makes it easier to manage withdrawal symptoms when you're ready to quit smoking or vaping. NRTs are FDA-approved as a smoking cessation aid.
The five common NRT products include:
Keep in mind that NRT products come in varying strengths, so it's essential to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the right nicotine strength for you.
Interestingly, the 2023 Cochrane study states that combining two types of NRTs is notably more effective than using a single form of NRT.
For instance, you can combine the nicotine patch, which provides a steady nicotine supply throughout the day, with faster-acting NRT products like nicotine gum or lozenges. These faster-acting NRTs give you a quick dose of nicotine, making them handy for tackling sudden cravings or triggers.
The upside of using NRTs?
NRTs can be less addictive compared to nicotine vaping or smoking. This is because they deliver nicotine to your brain in a slower, controlled manner. This allows you to reduce your nicotine intake slowly and manage withdrawal symptoms.
If you're a heavy smoker, your NRT plan will start with a more potent nicotine dose, gradually decreasing it until you're nicotine-free.
But, there are still some risks involved.
Since NRT involves nicotine intake, there's a continued risk of long-term toxicity and nicotine addiction.
Some common side effects of NRT products may include:
Research also suggests that nicotine gums and lozenges may increase the risk of oral cancer.
If you seek a nicotine alternative that doesn't replicate the act of smoking, prescription medication can be a practical option.
These oral medications alleviate nicotine withdrawal symptoms and cravings for both vapers and smokers.
Here are three frequently prescribed medications used as smoking alternatives:
Both Zyband and Chantix are FDA-approved. However, Nortriptyline is not an FDA-approved medication for smoking cessation.
But here’s the kicker:
These medicines can have potential side effects, including:
So always consult a healthcare professional before taking these medications, as they can lead to serious adverse effects.
Did you know? According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, smoking is a major contributor to heart disease, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and more.
Behavioral strategies involve specific techniques and approaches aimed at changing smoking-related behaviors.
These include coping strategies, like identifying triggers that lead to smoking, and behavioral changes, like replacing smoking with healthier habits.
Similarly, support entails a range of resources such as counseling, support groups, and self-help materials.
According to the CDC, counseling offers essential guidance for those looking to kick the habit. A quit-smoking counselor can help you create a personalized plan and prepare you to tackle the challenges of quitting.
The CDC also offers a free stop smoking service that provides confidential coaching via a telephone quit line (800-QUIT-NOW).
Additionally, you can join support groups and counseling sessions with others striving to quit. This can provide the motivation and guidance needed for success.
Self-help materials, which include books, apps, and online resources, can offer guidance at your own pace.
The good news?
You can use these methods with other smoking-cessation aids, such as NRTs or nicotine-free vapes, for quicker results.
One of the more challenging methods, quitting cold turkey, means cutting nicotine completely and immediately without any medications or support.
While quitting cold turkey offers the benefit of achieving nicotine independence without using aids or medications, it has a notable drawback.
If you choose this method, you must set a specific ‘quit day.’ From that day forward, you rely on your willpower and commitment to kick the habit. Going cold turkey can be intimidating, especially with nicotine withdrawals.
Thankfully, you can use a variety of effective tips to help you quit tobacco cigarettes for good.
If you're not quite ready to part with the hand-to-mouth ritual of smoking, the nicotine reduction method offers a gradual approach to help you make the shift.
Here's how it works:
Once you successfully smoke fewer cigarettes daily, you can switch to safer alternatives, like nicotine-free vapes, to satisfy that oral fixation.

Recognizing and avoiding your triggers can boost your chances of stopping smoking successfully.
Physical exercise offers a healthy alternative to smoking and can effectively reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings.
But, how does it work?
Exercise triggers the release of endorphins, which improve mood and play a vital role in supporting mental health. Physical activity can help alleviate the anxiety, irritability, and depression associated with nicotine withdrawal.
Continuously reinforcing the benefits of quitting smoking is a powerful motivator.
When you quit smoking, you can experience:

Do you constantly find yourself biting your nails or chewing gum? Or perhaps you have the constant oral craving to have a cig in your mouth.
These habits might be more than just quirks — they could be manifestations of oral fixation deeply rooted in your early childhood.
While there are signs of inappropriate oral behavior to clue you in about the condition, oral fixation can also manifest in your personality over time if left unchecked.
Though oral fixation has some associated risks, you can adopt a few behavioral changes to help resolve it (including using safer alternatives like nicotine-free vapes.)
Let’s dive in to know more!

Oral fixation is an obsessive and compulsive behavior connected to the oral cavity (mouth). It manifests as a constant need to bite, chew, or suck something.
The relentless desire to keep the mouth engaged is a means to self-soothe and release nervous energy through sensory input.
Sigmund Freud, an Austrian neurologist, developed the theory of psychosexual development. It refers to the five stages of ‘human development’ that infants go through. During each stage, the child seeks pleasure through different erogenous zones.
Why is this important?
During the first stage of psychosexual development — the oral stage — an infant's oral fixation usually becomes the outlet for pleasure seeking energies. This is typically formed from a newborn’s natural desire for oral exploration, such as teething, thumb sucking, and tasting new things.
But the thing is, while the oral phase of exploration in early childhood is normal, specific conflicts during this fragile time could manifest as oral fixation in older children and adults.
What conflicts? - you might ask.
These can include:
This ties deeper into our understanding of psychoanalytic theory, where our childhood experiences shape the foundation of our behaviors and personalities as adults.
Next, let’s look at the signs when dealing with oral fixation.
Here are seven key signs that indicate you may be battling maladaptive oral fixation (obsessive, unhealthy oral behavior):
You should be aware of the potential risks of the condition, too.
Here are the likely dangers that stem from oral fixations:
Given the potential dangers associated with oral fixation, it’s crucial to know of ways to remedy your condition and help manage it better.
While there are multiple ways to handle oral fixation, these three are the easiest ones to adopt:
If your chosen oral stimulation fix is an addiction like smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol, you are at risk of several severe and chronic health conditions. Instead, you can manage your urges by redirecting your oral fixation toward safer alternatives. Some of these include:
A. Nicotine-Free Vapes
If you’re a chain smoker struggling with oral fixation, perhaps it’s time to switch to vaping and nicotine-free vapes.
But where do you find such vapes?
At Cyclone Pods, of course!
What’s even better?
Nicotine-free vapes are the perfect way to get started with the vaping experience and an effective alternative to quitting cigarettes and other nicotine products.
While nicotine-free Cyclone Pods won’t help you overcome oral fixation, they can be great choices to manage your condition without worrying about ruining your health.
Ready to make a positive impact on your health?
Check out Cyclone Pods' Surge Collection — an eco-friendly pod vape with a rechargeable battery, providing over 6000 puffs! Check out the delicious range, including Strawberry, Mint, Blue Razz Ice, and Watermelon Raspberry.

The best part?
You can pair your device with any of the 13 mouth-watering Surge Pod flavors, including Mint, Menthol, Watermelon, Strawberry Banana, and Mango.
B. Chewing on hard candy or lozenge, vegetable sticks, toothpicks.
Another harmless way to manage your need for oral sensory input is to chew on a lozenge or hard candy. You can also munch on vegetable sticks like celery to beat your smoking addiction.
C. Drinking water.
Staying hydrated keeps your lips and mouth moist and occupied, which can be a healthy substitute for cigarette smoking or other harmful methods of stimulation.
Several psychotherapeutic approaches can help resolve oral fixation to a certain extent, including:
Often, oral fixation is a way to cope with anxiety. A non-intrusive way to handle such fixation is through exercise and meditation. Breathing exercises can calm your anxious thoughts and resolve the constant need for oral stimuli.
Still have questions?
Let’s answer them as well.
Here are answers to other common questions you might have regarding oral fixation:
Oral fixation can manifest as personality traits in a variety of ways:
People with autism often have to deal with sensory processing disorders, which can result in persistent chewing habits and other forms of oral fixation. In this case, oral fixation manifests at birth and doesn’t stem from conflicts during the oral stage of development.
Children and teens with ADHD show signs of oral fixation as stimming (repetitive chewing behavior) to stimulate their mouth. The condition can be managed through therapy without developing into a negative oral behavior like smoking or alcoholism in adulthood.
While an oral habit like smoking can be challenging to give up completely, you can adopt one of the different ways to remedy your situation and make it manageable.
If you’re open to vaping, you can try nicotine-free vapes for some guilt-free oral stimulation.
To understand how a nicotine-free vaping product can help you manage your unhealthy oral fixation habit, explore Cyclone Pods. We offer a variety of high-quality nicotine-free vapes in several mouth-watering flavors to help you manage your fixation using healthier alternatives.
A vape can last anywhere from a couple of days up to a few years!
How?
Its longevity depends on several factors, like the frequency of use, quality of materials and vape juice, and overall maintenance.
Most importantly, it depends on the type of device you choose.
By understanding these factors, you can get the most value from your vaping gear.
Let’s look at how long vapes last and uncover the factors affecting their durability. We’ll also compare the staying power of vapes to the traditional cigarette box.
Along the way, we'll introduce you to Cyclone Pods, a safe, nicotine-free vaping choice that offers vapes with rechargeable batteries and impressive puff counts.

Different vaping devices offer different puff counts and overall features, which affect the longevity of a vape.
Here are the average lifespans of two common types of vape devices:
A disposable vape is designed for convenience. It comes pre-filled and charged by the manufacturer. So once the vape juice runs out, you throw the disposable vape pen away.
You can also find rechargeable disposable vapes or electronic cigarettes on the market. These can be recharged a few times over (till the vape juice lasts) to give you more mileage.
Now:
To find out how long your disposable vape device will last, first check the puff count on the package.
For example, most single-use disposable vape pens contain up to 600 puffs.
Once you determine the puff range, you must consider how often the device is used daily.
With these daily puff averages in mind, can you calculate the daily spend on a disposable pen?
Assume it’s a 600-puff range disposable vape pen, which costs $5.
Looking for a safe & long-lasting disposable vape?
Look no further than the nicotine-free Gust Super vape by Cyclone Pods! It has a rechargeable battery that ensures a massive 5,000 puff capacity. This means you always have a puff at hand, saving you from those hurried trips to the vape shop.
The Gust Super vape is available in 11 delicious flavors, including:
You can charge and reuse rechargeable vapes over multiple cycles, making them a cost-effective and eco-friendly vaping solution. Unlike rechargeable disposable vapes, you can extend their lifespan further by refilling or replacing the vape juice.
They come in two varieties:
Prefilled vapes, often called closed-system vapes, feature vape cartridges or pods with a set amount of vape liquid of a specific flavor. Once the cartridges or pods are empty, you must replace them.
These regular pre-filled pods usually hold around 2ml of e-liquid.
Assuming that 2ml of e-liquid equates to 600 puffs, here's how long a pre-filled vape pod can last based on the frequency of use:
Considering this, you can determine the expense associated with the lifespan of the 2ml vape juice pod, which costs about $7:
With proper care, your rechargeable pod vape should last several months, even a year, or more — provided it’s a good quality device.
But what if we tell you that there are pre-filled pods with much higher e-liquid capacities and puff counts that can last you for much longer?
For instance, the Surge vapes from Cyclone Pods hold 15ml of pre-filled nicotine-free e-liquid, providing an impressive 6000 puffs. This means a Surge vape could last you over 40 days if you’re a moderate user.
The eco-friendly vape is available in 13 delectable flavors, including:
A refillable vape, also known as an open-system vape, has a tank or refillable pod you can fill with your choice of vape liquid. This allows you to pick your desired flavors and nicotine levels, ranging from 0mg to 12mg.
Additionally, e-liquids for refillable vape pens come in various bottle sizes to suit your vaping habits and preferences. The common sizes include:
These e-liquid capacities provide varying puff counts. For example, a 10ml bottle of vape juice generally provides up to 3000 puffs.
Based on this, you can calculate how long the vape is going to last:
A bottle of 10ml e-liquid usually costs around $5. This means the daily cost per vaper is:
If your refillable vape kit has a built-in battery, it can last about a year, similar to vape pod systems. The battery's charge-holding ability determines how long the device lasts.
On the other hand, with vapes featuring a replaceable battery, you can extend the device's life by replacing the battery when needed. Vape batteries in such devices usually last between 6 to 12 months.
What’s more?
The lifespan of a refillable pod vape depends on the vape coil. The coil is a small heating element responsible for vaporizing the e-liquid. It’s time to replace the coil when you notice a decline in flavor quality. Usually, the vape coil lasts for several days before needing a replacement.
Besides the puff count, the lifespan of a vape depends on factors like the quality of the e-liquid used, how the device is stored, maintenance, and more:
A vape’s battery capacity is a primary factor that affects how long your device will last.
For disposable vape pens that can't be recharged, once the battery dies, the device becomes unusable. Disposable vaping products typically house lithium-ion batteries with capacities ranging from 400mAh to 750mAh.
Most vape brands provide the battery capacity in the product description. Usually, the vape pen battery outlasts the liquid. So, check the battery capacity before you buy one to avoid low-quality batteries that die before you finish the vaping liquid.
If you opt for rechargeable disposable vapes, they usually include a charging cable and can be recharged and used again.
When you overcharge your vape, it can seriously mess with its lifespan.
Firstly, it heats the vape pen battery, and that's not great. This heat stresses the battery cells, leading to permanent damage. Over time, your battery won't hold charge as well, and you'll find yourself charging it more often.
Safety is a big concern here, too. Overcharging can sometimes trigger a rare but pretty scary thing called "thermal runaway," which can lead to fires or explosions, especially if you're using cheaper or knock-off batteries.
And it's not just the battery that gets the heat treatment – other parts of your vape can also get damaged, which might make it act up or even stop working.
On top of that, there's the risk of your battery leaking or rupturing, which can release hazardous electrolytes, including carbon monoxide.
The average draw length for most vapers is between 3-5 seconds. However, this depends on your vaping preference.
Longer inhales require more liquid with each puff, emptying the tank faster. So, strike a balance between how often you vape and how long you inhale to make your vaping liquid last.
Lower-quality vape juices can significantly impact your vaping experience and the vape’s longevity. Here's how:
To avoid this, opt for a vape that uses high-quality ingredients. Cyclone Pods offers vaping products free from:
Not sure which vape from Cyclone Pods’ amazing range is best for your needs?
Here’s a quick rundown:
A larger cartridge (or vape cart) typically holds more e-liquid, which means you can enjoy more puffs before replacing/re-filling it, making the disposable vape last longer.
This can also provide a more consistent vaping experience because you won't have to refill as often.
Exposing a disposable device to extreme cold can lead to slower start-up and more power consumption, which might shorten the battery life.
Your device is best stored at room temperature. This ensures your vape battery lasts longer and you have a better vaping experience.
If you can't store it at room temperature, you can warm up the vape battery by holding the device in your palms for a few minutes before vaping. This makes your vaping experience better and extends the battery life.
When you vape a lot, like heavy vapers who take around 300 puffs daily, it can wear out your vape faster.
Here's how heavy use affects your vape's lifespan:
Regular upkeep is vital in maintaining your vape's efficiency and lifespan. Maintenance includes:
These maintenance practices contribute to a longer-lasting, efficient, and enjoyable vaping experience. They complement proper storage and usage, enhancing your device's overall lifespan.
High-quality materials, such as stainless steel and Pyrex glass for the e-liquid tank, contribute to a longer-lasting vape. These materials are less prone to corrosion and wear, ensuring the device remains in good condition over time.
On the other hand, low-quality materials, like cheap plastics, can deteriorate quickly, leading to leaks, breakages, and overall reduced durability.
Note: These factors aren’t limited to just nicotine and nicotine-free vapes. They also apply to other vape categories, including essential oil, melatonin, and CBD vape. These vapes operate like traditional electronic cigarettes but use different substances. For example, a CBD vape vaporizes CBD oil or THC oil from the cannabis plant for potential therapeutic use.
Next, let’s look at seven essential tips to get the best out of your vape.
For vapers looking to make their disposable vape last longer, here are some ways to do it:
Now, you may wonder how the lifespan of a vape differs from that of a normal cigarette.
Let's explore how each option stacks up in terms of longevity:
Cigarettes:
Disposable Vapes:
Now, let's compare:
Cigarettes vs. Disposable Vapes (600 puffs):
Cigarettes vs. Larger-capacity Disposable Vapes (5,000 puffs):
When it comes to longevity, disposable vapes, especially those with larger capacities, outperform cigarettes.
Did you know? The aerosol from electronic cigarettes generally contains fewer toxic chemicals than the harmful mix of 7000 chemicals found in cigarette smoke.
The lifespan of a vape depends on the type of device you choose, puff range, frequency of use, battery capacity, and more.
But, if you’re looking for longevity, it’s clear that a vape can last longer than a box of traditional cigarettes.
For an improved vaping experience, choose high-quality vapes with premium ingredients to avoid gunk buildup, burnt vape coils, and harmful additives.

Certain vapes may contain toxins that can disrupt your skin’s natural balance, leading to breakouts or cystic acne. Nicotine vaping can also damage your facial skin in other ways.
Why?
Vaping can dehydrate your skin, increasing sebum and oil production. This excess oil can clog, and in some cases, inflame your skin pores, leading to an acne breakout.
But that’s not all.
The harmful chemicals you inhale from e-cigarettes, including formaldehyde and nicotine, can deposit in the skin, affecting its functions. This may lead to further inflammation, premature aging, delayed acne scar healing, and more.
A vaping product may contain skin-damaging chemicals like nicotine, formaldehyde, acrolein, propylene glycol, and nickel.
Here’s how they affect healthy skin:
In addition to acne, vaping may also lead to other harmful effects on your skin.
Vaping can lead to premature skin aging, spots, inflammation, delayed acne scar healing, and more.
Here’s a closer look at how vaping can affect your face and skin in general:
Vaping exposes you to fewer harmful substances than traditional cigarettes. However, the nicotine in some vapes carries its own set of drawbacks.
Nicotine can narrow your blood vessels, reducing blood flow. When this happens in your facial area, it may hamper oxygen and nutrient supply to your skin.
The result?
Skin issues, including dryness, paleness, premature aging, and a higher risk of conditions like cystic acne, irritation, and skin infections.
As we mentioned above, nicotine and other harmful chemicals in some vapes can break down the collagen in your skin, reducing your skin’s firmness and plumpness.
The result?
You might notice more fine lines and wrinkles on your face.
Poor oxygen and nutrient delivery due to vaping can slow down your skin’s natural healing processes.
And here's the kicker:
Nicotine's effect on your body’s blood flow prolongs blemish healing and can worsen your acne scars.
Inhaling vaping toxins, including formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and acrolein, can potentially weaken the skin's protective barrier.
How?
These toxins can put your skin under oxidative stress, increasing the amount of free radicals in your body. Free radicals are harmful molecules that can interact with the skin cells, causing damage to cellular structures, proteins, and DNA.
The resulting chronic inflammation can worsen skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, and psoriasis.
In addition to skin irritation, the propylene glycol in the vaping liquid extracts moisture from the skin. So, prolonged exposure to this substance often dehydrates your face, nose, throat, and mouth.
When the skin is dehydrated, it can become dry, flaky, and prone to a breakout due to the increased buildup of dead skin cells.
You might unconsciously touch your face more frequently when you use an electronic cigarette — increasing the risk of skin damage.
What do we mean?
Whether it's your fingers brushing against your skin during puffs or wiping away vape aerosols from your face, this increased hand-to-face contact can introduce excess dirt and bacteria. This, in turn, can potentially lead to an acne breakout.
But there's more to it.
When you vape, traces of vape aerosols linger on your face until you wash it. This could lead to skin irritation and increased oiliness, worsening acne breakout.
But now you may be wondering:
Which is more harmful to your skin — vaping or smoking cigarettes?
Let’s find out.
While vaping may lead to acne and other skin-related issues, scientific studies suggest that smoking tobacco cigarettes can be more harmful to your skin and other health aspects:
Here’s a closer look at the impact of a regular cigarette on your healthy skin:
The bottom line?
Tobacco cigarettes can have a more detrimental effect on your skin than vapes.
Discover what happens When You Quit Smoking and Start Vaping.
Wondering if there are ways to prevent acne and other skin-related issues while vaping?
We’ll cover a few tips next.
You can minimize the harmful impact of vaping chemicals on your skin in several ways.
1. Use high-quality nicotine-free vapes: Opting for reputable nicotine-free vape pen products can reduce the potential for skin issues associated with nicotine intake.
Not sure where to find a nicotine-free vaping device?
Look no further than Cyclone Pods — a California-based vape brand that prioritizes health and only uses premium ingredients in its vaping products. Cyclone vapes are free of tobacco, nicotine, and other harmful substances, including vitamin E acetate and diacetyl.
If you prefer disposable vapes, Gust Super by Cyclone Pods is a great place to kickstart your nicotine-free journey! It’s a rechargeable vaping device delivering over 5000 puffs.
Choose from an array of 11 tantalizing flavors, including Mint, Menthol, Watermelon, Strawberry Banana, Mango, and more.
And if you’re looking for an eco-friendly option, check out Cyclone Pods' Surge Collection — a pod vape with a rechargeable battery, producing minimal waste and over 6000 puffs!
You can get the Surge in five delicious vape juice flavors, including Mint and Strawberry. Or pair your Surge device with any of our 13 Surge pod flavors like Blue Razz, Mint, Watermelon Raspberry, Strawberry, and more.
2. Stay hydrated: Typically, drinking eight cups of water daily does the trick for staying hydrated. But if you're a vaper (or smoker), consider adding in a couple more glasses to avoid skin dryness.
3. Follow a balanced diet: A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains provides essential nutrients that support skin health and reduce the likelihood of vaping-induced breakouts.
4. Reduce anxiety and stress: Reduced stress levels can help regulate hormones like cortisol, which, when elevated, can lead to acne. You can do this by meditating and improving your mental health.
5. Exercise frequently: Aerobic exercise, such as jogging or swimming, can boost your body’s oxygen levels, enhancing skin elasticity and detoxifying pores for a clearer complexion.
6. Get enough sleep: Quality sleep can help with skin cell rejuvenation, reducing the risk of skin issues (wrinkles and sagging) caused by vaping. This is because sleeping boosts our skin’s collagen production.
7. Never pick or squeeze pimples: We've all been there – it's tempting to play the pimple-popping game, but avoiding this habit helps prevent the spread of bacteria and inflammation.
8. Clean and moisturize your face frequently: Proper skin care and moisturizing, along with selecting suitable skin care products for your skin type, can counteract the drying effects of vaping and minimize the chances of acne breakouts.
9. Apply sunscreen when you go outside: Applying sunscreen regularly protects your skin from harmful UV rays, which can help reduce the risk of a skin issue and the buildup of dead skin cells, which may trigger acne.

The cost of a vape depends on the type of device you choose, the brand, technology, features, and accessories.
Here are the prices of eight of the most common types of vape devices:
Price range: $10 to $100
A vape pen is a pen-shaped device slightly larger than a regular electronic cigarette.
These come in two varieties:
Vape pens, particularly disposable vape pens, are popular among beginners thanks to their practical and discreet nature, allowing you to vape without drawing too much attention.
Price range: $5 to $40
A disposable vape is ideal if you’re looking for a convenient vaping device with a smaller price tag. Once the vape juice runs out in a disposable device, you can simply replace it with a new device.
Disposables come in two varieties:
Remember, the pre-filled disposable vapes cost less initially but can add up for consistent vapers. Over time, purchasing many of these vapes can become less cost-effective than other vaping options.
Opt for a rechargeable device to get more out of a disposable vape pen. This choice reduces your carbon footprint and saves you money in the long run.
Did you know? 9.4% of young adults in the US aged 18 to 24 use nicotine electronic cigarettes. This is the age group most affected by the side effects. And among these young adults, 47.5% have tried disposable e cigarette devices.
Price range: $30 to $350
Does the price range seem too wide?
It’s because mod vape is a broad term used for a wide range of devices, such as:
Generally, a mod vape is a robust vaping device equipped with large vape juice tanks, high power capabilities, and enhanced airflow to generate large vapor clouds.
These devices offer customization options to match Mouth to Lung (MTL) or Direct to Lung (DTL) vaping preferences.
Due to their high customizability, mod vapes offer performance options for various vaping styles and preferences.
Mechanical mod vapes work best for experienced vapers and cloud chasers. Regulated vape mods provide adjustable power settings and safety features for a versatile vaping experience. Similarly, a box mod is a big rectangular device featuring a large battery that can outlast other vape devices.
The rule of thumb is - the more advanced the device, the higher its price tag.
Price range: $5-$300
Pod vapes fall into three main categories:
Price range: $5 to $50
These compact vapes can be either button-activated or draw-activated. They use replaceable e-liquid pods.
Standard pod systems can come with two vape pod options:
Price range: $25 to $300
AIOs are advanced versions of the standard pod system and come with replaceable coils.
What’s a coil?
A coil is a component in your e-cigarette that heats up and turns the e-liquid into the vapor you breathe in.
Price range: $10-$160
Pod mod blends in the portability of a standard pod system and the advanced features of a full-sized mod vape, such as a screen and sophisticated chipset.
They can also have replaceable coils, similar to AIOs.
Pod mod vapes usually have a Mouth to Lung (MTL) mechanism. This means you first draw the vapor into your mouth before inhaling it into your lungs, similar to smoking a traditional cigarette. Beginners especially favor the MTL style of vaping due to its similarity to smoking.
You can find pod mod vapes in both disposable and reusable options. The reusable pod mods cost more initially but are more cost-effective over time than the disposable ones. In the case of reusable ones they include detachable and refillable e-liquid pods.
Price range: $10-$50
"Cig-alikes," the first modern electronic cigarettes, were intentionally crafted to resemble traditional cigarettes in both their appearance and sensation closely. This design was intended to appeal to tobacco smokers.
Although somewhat outdated, cig-alikes with a simple design can still be found in select tobacco or vape shops.
Price range: $30-$700
Dry herb vapes, unlike e-cigarettes, don't vaporize e-liquids. Instead, they directly heat herbs and plant material to a specific temperature, below their point of combustion, to produce vapor containing the desired compounds.
Cannabis and tobacco are frequently chosen herbs for dry vaping. These vaporizers allow you to enjoy their unique flavors and effects without combustion.
Did you know? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has found that using vape liquids containing THC, a compound from cannabis, is more likely to cause lung injuries than those containing nicotine.
Price range: $10-$40
Nicotine-free vapes offer the same features as popular "vape mod" devices but with a significant advantage: they do not contain nicotine!
These nicotine-free vaping options are available in reusable and disposable forms. In the case of reusable devices, they use refillable vape pods instead of glass vape tanks.
Nicotine-free vapes offer the full enjoyment of vaping without the risks associated with harmful substances like vitamin E acetate.

Vape accessories help ensure your device functions smoothly and produces the desired flavor and vapor.
While many vaping products come with several accessories, you may need to buy spare, interchangeable parts for your vape device.
These include:
While the initial vaping cost can be higher than a pack of cigarettes, the long-term expenses tend to even out.
Let’s take a look at the average vape cost:
Remember to consider these costs and budget accordingly when switching from a tobacco product to vaping.
The price of producing vapes depends mainly on the quality of materials and the technology the manufacturer uses.
Let’s look at some key factors behind vape pricing:
Premium vape juices use high-grade ingredients, including pharmaceutical-grade nicotine and top-tier flavorings, which can increase production expenses.
Conversely, low-quality vape juice contains cheaper ingredients, like impure nicotine and substandard propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin, that can lead to symptoms like dry mouth and a sore throat.
The cost of a product can also vary based on how the vape juice is delivered:
Vapes with larger battery capacities typically cost more than those with smaller ones.
A higher-capacity battery provides longer vaping sessions between charges — a desirable feature for many users. However, larger batteries have higher production costs, as they require more materials and may involve advanced technology to maintain efficiency and safety.
Additionally, the type of battery used can also influence the price.
High-quality lithium-ion batteries, common in premium vapes, are more expensive than lower-quality alternatives.
Vapes with higher nicotine levels are often pricier because they deliver a stronger sensation.
Higher nicotine-strength e-liquids typically require additional nicotine concentrate to achieve the desired potency. This means that manufacturers need to use more nicotine extract in production, which can increase the vape cost.
On the other hand, e-liquids with no nicotine usually cost less and are much safer than those containing nicotine.
Recognized brands frequently charge premium prices based on their established quality, safety, and dependability track record.
Whereas emerging or less-known brands might provide more competitive pricing as they strive to capture a larger market share.
The cost of extra accessories and features, such as chargers and vape cases, could add to the cost of a vape.
The price may vary based on whether you choose a vape with these accessories or buy them separately.
For example, a vape pod system generally ships with essentials like a charging cable. But, some premium packages may include additional accessories such as spare pods or carrying cases.
The price of vaping devices can be affected by costs related to testing and certification.
A vape with high-quality ingredients, such as the Surge Collection from Cyclone Pods, and rigorous safety testing can come with a higher price tag. But, it ensures that the product is safer than a cheaper unregulated vape.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates tobacco products in the United States, including vape devices and e-liquids. The FDA also establishes and enforces standards, conducts inspections, and monitors safety and health regulations compliance.
As environmental awareness grows, you may prefer eco-friendly vapes. This can lead to price differences between traditional and environmentally-conscious options.
Vapes designed with sustainability in mind often incorporate recyclable or biodegradable materials, which can be more costly than conventional vapes.
Where you buy a vape device can influence its cost. For example, a gas station offers convenience but may charge more than a specialty vape shop or online retailer, which can have competitive pricing.
Prices can also vary due to different state or country taxes and regulations. Minnesota has one of the highest tax rates in the US at 95%, meaning that if a vaping product has a wholesale price of $100, the tax imposed would be $95 in addition to the product's base cost.
For vapers looking to reduce their overall vaping cost, here are some ways to do it:
The cost of a pack of cigarettes varies by state but averages around $6.50. With this value in mind, smoking 20 cigarettes a day amounts to:
Besides, the price of cigarettes has been consistently increasing due to heavy taxation, surpassing annual inflation rates.
In contrast, vaping costs are generally lower. Even if we consider the least cost-effective option — a small-capacity disposable vape — it can cost around half as much as smoking.
For example, a 600-puff disposable vape, priced under $5, can last up to 4 days, costing around:
Savings increase with larger-capacity disposables, such as a 5,000-puff Gust Super vape by Cyclone Pods, which costs $18 and can last up to a month (average of 140 puffs/day), amounting to monthly expenses of $18 or $216 annually.
Did you know? As per Public Health England, vaping is a less harmful alternative to traditional cigarette smoking. Additionally, when used alongside smoking cessation aids, it can help you quit smoking altogether.
The cost per device varies greatly with a large variety of vaping devices. This is further impacted by factors such as vape accessories, vape juice quality, brand reputation, and more.
However, it’s clear that vaping is less expensive than smoking regular cigarettes.
To get the most out of your vaping experience, opt for high-quality vapes that won’t lead to a scratchy throat or other unwanted side effects.

Melatonin vapes have become quite a rage — promising better sleep and quick relief from any sleep problem — with just a few small puffs.
But is melatonin safe to vape?
Not really.
Melatonin vapes are unregulated products that can cause nasty side effects — like changes in mental health. They also increase the risk of overdosing, especially when paired with hormonal birth control.
Let’s dive into what vaping melatonin entails and cover some insightful FAQs about melatonin vapes.
And luckily, there are much safer vaping alternatives on the market (like Cyclone Pods nicotine free vapes.)

A melatonin vape can go by many names, including a melatonin diffuser, a melatonin pen, and a melatonin e cigarette.
Simply put: It lets you inhale vaporized melatonin — a natural hormone that your brain produces to regulate your sleep wake cycle.
How exactly does melatonin work?
The body releases melatonin in dark conditions (like post-sunset) to prepare you for better sleep.
In other words: Melatonin influences your body’s natural circadian rhythm and plays a crucial role in maintaining a healthy sleep cycle.
So, why do you need a melatonin supplement?
Doctors usually prescribe external melatonin supplementation to treat sleep disorders and insomnia. These melatonin supplements include a melatonin gummy, pill, or patch and are often fortified with additional vitamins.
Now, a melatonin vape may offer the same benefit as these supplements. Often marketed as “wellness vapes,” melatonin diffusers are touted to be a safe and effective way to catch some shut-eye.
But is it safe?
Scientific studies paint a different picture.
Note: A melatonin diffuser doesn’t contain any nicotine, which sets it apart from traditional vapes.
Medical experts, including renowned specialists like Dr. Jennifer Butler and Dr. Rizwan Bashir, do not consider melatonin vaping safe.
According to Dr Bashir – an Atlanta-based neurologist – when you vape melatonin, it enters the bloodstream almost immediately.
This means that when vaping melatonin, you’ll experience its effects much faster than taking melatonin pills (which take around two hours for full effects). This is likely to do more harm than good.
Here are some melatonin vape health risks you should know:
Here’s the deal:
By taking melatonin in pill form, it gets absorbed in the body at a slow and consistent rate.
But that’s not the case with melatonin vapes.
Moreover, everyone takes a vape pen “pull” differently, making it difficult to gauge how much of the supplement you’ve ingested. This increases the risk of melatonin overdose.
Note: Generally, an adult dose of melatonin falls between 1-10 mg. Doses near the 30 mg mark are considered harmful.
While a melatonin overdose isn’t likely to kill you, it may cause side effects, such as:
Besides melatonin, manufacturers typically add many other ingredients to a melatonin vape, such as:
To name a few.
But here’s the kicker:
Melatonin vaporizer products are not approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a dietary supplement or sleep aid. So, melatonin vapes are largely unregulated. This makes it difficult to gauge the quality of these sleep aid products and the ingredients they contain.
You could end up with a low-quality product with sub-par or even harmful ingredients. It can worsen your sleep problem and invite other side effects.
Hormonal birth control pills are known to increase melatonin levels in your body.
So vaping melatonin while on birth control pills can cause your melatonin levels to skyrocket, increasing the health risks.
And that’s not all.
Besides birth control, melatonin vaping is also known to interact with other medications, like blood thinners, diabetes medications, and immunosuppressants. This interaction could affect the efficacy of these medicines or amplify their side effects.
Disclaimer: There’s no conclusive evidence to support that a melatonin supplement can decrease the effectiveness of birth control. As a precautionary measure, consult your healthcare practitioner before you vape melatonin.
Here are some more potential side effects of using a melatonin vape:
Melatonin-based wellness vapes can severely disrupt your sleep cycle if misused. This may cause many mental health issues like mood swings and irritability.
With risks like these, why not switch to safer vaping alternatives?
Vaping without unnecessary side effects or nicotine dependency may seem like a dream. But when you choose to use high-quality, non-toxic nicotine free vapes, it's a reality.

Still have questions about melatonin vapes? Let’s tackle them.
Here are the answers to some melatonin vape questions you might still have.
Yes — they are.
Like other vaping products, the age limit for using a melatonin diffuser is 18 years.
Like a melatonin pill, there is no evidence to suggest that melatonin vaporizer products are addictive.
However, there’s limited research to assess the potential for abuse or addiction to inhaling melatonin.
Melatonin is widely used as an effective sleep aid to combat insomnia and sleep disorder.
While it's unsafe to vape melatonin, you can still enjoy a healthy sleep by taking melatonin via other safer supplement forms — like melatonin pills or even a vitamin fortified melatonin gummy.
Did you know: According to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), melatonin supplements are an effective sleep medicine for children with Autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
There have also been no studies to evaluate the safe duration for inhaling melatonin.
With a prescribed oral melatonin supplement, your doctor will give you a recommended timeline for their use. Moreover, most OTC melatonin supplements have usage and dosage instructions on the label.
And since a melatonin pen and a melatonin pill produce similar results, it’s safe to assume that the dosage guidelines for pills also apply to vapes.
Note: Melatonin vape pen devices are not an FDA-approved sleep medicine and can’t be prescribed like oral melatonin pills for insomnia and sleep disorder.
A melatonin vape pen will likely do more harm than its claimed benefits. So it’s best to use other safer melatonin supplements as a sleep aid.
Luckily, companies like Cyclone Pods provide much safer vaping alternatives that will improve your vaping experience — without exposing you to unnecessary or undesired side effects.

Let’s go!
We wish we could say there was a 'quick-fix' solution to quitting vaping, but unfortunately, there isn't.
Kicking nicotine dependency will take some serious work and dedication. Still, the effort is well worth the reward!
Here are three effective methods for ‘ditching the deed,’ along with their benefits and challenges.
For those who prefer not to dive into the deep end of vaping cessation straight away – nicotine reduction therapy is the way to go!
With nicotine reduction, the aim is to gradually decrease the amount of nicotine you ingest over a long period.
Here’s how it works:
The first step is to limit your daily intake to a smaller amount than what you’re used to.
Let’s say you vape around 500 puffs daily (half the capacity of a standard disposable vape pen). You can cut it down to 450 puffs per day.
Vape with this restriction for around one week, giving your body time to adjust to these new levels of nicotine intake.
The next step is to keep reducing your daily intake limit each week till you reach a point where you are smoking under 20 puffs daily.
At this point, your body is more dependent on the oral fixation aspect of vaping (the habit of putting a vape in your mouth) and not so much on nicotine.
A great way for e cigarette users to stay on track with this method is to slowly replace nicotine vaping with some other safer habits.
Like what?
You can switch to a Nicotine-free vaping product like Cyclone Pods — a fantastic alternative to avoid the nasty health risks of nicotine while still enjoying the pleasures of vaping! These vapes are also a safe option for any young person looking to experience vaping.
Cyclone Pods has a wide range of reusable and disposable nicotine-free vapes in different sizes and flavors. Most importantly, they are – free from harmful chemicals like vitamin e acetate, known to cause shortness of breath and lung irritation.
Fancy a minty fresh vaping experience?
Try this Thunder Mint Starter Kit from Cyclone Pods. The kit packs all the essentials you need to get started — vaping device, nicotine-free pod, and charging cables.
Looking for something disposable?
This Mango Flavored Gust Super is a great option! The long-lasting (up to 5000 puffs) disposable vape is free from nicotine or harmful chemicals like vitamin e acetate and comes with a choice of several exciting flavors.
If you are in a pinch, even chewing gum or sparkling water can trick your mind into getting a fix.
Did you know: Sparkling water mimics the feeling of tobacco smoke on the throat?
As you progress through the nicotine reduction method, you’ll notice these healthier alternatives slowly replacing your nicotine cravings.
Now, there are pros and cons to this method.
This method helps you cope with cravings and nicotine withdrawal symptoms over a period of time instead of letting them hit you like a truck! Because of this, the success rates for this method are high!
Although nicotine withdrawal symptoms (such as shaking, cravings, mood swings, and hunger) are mild, you’ll still need to work towards overcoming them.
As with quitting smoking, you’ll need strong restraint and dedication for this method to be effective.
Going cold turkey is one of the most challenging methods, but it can lead to great results! The cold turkey method forces you to end nicotine use immediately, without aids or safety nets.
High risk. High reward!
Here's what to do:
Choose a specific day to quit in advance, and stick to it. When the day arrives, get rid of all your vape products.
You heard right – all of them!
Going cold turkey means cutting all contact with nicotine and facing the effects head-on until they pass. Removing all temptations to vape is essential for this method, as sneaking one puff could send you back to square one.
The first week is challenging as you will face heavy withdrawal. This means that nicotine is exiting your system - which is good! As the weeks progress, these effects will lessen, and so will your desire to vape.
When withdrawal starts to sink in, your chances of relapse will increase. Having a plan in place for when this happens will help you cope and overcome these challenges.
Identifying your triggers, learning coping skills, and forming a support structure are all great ways to cope with withdrawal symptoms and prepare you for facing nicotine cravings.
Cold turkey gets you over the worst parts of quitting nicotine quicker. Additionally, you start to gain health benefits much faster with cold turkey than with other quitting methods.
The cold turkey method is commonly associated with combating drug abuse. However, it has proved to be equally effective among vapers and cigarette smokers as well – especially young adults.
Withdrawal symptoms when going cold turkey are more intense compared to other methods.
And that’s why the success rate for cold turkey is low - only around 25%, as per a study by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. However, a smoker or vaper who quits cold turkey is more likely to stay off vaping or cigarette use in the long run.
NRT, as the name suggests, is the method where you replace vaping with other less-harmful nicotine-based products.
With NRT, you’ll still need to put in the effort to quit your vaping addiction. However, it'll take a lot of the weight off your shoulders since you’re not giving up nicotine entirely.
Keep in mind though, that each of these methods have their own risks.
The three most common forms of NRT include:
Many people find quitting smoking or vaping easier when not facing intense withdrawal symptoms and nicotine cravings. NRT has proven to be highly effective, with increased chances of success between 50% - 70%.
While NRT satisfies a nicotine craving, the release of nicotine is slow compared to inhaling e-vapor or tobacco smoke.
Cravings and withdrawal are the toughest part of quitting! Here are six helpful tips to help remove some extra pressure and push you toward success!
Maybe it’s for health reasons or to prove to yourself that you can! Having a firm sense of why you want to stop cigarette smoking or vaping is fuel to the fire that keeps you headstrong when times get tough.
Vaping can quickly become associated with many parts of a daily routine without being noticed.
Certain feelings or experiences can “trigger” the need to vape. Figuring out these triggers is crucial to making the process more manageable in the long run.
Here are some common triggers:
By identifying your vaping triggers, you can adjust your daily routine to work around these experiences and sensations. This will increase your chances of successfully quitting vaping.
Researching the health risks of nicotine vaping and e cigarette use is a fantastic way of reminding yourself that you're doing the right thing!
According to a study by the American Lung Association, health risks linked to vaping and tobacco cigarettes include lung damage, lung disease, and heart disease.
The Mayo Clinic has also found that vape pen and e cigarette use may cause permanent brain damage in an unborn child during pregnancy. Many of these health risks are linked directly to harmful chemicals in vape liquid, such as vitamin e acetate and diacetyl.
Feeling motivated yet?
Informing your friends and family of your decision to quit smoking or vaping will help them better understand ways to support and encourage you through the process.
As a result, friends and family who use a vaping device, electronic cigarette or smoke a tobacco product will avoid doing so when around you and will motivate you to stay focused.
Surrounding yourself with other people trying to quit vaping or quit smoking a tobacco product is a great way to keep yourself on the right track.
Support programs like the EX Program provide cessation services to people trying to quit vaping or smoking tobacco cigarettes.
Programs like the EX program are especially effective at keeping young adults off vaping and tobacco cigarettes and creating community support for participants.
Finding it challenging to cope with nicotine cravings and nicotine withdrawal?
Try distracting your mind with some coping skills and helpful practices!
Here are six simple ways to keep you ahead of the challenges.
Quitting vaping or tobacco cigarette use is a challenging task that requires constant motivation. Patting yourself on the back for your progress will encourage you to keep pushing.
You can do this!
Take some time to plan before starting your journey to stop vaping. You can determine what will work best for you using these methods and tips.
You can combine these practices (such as using nicotine-free vapes while practicing nicotine reduction) to give you the best chance of cessation success!

The American Heart Association maintains that smoking traditional cigarettes and even secondhand cigarette smoke affects body organs.
The main culprit?
It’s nicotine. So it shouldn’t be surprising that nicotine vaping has detrimental effects on your health too.
Recent studies and clinical trials show that e cigarette use and nicotine vaping can cause hypertension and increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Note: While electronic cigarettes and nicotine vapes are harmful, studies show that they are much less so compared to conventional cigarette smoking (Source: The British Heart Foundation.)
So how exactly do nicotine vapes affect your heart health? Let’s find out.
Nicotine’s reputation sure does precede itself. You don't need to be a cigarette smoker or e cigarette user to know that nicotine harms your lungs, heart, and other organs.
In the short term, nicotine can raise your heart rate and increase both diastolic and systolic blood pressure.
While these changes are temporary, they can lead to long-term health ailments, like heart disease and coronary artery disease.
Here’s what happens when you vape nicotine:
The moment you inhale nicotine, your blood pressure rises temporarily. With every puff, your blood pressure continues to spike.
Studies show that your blood pressure remains high for about 30 minutes. Over time, this can lead to severe damage to artery walls.
That’s not all.
Vaping nicotine can increase the rate of plaque buildup in your artery walls which can lead to coronary artery disease. Gradually, the clogged blood vessels can lead to heart attack or stroke.
Here are some other risks of e cigarette use or conventional cigarettes on your heart health:
What if you already suffer from heart disease?
Nicotine vaping can put you at greater health risk if you already suffer from cardiovascular conditions like hypertension, high cholesterol, or coronary heart disease.
Continuous nicotine use can spike the heart rate and blood pressure of cardiovascular patients to dangerously high levels, risking a stroke or heart attack.
So, it’s clear that nicotine is harmful to your heart health.
But it can get worse!
An electronic cigarette may contain other sneaky health hazards.
Like what?
Electronic cigarette vapor has toxic chemicals, such as acetaldehyde and formaldehyde.
Studies show that these substances can affect the heart health of the e cigarette user and the people around them (through secondhand vapors.)
But aren’t electronic cigarettes a good smoking cessation aid? After all, a report by the British Heart Foundation deems it so.
Nope!
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved electronic cigarettes as a smoking cessation aid.
Did you know?
According to the American Lung Association, an electronic cigarette is the most common tobacco product used by young people. And nearly 20% of total heart disease deaths result from cigarette smoking and secondhand smoke (Source: American Heart Association & US Surgeon General factsheet)
Since nicotine in vaping devices or traditional cigarettes can be directly linked to high blood pressure, eliminating it can minimize the risk.
Here’s the deal:
High blood pressure can be tricky to treat and can only be managed.
How?
This can be done through lifestyle changes, blood pressure medication, or a combination of the two, all of which help lower blood pressure.
Why lifestyle changes?
Aside from nicotine consumption, several other factors can lead to high blood pressure. These range from a sedentary lifestyle to overeating salt to not enough fruits and vegetables.
If you vape nicotine or smoke regular cigarettes, consider these precautions to minimize hypertension risks and maintain a lower blood pressure:
If you have high blood pressure, you must monitor your blood pressure actively. Early detection of high blood pressure is key to preventing further complications.
Now, here’s another big question:
There are no conclusive studies that indicate that nicotine-free vapes can increase blood pressure.
Although a nicotine-free vape pen is a great smoking cessation tool, the low-quality ones may not be entirely safe.
Low-quality nicotine-free vape juice may contain harmful chemicals and additives like diacetyl. These e-liquid alternatives may damage your blood vessels and lead to many unwanted side effects.
But you can always minimize the risk by choosing high-quality nicotine-free vapes.
Long-term smokers trying to quit smoking (or nicotine vaping) turn to high-quality nicotine-free vapes like Cyclone Pods to deal with cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
The bottom line:
Ditching nicotine altogether would help minimize the risk of high blood pressure. Using a smoking cessation tool like a high-quality non-nicotine vape is your best bet.

Still have some doubts?
There’s not enough research to conclusively say when your blood pressure returns to normal after vaping or e cigarette use.
According to the American Heart Association and US Surgeon General, your heart rate and blood pressure return to normal within 20 minutes after the last draw.
One of the most commonly associated risk factors with vaping is known as EVALI (e cigarette or vaping use-associated lung injury.)
Almost 1 in every 20 Americans has tried an electronic cigarette before. According to Reuters Health, about 10.8 million American adults use e-cigarettes.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported 2,807 cases (2020) of EVALI in e-cigarette users that led to hospitalization or death.
The rising American Lung Association reports a rise in the popularity of electronic cigarette use among young people, prompting a public health concern.
Other than the risk of a lung injury, here’s a list of other health risks associated with vaping and nicotine dependence:
As per the US Surgeon General, nicotine use can impair brain development in teens and young adults.
Just like e cigarette use or smoking a tobacco cigarette, marijuana use can temporarily increase your heart rate and blood pressure.
This temporary increase is attributed to THC — a psychoactive compound in the marijuana plant.
But, there aren’t enough studies on the subject to understand the exact link between marijuana use and blood pressure.
Fun fact: CBD (cannabidiol), a beneficial compound in marijuana plants, can lower blood pressure when taken in its pure form.
Existing studies indicate that nicotine inhalation affects blood pressure and heart health and can lead to heart attack and stroke.
Tobacco cigarette smokers and nicotine vapers must monitor blood pressure regularly and make lifestyle changes.
And if you have hypertension, take your prescribed blood pressure medication to manage the symptoms.

Choosing the right nicotine level to vape can get tricky as there are vape juices of varying nicotine strength in the market.
Nicotine strengths may range from 0mg to 60mg.
And, the nicotine level you choose will determine your overall vaping experience.
You'll also need to choose between nicotine salts and freebase nicotine, and your preferred type of device.
But don't worry! We’ll explain it all.
We’ll also share how you can convert vape liquid percentages to mg and some helpful tips to kickstart your vaping journey.

A nicotine patch is a fairly effective smoking cessation tool. You wear it on your skin to satiate your nicotine cravings and manage withdrawal symptoms once you quit smoking.
But does it have any side effects?
Research shows that the side effects range from mild headaches and skin irritation to serious heart problems.
Thankfully, you can minimize the risk by taking some precautions or switching to a safer smoking cessation aid (like a nicotine-free vape).
Let’s discover all nicotine patch side effects and find answers to other questions you may have about them.

Nicotine-induced headaches are sometimes accompanied by spells of dizziness.
Transdermal nicotine patches can cause skin irritation and contact dermatitis.
How?
Methacrylates — an ingredient in nicotine patch — is known to cause adverse reactions like burning or itching skin and throat irritation.
If you’re a cardiovascular patient, nicotine use could worsen the condition and increase the risk of developing severe heart disease.
Clinical trials show that nicotine can increase heart rate and lead to high blood pressure and hardening of artery walls.
If you’ve been using the nicotine skin patch, you’ve probably experienced vivid dreams and bouts of insomnia.
The reason?
Nicotine is a powerful stimulant that disturbs your normal sleep cycle, preventing you from entering a deep sleep cycle. This means you’ll mostly stay in a “light sleep” state, leading to inadequate night's rest.
Using a Nicotine patch with higher than recommended strength could cause nausea and vomiting.
How?
Nicotine hinders serotonin receptors in the brain, leading to nausea and vomiting.
Additionally, nicotine can affect gastrointestinal muscle contractions, causing abdominal distress.
Nicotine can interfere with the neurotransmitters responsible for communicating external sounds to your brain.
When these neurotransmitters take damage, you could experience hearing loss.
But that’s not all.
Nicotine can lead to other hearing-related problems, such as vertigo and tinnitus.
Smoking nicotine releases dopamine – the feel-good hormone in our body.
But, when you give up smoking and switch to cessation aids like nicotine patches, your body doesn’t produce the same amount of dopamine as before, leading to mood swings and feelings of depression.
What’s worse?
Smokers and vapers often turn to cigarettes to cope with stress, anxiety, and feelings of anger.
But when they quit cigarette smoking, it’s like losing a “companion.”
This further increases the risk of various mental health conditions.
It’s widely known that nicotine is highly addictive.
And sure, nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), like the transdermal nicotine patch, could help you get off the habit.
But sadly, they won’t get rid of your nicotine dependence.
While the patch has lower levels of nicotine than traditional cigarettes, it still contains enough to keep you addicted.
Did you know? According to the World Health Organization, the use of tobacco products causes 8 million deaths yearly.
Here are a few more possible side effects to keep in mind when using the nicotine patch:
Note: Some of these nicotine side effects are temporary and disappear with treatment, while others (like heart disease) can have long-term implications.
So, it’s clear that nicotine patches aren’t entirely risk-free.
But, if you’re still planning on using them, here are some precautions you need to consider to minimize the risks.
If you have existing medical conditions, take caution when using the nicotine patch, as it can cause adverse effects.
Seek medical advice before using a nicotine skin patch if any of the following applies to you:
Another critical factor to consider when using nicotine patches is possible drug interactions.
Nicotine patches are known to interact negatively with the following medication:
Note: Patches may alter how your medication works or increase the risk of severe side effects. So, be cautious when using a transdermal nicotine patch with other prescription drugs.
Now, if you are a smoker looking to ditch cigarette smoking and nicotine altogether, you may be wondering:
Is there a safer and more enjoyable way of getting rid of cigarettes?
Sure there is…
Vapes and e-cigarettes are known to be more effective smoking cessation tools than nicotine patches or any other nicotine replacement product.
Zero nicotine vapes take it a notch higher by minimizing the risk of nicotine side effects!
So, what nicotine-free vapes should you get?
The key is to opt for reputable brands, such as Cyclone Pods.
The California-based vaping company uses the finest quality ingredients for its vapes.
The best part?
Their products are free from nicotine, vitamin-E acetate, and diacetyl — all notorious for putting you at serious health risks.
The Thunder Device Starter Kit is the perfect product to kickstart your nicotine-free vaping journey! The rechargeable Thunder Device comes with a flavor pod and charging cable. Choose from a range of five flavors, including mango and mint.
Or, check out the Gust Super disposable device with up to 5000 puffs. Pick your favorite from six irresistible flavors, including strawberry and watermelon.
Now, let’s tackle some questions you may still have about a nicotine patch.
Here are some commonly asked questions:
Yes, clinical trials suggest that the nicotine patch can be an effective method of quitting smoking, albeit with some side effects.
According to a Jama Internal medicine report, the nicotine patch has a success rate of about 18-77%.
Did you know: The use of nicotine gum, nicotine inhaler, nicotine lozenge, and nicotine nasal spray have about the same efficacy rate as nicotine patch use?
The nicotine patch is most commonly available in three strengths:
Now, we know what you’re thinking…
It depends on how much you currently smoke.
For instance, if you’re a smoker who smokes more than 10 cigarettes daily, consider starting with a 21mg patch.
If you smoke 10 cigarettes or less, consider starting with the 14 mg patch.
Start with the 7 mg patch if you smoke less than 7 cigarettes daily.
Note: You may still experience nicotine withdrawal symptoms if your patch strength is too low.
Typically, you can wear the nicotine skin patch for up to 24 hours.
Most people apply a fresh patch as soon as they wake up and change it the following day after 24 hours.
However, if you’re experiencing vivid dreams or trouble sleeping, you can remove the patch before bed and apply a new one in the morning.
No, it is not advised to vape nicotine while using the patch treatment, or any other form of NRT like nicotine lozenge, for that matter.
Why?
You run the risk of a nicotine overdose.
Here are some symptoms of a possible nicotine overdose:
Let’s take a closer look at whether or not children, the elderly, and breastfeeding women can use a Nicotine Patch:
At the end of the day, nicotine patches are an effective but not entirely safe way to quit smoking.

It's natural to wonder whether vaping affects your weight and overall health.
Does vaping have calories?
Well, it does.
But can vape calories affect your diet plan? And should you be more worried about nicotine intake instead?
This article will answer how many calories vape juice contains and how it affects your weight. We’ll also share a safer vaping option (Cyclone Pods) that doesn’t affect your weight like regular vapes or tobacco cigs.

A vape pen (a disposable vape or a refillable device) typically contains around 5 calories per 1 ml of e liquid.
It means a full 30 ml bottle of vape juice has approximately 150 calories.
But where do these calories come from?
Vape juice contains five core ingredients — propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, flavorings, nicotine (freebase nicotine or nicotine salt), and water. These ingredients are then heated, creating a vapor that the user inhales.
The calories in vape juice primarily come from propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG). Both PG and VG have a calorie count of about 4 calories per gram. This means that the total calories in vape liquids depend on the PG: VG ratio.
What about the calorie content in flavored and sweetened vape juice?
Surprisingly, the flavorings and sweeteners used in a vaping device are usually calorie-free. Meaning a sweeter flavor like strawberry cheesecake won't necessarily pack extra calories compared to less-sugary options like menthol.
However, some vapes may contain added sugar which could significantly increase your calorie intake.
To put the standard 150 calories in a vape into perspective — you’ll consume the same amount of calories gulping down a regular can of soda.
But here's the twist:
Think about how long that 30 ml bottle of vape juice lasts for most vapers.
Considering its extended duration, typically 3-5 days, the caloric intake from vaping isn't something to lose sleep over. It's like a fleeting moment of calorie bliss compared to the soda's lasting impact.
So, if the calorie count in vape liquids is insignificant, you may want to know the answer to the following question.
While most vape juice ingredients won’t cause weight gain or weight loss, the same can’t be said about nicotine, the addictive stimulant found in tobacco.
Let’s answer the two main questions you may have regarding nicotine vaping and weight.
Look: Vaping won’t magically melt away pounds. However, research suggests that nicotine speeds up your metabolism and suppresses your appetite, resulting in weight loss.
Metabolism is the body’s process of converting food and drinks into energy. It affects how quickly calories are burned for various functions, including digestion.
A higher metabolism means the body burns energy faster, burning more calories at rest and during physical activity. This can directly influence body weight, which explains why some people can eat more food without gaining weight.
Question is: How does nicotine spike your metabolism?
Nicotine in vaping liquids and traditional cigarettes accelerates your metabolic rate. This acceleration can boost the calories your body burns at rest by approximately 7-15%.
On top of this, nicotine acts as an appetite suppressant, so vaping and smoking regular cigarettes can reduce your desire to snack or eat as much. This, in turn, may affect your blood sugar level, especially if you’re diabetic or susceptible to blood sugar fluctuations.
Additionally, nicotine can hinder your sense of taste and dampen your senses, making food seem less appetizing and ultimately decreasing food intake.
There's more.
Besides curbing your hunger, nicotine suppresses insulin levels in your bloodstream, leading to an elevated blood sugar level and insulin resistance. This ensures that energy remains readily available in the blood for efficient distribution throughout the body, which may reduce feelings of hunger.
Look: As we mentioned before, an electronic cigarette doesn’t contain enough calories to make you gain weight.
But as a vaper (or smoker) used to high nicotine strength, if you decide to quit, you may experience weight gain initially.
Here’s how:
The weight gain post quitting isn’t drastic and usually happens within the first three months of quitting.
Keeping its side effects on metabolism aside, vaping nicotine can also lead to nicotine cravings and dependence and cause many adverse health risks, like lung scarring, organ damage, etc.
These risks highlight why nicotine should never be a weight loss supplement. And why nicotine vaping and cigarette smoking can’t replace healthy weight management strategies like a balanced diet and physical workout.
Fortunately, there are safer vaping alternatives in the market!
Cyclone Pods is a vape company based in the United States dedicated to improving the safety and accessibility of vaping. Their nicotine-free vape selection excludes harmful chemicals like:
Want to experience the benefits of a nicotine-free vape?

And if you’re searching for something more environment-friendly, try their newly launched Surge Collection. The Surge vape features a rechargeable battery (goodbye, e-waste!) and a durable pod that lasts over 6000 puffs.
Or, you can purchase your very own pod system with the Thunder Starter Kit. This rechargeable vape pen includes a flavor pod and offers double the liquid capacity of regular Juul pods, ensuring you can savor your vaping experience to the fullest.
The cherry on the top — flavored, nicotine-free vapes can satisfy sugar cravings, reducing the temptation to consume excessive sugary snacks. This can indirectly support weight management by helping to regulate sugar intake.
Below are answers to other questions you may have about calories and electronic cigarette use:
When you use an electronic cigarette while fasting, the stimulating effects of nicotine can become amplified.
Why?
Nicotine stimulates the release of certain hormones, such as adrenaline and dopamine, which can affect the body's systems. When you consume nicotine on an empty stomach, these effects can become more pronounced, potentially causing feelings of nausea, dizziness, or general discomfort.
Yes, you can vape while on a keto diet, as it does not directly contribute to carbohydrate intake.
Keep in mind that some flavored e-liquids used in a vape device may contain artificial sweeteners or other additives that could affect ketosis for individuals following a strict ketogenic diet.
The CBD compound has negligible calories, but CBD vape juice typically uses propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin. This means it could have the same calorie content as regular vapes.
On the other hand, THC vape oil usually doesn’t contain vegetable glycerin, so you’ll absorb even fewer calories than using a regular vaping device or a CBD vape device.
Vaping nicotine and consuming high-calorie foods pose different health risks that can impact your overall health. While vaping doesn't contribute to caloric intake, it does have potential health risks, including harm to lung health and the risk of nicotine addiction.
High-calorie foods, especially high in saturated and trans fats or sugar, can contribute to obesity and related health problems.
No, vaping cannot replace meals or snacks. While some vape juices may have food-like flavors, they do not provide any nutritional value or calories.
Vape juice only contains about 5 calories per 1 ml of liquid, meaning it has no true impact on your calorie intake.
Instead, nicotine can affect your weight by acting as an appetite suppressant and increasing your metabolism, influencing weight loss.

Here are nine common reasons why you may be experiencing a sore throat from vaping.
Nicotine withdrawal is a nasty experience and usually presents many unpleasant side effects. Sore throat is one of the most notable ones if you’re using a lower-nicotine vape juice than you’re used to.
This is because lower nicotine intake in heavy users could result in a mild condition called “smokers flu,” with a common symptom — a chronic sore throat.
On the other end of the spectrum, a high nicotine level is equally likely to make you cough.
Vaping with a high nicotine strength (common in a vape liquid using nicotine salt) can be brutally harsh on your throat and lungs - even though nic salts e-liquids are quite smooth.
The higher your nicotine levels, the more irritated your respiratory tract and throat may become.
An irritated respiratory system could result in bouts of coughing. Consistent coughing from harsh vape pen pulls is a sure-shot recipe for an aching or burning sensation in your throat.
If you experience consistent coughing when vaping, try lowering your nicotine levels or switching to freebase nicotine or nicotine-free e-liquids instead.
Note: Although unlikely, if you’re completely new to vaping, diving into a very high nicotine-concentration e-liquid may put you at risk of mild nicotine poisoning. It’s best to start low and build yourself up (if that’s your goal).
Dry hits are the bane of every vaper's existence, and typically do one of three things — ruin your day, burn your vape pen, and strain your throat. If it did all three, you have our condolences.
A dry hit means that you’re vaping nothing but heated air, as there's no vape juice to be vaporized in your coil. This hot air can sear the surface of your throat, making speaking, breathing, and swallowing quite painful.
Some low-quality vaping juice products contain volatile organic compounds (like benzene and propylene oxide) or harmful chemicals like diacetyl. These chemicals are notorious for causing throat irritation, among other sinister vaping side effects.
Diacetyl, for example, is a food additive commonly used in products like microwave popcorn — and is known for causing the “popcorn lung” public health epidemic a few years back.
The Centres for Disease Control have also linked the use of vitamin E acetate in low-quality e-liquids to the development of EVALI (electronic cigarette or vaping-assisted lung injury) and lung disease.
Respiratory symptoms of EVALI include coughing, shortness of breath, and chest pain.
In these instances, being safe is always better than being sorry. So “cough up” the extra dough for high-quality vape products to avoid risky exposure and adverse respiratory symptoms.
All e-liquids blend two types of carrier liquid — propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG) — each with unique properties affecting vaping experiences based on a ratio.
PG’s main characteristic is that it produces a strong throat hit (desirable amongst heavy vapers). However, a stronger throat hit can overwhelm new or occasional vapers and likely cause a sore throat.
On rare occasions, users may even experience a PG allergy. A common symptom of having a PG allergy is a chronic sore throat.
If you experience this symptom, avoid freebase nicotine e-liquids, and use a pure VG nic salts e-liquid to reduce your allergic reactions.
We want to congratulate you if you’re a smoker who’s recently moved from cigarette smoking to vaping! While this is a big step towards better health, things might get a bit worse before they get better.
When you stop smoking tobacco cigarette products and no longer fill your lungs with tobacco smoke, the cilia (tiny hair-like structures) in your lungs become more active.
This increased activity causes your lungs to immediately start working to clear out the tar accumulated by tobacco cigarette products, leading to coughing.
This condition is commonly called “quitter cough” or “smokers flu.”
While this isn’t a pleasant experience, we suggest you take it on the chin and relish in the victory of quitting traditional cigarettes — your body will thank you in the long run.
Every vaping device is designed for either mouth to lung (MTL) or direct to lung (DTL) vaping. Inhaling through your electronic cigarette or mod vape in a way it wasn’t designed for could result in a harsh throat hit.
To prevent it, you must check your device's user guide to understand the ideal vaping method and which type of vape juice you should use with it.
You may not know this, but vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol are humectants, meaning they attract and retain moisture.
This means that they can absorb moisture from your mouth and dehydrate it, leading to conditions like ‘dry mouth’ and dry throat.
If left ignored, this dry mouth can cause bacteria to gather in the mouth and throat, possibly leading to sores, irritation in the throat, and conditions like gum inflammation and strep throat.
Large vape devices (like vape mods) have adjustable power settings. While pushing the limits on these devices can produce some impressive clouds, it can be too much to handle for most e cigarette users, likely causing a vape cough from a strong throat hit.
If you do push the limits of your coil, it’ll burn, and burnt coils are famous for producing gut-wrenching flavors.
But that’s not the worst part.
The vapor produced by a burnt coil can contain harmful chemicals. So when you puff a dry hit, you risk inhaling these toxic fumes.

Step away from the nicotine vape pen and electronic cigarettes and explore these six popular alternatives:
Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products deliver nicotine to the body in a controlled way. This consistent dose can help ease nicotine withdrawal symptoms associated with quitting smoking or vaping.
The five common NRT products include:
NRTs have different strengths, so talk to your healthcare provider about choosing the right nicotine strength.
The benefit of using NRT?
NRTs can be less addictive than vaping nicotine or smoking. This is because they deliver less nicotine to your brain and at a rate slower than vaping nicotine or smoking tobacco.
It’s all about gradually lowering your nicotine strength over time to quit nicotine and wean off any nicotine withdrawal symptoms. If you’re a heavy smoker, your nicotine dose will start strong and slowly decrease until you’re nicotine-free.
But, NRTs also come with a few risks.
Opting for NRTs means you’re still consuming nicotine — which increases the risk of long-term toxicity and continued nicotine addiction.
NRT products may also cause some side effects, including:
Research also suggests that nicotine gums and lozenges may increase the risk of oral cancer.
Don’t worry, though. There are safer alternatives that don’t contain any nicotine.

A nicotine-free vaping device lets you enjoy vaping as usual without the nasty side effects of nicotine.
Who should use nicotine-free vapes?
In any case, smokers and vapers looking to reduce their nicotine intake can continue enjoying these aspects of smoking or vaping with nicotine-free vapes. That, too, without exposing themselves to the addictive and harmful effects of nicotine.
The catch?
A low-quality vaping device can contain unregulated ingredients and may still have trace amounts of nicotine.
The solution?
Go for high-quality nicotine-free vapes from reputable and trusted brands like Cyclone Pods.

Did you know? There is stronger evidence that vaping is highly effective for smoking cessation. (Source: Public Health England)
As the name suggests, a smokeless tobacco product is designed to be used without burning or heating tobacco. This means they don’t produce any smoke, vapor, or fumes.
These products include:
Smokeless tobacco products can fulfill the social aspect of vaping or smoking, but still come with many risks. These health risks range from nicotine addiction to oral cancer, gum disease, and tooth decay.
Did you know? Secondhand smoke created by nicotine vaping contains around 2,000 harmful chemicals. This includes compounds like nicotine, ultrafine particles, and formaldehyde, a harmful chemical known to cause cancer.
Also known as heat-not-burn devices, such products heat tobacco to produce an aerosol (think fumes) you can inhale.
Heated tobacco products operate at substantially lower temperatures (350 ℃) than the heat required to burn conventional cigarettes (>600 ℃).
However, the temperature in such products is still high enough to vaporize and release harmful chemicals. These chemicals can heighten the risk of health consequences, such as heart disease, stroke, and cancer.
So how does a heated tobacco product differ from vaping devices?
Vaping devices use a battery-powered heating element to vaporize a liquid containing nicotine and other additives. In contrast, heat-not-burn products heat tobacco or other plant material to create an aerosol.
Did you know? Approximately one-third of all cancer cases can be attributed to tobacco use, with an overwhelming 90% of lung cancer cases directly linked.
Prescription medication can be an effective nicotine alternative if you aren’t looking for one that mimics the action of vaping.
These medications are taken orally and help reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings for a vaper or smoker. Here are three common medications used as a vaping alternative:
These medications should only be taken under the supervision of a healthcare provider, as they can have serious side effects — from nausea and drowsiness to heart palpitations.
Several no-nicotine substitutes can ease oral fixation by creating a distraction and helping with cravings. These include:
While these no-nicotine substitutes are relatively safer, they won’t be as effective in controlling nicotine withdrawal symptoms and cravings because they don’t address nicotine addiction.
Let’s look at the side effects associated with nicotine vaping.
Let's shed some light on the serious health risks that come hand in hand with using nicotine vaping products, impacting not only yourself but also your loved ones:
Did you know? E cigarette use among young adults has become a public health concern. The American Lung Association introduced a voluntary quit smoking program in response to this issue.
Here are some potential changes that may occur in the lungs after quitting nicotine vaping products:
Remember: The extent and speed at which your lungs and other bodily functions recover after quitting depends on how long and heavily you’ve vaped.
Quitting nicotine vaping can pose a challenge, and particularly managing cravings and withdrawal symptoms can be tough.
However, several proven strategies can help you work towards quitting smoking and vaping:
Vaping nicotine can easily become intertwined with daily routines, and certain feelings or emotions can trigger the need to vape.
Common triggers include:
Identifying and working around these triggers can increase the chances of successfully quitting vaping.
Remember those no-nicotine substitutes we mentioned earlier?
Well, those hard candies and lollipops come in handy when the urge to vape strikes. But if you’re not in the mood for something sweet, try a healthy alternative to distract yourself:
Physical exercise is the perfect healthy alternative to vaping and can help reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings.
How?
Exercise releases endorphins, which enhance mood and foster a sense of well-being and play a crucial role in supporting mental health. Engaging in physical activity can aid in alleviating the anxiety, irritability, and depression frequently associated with nicotine withdrawal.
Informing your friends and family about your decision to quit smoking or vaping can help them understand how to support and encourage you.
By doing so, friends and family can avoid using regular cigarettes or vaping products around you, helping you stay on track.
Joining a community of others trying to quit smoking or vaping can be a great way to stay accountable and receive support during the quitting process.
Finally, to prevent relapse and support your smoking cessation journey, avoid situations tied to tobacco use.
The best way to do this?
By planning ahead! Use your identified triggers to determine which situations and social events to avoid. This way, you aren’t putting yourself in a vulnerable position to pick up vaping again.
Different vaping alternatives offer different experiences and have their own pros and cons. Finding the best substitute for nicotine vaping is up to your personal preference.
But if you’re looking for a healthy, safe alternative, nicotine-free vapes are the perfect choice!

Delicious flavors and occasional vape tricks are why we love vaping, isn’t it?
But you may be shocked to know you know that vapes contain ingredients, like nicotine, that may cause several oral health risks.
Now you may be wondering — does vaping stain teeth?
The short answer is yes. Long-term nicotine exposure from vaping can dampen the shine in your smile and comes with several other oral health risks.
Worry not!
This article will prepare you for everything, from how to get vape stains off your teeth to avoiding these stains in the first place. We’ll also compare vaping stains to those caused by cigarette smoke and share a safer vaping alternative (from Cyclone Pods).

As we mentioned above, vaping does stain your teeth.
But if you’re looking to point fingers, two specific culprits are to blame for the vandalism of your teeth — nicotine and coloring agents.
Let’s shine a light on these substances to get to the bottom of this attack on your pearly whites:
Luckily, the stained teeth from coloring agents are as easy to remove – a quick round of brushing and some mouthwash should do the trick (more on this later).
Unfortunately, stained teeth caused by long-term nicotine exposure can be much more challenging to restore.
But there’s light at the end of the tunnel!
By using nicotine-free vapes, you can still enjoy the pleasures of vaping without worrying about those ugly nicotine stains. Besides, it’ll also save you from unnecessary exposure to the dental health risks and side effects of nicotine.
Here are some other unpleasant oral health risks and side effects from nicotine vaping that can impact your dental health and oral hygiene.
Also known as “cottonmouth,” dry mouth is a common oral health problem of nicotine vaping that every vaper experiences at some point.
It causes your mouth to dry up and feel parched.
Here’s why it happens:
Some humectants in e-liquids (substances that absorb moisture), like propylene glycol, can absorb most of the moisture in your mouth — leading to dryness.
Aside from causing general bad breath, dry mouth can increase plaque development and difficulty chewing or swallowing (which may lead to poor nutrition).
Long story short — drink some water when you experience a dry mouth. A breath mint wouldn't hurt, either.
Nicotine restricts blood flow to the gums, regardless of whether it’s vaped or smoked. This dramatically increases the risk of developing gum disease.
If left untreated, these infections may lead to gum inflammation conditions like gingivitis or periodontal disease (a less common but severe oral health problem).
But that’s not all.
Some nicotine e-liquids may contain chemicals like benzene and formaldehyde, which can further increase the risk of developing gum tissue disease.
Sugary candies and soft drinks have a new ally in vapes in their battle against healthy teeth.
Vaping can increase bacteria levels in the mouth, leading to:
Note: Adults over 20 should have an oral cancer screening every three years, and adults over 40 should have annual screenings.
Moving on, the aerosols from vaporizing a sweet-flavored vaping liquid have chemical and physical properties similar to high-sucrose acidic drinks and gelatinous candies.
A 2018 study revealed that these aerosols increase bacteria adhesion to tooth enamel by four times (x4), especially in the lining of the gums. This significantly increases the risk of needing a root canal or dental crown caps down the road.
The nicotine in vapes and tobacco products is a stimulant — and a highly addictive one at that.
It’s known to give you a sudden increase in energy levels, contributing to restlessness.
So when you vape nicotine, it can induce or worsen restlessness symptoms like teeth grinding or clenching — typically during sleep.
If untreated, bruxism can wear away at tooth enamel and cause jaw pain, tooth sensitivity, headaches, and potentially tooth loss.
Together, nicotine-induced bruxism and teeth staining can wreak havoc on the protective enamel and compromise your dental health severely.
Vaping (as well as smoking cigarettes) can cause gum recession due to the death of gum tissue from nicotine.
Gum recession causes your gum tissue to pull away from your teeth, exposing the roots underneath. It's a fairly uncommon (but severe) gum disease. While it can’t be cured, timely treatment can help prevent the condition from worsening.
If you don’t want to dish out thousands of dollars for cosmetic dentistry, we have a few easier ways you can whiten and strengthen the enamel on your teeth. Here are two common methods you can try:
No, vaping doesn't stain your teeth more than smoking traditional cigarettes.
While nicotine can stain and damage your teeth over time, it's incomparable to the damage caused by the tar and ash in cigarette smoke.
Here’s the deal:
The tar in tobacco cigarette smoking fills the pores in your teeth, causing excessive and faster tooth discoloration (yellow teeth) over time. Luckily, vapes do not contain tar, so their teeth staining effect is less severe than cigarette smoking.
But there’s no surprise there. Experts believe that traditional cigarette smoking is much more damaging to your health than vaping. And some of these cigarette smoking effects can be mitigated to an extent through vaping.
We now know that the teeth staining from vaping nicotine is significantly less severe than from smoking tobacco cigarettes.
However, nicotine is the common link between the two. By eliminating nicotine from your vaping routine, you can mitigate the risk of developing yellow teeth.
Welcome nicotine-free vapes to the stage.
As mentioned before, nicotine-free vapes drastically reduce the risk of tooth stains from vaping. They are gaining popularity for offering an incredible vaping experience without exposing users to nicotine's unnecessary and harmful side effects!
And that’s not all!
The absence of nicotine in these vapes also reduces the harshness and throat irritation that you commonly experience while using regular cigarettes and vapes.
The best part?
Nicotine-free vapes allow you to experience richer and more diverse flavor profiles from vaping liquid without sacrificing your confidence to smile!
If you want to step up your vaping experience, we know just where to go.
Let’s recap — vaping nicotine can cause tooth discoloration, bad breath, mouth sores, tooth sensitivity, and mouth cancer.
It seems like enough reasons to tip your favor toward quitting vaping (or, at the very least, improve your oral hygiene beyond the need to prevent cavities).
But why give up something you love when you can simply switch to a safer alternative?

Besides, there may be potentially harmful chemicals as well.
With countless brands and unclear guidelines from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), you might wonder: what am I inhaling when vaping?
In this post, we'll look closer at the common vape juice ingredients and uncover the process of making vape juice.
Then we’ll introduce you to high-quality, nicotine-free vapes and address some questions about vape juice ingredients.

Vape juice is made up of the following base ingredients:
Propylene glycol (PG) is a colorless, odorless, slightly sweet-tasting organic compound. It’s commonly used as an additive in the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries.
What makes propylene glycol such a sought-after ingredient?
Its ability to retain moisture. This property makes it an ideal ingredient for many products, from bottled coffee beverages to decadent desserts.
Question is:
When combined with vegetable glycerin in different ratios, propylene glycol forms the base of a vape liquid.
PG is a superior solvent to vegetable glycerin (VG) due to its lower viscosity. A PG-dominant e liquid will typically have an enhanced ability to carry flavors and aromas.
Here’s how PG affects your vaping experience:
While propylene glycol is considered generally safe by the FDA, it may have potential health risks when inhaled.
Note: These side effects are uncommon and generally associated with prolonged use or very high doses.
Vegetable glycerin (aka glycerine or glycerol) is a clear, mildly sweet, and odorless liquid that’s frequently used in the pharmaceuticals, food, and cosmetics industries.
Vegetable glycerine is extracted from vegetable oil, including palm, soy, and coconut oil.
VG is both a thickening agent and a sweetener in e-liquids, eliminating the need for an artificial sweetener like sucrose.
Besides, its high viscosity helps hold other vape juice ingredients together.
Here’s how VG affects your vaping experience:
And just like propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine is considered generally safe for consumption by the FDA.
However, consuming high doses of VG through an electronic cigarette may lead to some mild side effects.
What’s the ideal VG/PG ratio for vape juice?
Well, it depends on your vaping preferences…
Here are some common VG/PG ratios used for e-liquids:
The flavorings used in vape juice come from various sources, including natural and artificial food-grade flavoring and aroma additives.
These are the commonly used flavoring agents found in vape juice:
Flavoring concentrates provide vape juice with a distinct flavour and enhance the taste and aroma of the liquid. These flavors allow you to enjoy a more customized vaping experience.
The best part?
The different flavors in e-liquids are made to mimic your favorite snacks, candies, and drinks. So, don’t be surprised if you stumble across a lemonade-flavored vape.
Today, there are over 7,000 different flavors available. Some of the most popular ones include:
While these vape flavors may delight your taste buds, remember that some flavoring concentrates have potential health risks.
The possible side effects of inhaling flavorings agents in vape juice are many:
Note: Most of these side effects result from inhaling diacetyl.
Did you know? ‘Popcorn lung’ got its name from diacetyl's use as a flavoring ingredient in microwave popcorn.
Nicotine is a naturally occurring chemical compound found in the tobacco plant.
It’s a highly addictive stimulant that affects the sympathetic nervous system, leading to a range of physiological effects, including a euphoric buzz (due to a surge in ‘happy’ hormones like endorphins and dopamine).
While nicotine is the active ingredient in tobacco cigarettes and e-liquids, it’s also used in nicotine replacement therapy products to help people quit smoking. These products have different nicotine strengths, including nicotine gum, patches, lozenges, etc.
Nicotine is used in vape juice to mimic the experience of smoking a traditional cigarette.
More and more smokers are switching to vapes and e cigarettes as they are believed to be safer than tobacco cigarettes. A nicotine vape device allows you to get your daily dose of nicotine without the risk of inhaling deadly chemicals and tar found in cigarette smoke.
There are two main types of nicotine used in vape liquid — freebase nicotine and nicotine salts.
Here’s a quick overview of the types of nicotine, their strengths, and who they’re for:
What is it |
Nicotine strength |
Used in |
Ideal for |
|
Freebase Nicotine |
Pure form of nicotine |
0mg to 18mg |
High-powered, high-maintenance, Direct-to-lung vaping (DTL) sub-ohm devices |

Low-powered, easy-to-use, Mouth-to-lung vaping (MTL) devices, high nicotine absorption |
New vapers and people who need a medium or high nicotine intake |
So, how exactly do you choose the right nicotine strength?
Depending on the type of vaping experience you’re after, you can choose from different nicotine strengths. Freebase nicotine vape juice offers:
Here are the regular nicotine levels found in nicotine salt vape juice:
Interestingly, many electronic cigarette manufacturers are switching from tobacco-derived nicotine to synthetic nicotine.
Why?
Synthetic nicotine is lab-made, which means these manufacturers could circumvent the FDA regulations regarding tobacco-derived nicotine.
Ultimately, synthetic nicotine is still nicotine and can pose the same health risk as its natural counterpart.
Nicotine can harm various systems throughout the body and may cause:
The best way to eliminate these risks?
Switching to high-quality, nicotine-free vapes from companies like Cyclone Pods.
Vape liquids require water to provide better consistency and help combine the PG, VG, and flavoring agents.
Typically, vape juice contains no more than 20% water.
Besides the four base ingredients in vape juices, researchers have found that e liquid may also contain several potentially harmful chemicals:
Some of these substances are known carcinogens and can even be fatal in unsafe quantities.
And that’s why we cannot emphasize the importance of choosing high-quality vaping products free from such chemicals. So, be sure to vet your next purchase thoroughly.
Fun fact: Many seasoned vapers use a combination of the above ingredients to blend their own DIY vape juice.
Next, let’s see how a final vape juice product is created using the above ingredients.
The process of making e juice is a lengthy one that requires precision.
So, given that vape juice might even contain harmful chemicals, what’s the safest option for a vaping enthusiast?
If you’re looking for high-quality vape products that can mitigate the side effects of nicotine and other harmful chemicals, look no further than Cyclone Pods!

Next, let’s answer some questions about vape juice ingredients you may still have.
No, vape juice gets its sweetness from flavouring agents and dilutants (propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, or both.)
On average, vape juice contains roughly 5 calories per 1ml. So, a 20ml bottle of e-liquid contains about 100 calories.
No, e juice doesn’t contain any anti-freeze. People often mistake propylene glycol for ethylene glycol, a toxic chemical present in antifreeze. Ethylene glycol can be deadly if ingested.
However, some antifreeze brands use propylene glycol in their formula, so many fear they might be vaping antifreeze.
Vape juice is a blend of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, flavorings, nicotine, water, and other ingredients.
While the FDA considers most of these ingredients safe for consumption, some low-quality and unregulated vape juice products may contain harmful chemicals that can severely impact your health.
Thankfully, you can negate many of these risks by opting for a high-quality nicotine-free vape device.

Electronic cigarettes and vape pens are often considered safer than traditional cigarettes.
But it’s important to note that vapes still contain harmful chemicals.
A vape pen works by heating a liquid mixture of:
Once heated, the vaping liquid turns into a vapor inhaled via a mouthpiece and exhaled through the nose or mouth.
And as the largest organ in our body, our skin is susceptible to damage by some of the ingredients in electronic cigarettes (just like with traditional cigarettes!)
The main culprits?
Ingredients like nicotine, formaldehyde, diacetyl, and propylene glycol are found in vape juice — which can harm your skin in many ways.
Let’s delve deeper into the skin related and oral health issues that vaping can cause.
Acne is a common skin problem that predominantly affects teens and young adults.
Vaping can have a negative effect on your skin, making it dull and dehydrated. When the skin becomes dry, it produces more oil and sebum, contributing to clogged pores and increasing the risk of developing acne breakouts.
Here’s the deal:
Propylene glycol is a compound that retains moisture (humectant) in vaping products.
But what happens when you vape propylene glycol?
It can absorb moisture from the mouth, throat, and lungs, leading to dehydration and dry skin.
And that’s not all.
The hand-to-mouth movement in vaping can transfer bacteria from the hands to the face, further contributing to acne breakouts.
Note: While uncommon, propylene glycol exposure can also lead to an allergic reaction. This can amplify dryness and other skin issues.
According to the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, vaping liquids can cause contact dermatitis.
Contact dermatitis is a skin condition that develops when the skin is exposed to an irritant — resulting in symptoms like inflammation, itchiness, blisters, and more.
The study also concludes that an e cigarette user is six times more likely to develop contact dermatitis than an individual who doesn’t vape.
But what ingredients in vapes cause contact dermatitis?
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that low-level exposure to formaldehyde vapor can cause contact dermatitis in sensitive individuals.
What’s formaldehyde?
It’s a harmful chemical produced when the liquid in the vaping device is vaporized.
Besides, some flavoring agents and other additives in vaping liquids, like nickel, can cause skin sensitization and allergic reactions on contact.
Remember:
If you develop contact dermatitis from vaping, it's essential to stop using the vaping product immediately and consult a dermatologist.
The presence of nicotine in vaping liquids and formaldehyde in vape aerosols can accelerate the aging process.
Nicotine is known to narrow blood vessels, reducing blood flow to the skin and depriving skin cells of oxygen and essential nutrients vital for healthy skin. This lack of nutrients can lead to premature aging.
And it gets worse.
Nicotine can also damage and cause inflammation to collagen and elastin fibers, essential for maintaining your skin's elasticity and firmness. Over time, this can wrinkle the skin and lead to fine lines and sagging.
Similarly, formaldehyde can cause DNA damage, leading to premature aging.
It’s also a known carcinogen that can increase the risk of myeloid leukemia (cancer of blood and bone marrow.).
Can vaping cause skin cancer?
There is no direct link between vaping and skin cancer.
Additionally, when you vape, you repetitively pucker your lips, stretching the skin around the mouth.
This repetitive vaping action, along with the harmful chemicals in vaping liquids, can damage healthy skin around your mouth, also known as “smoker’s wrinkles.”
And, yes, the same applies to cigarette smokers!
Every time you vape, you risk developing brown spots and discoloration on the skin, also known as skin hyperpigmentation. Once these appear, they can be tricky to get rid of.
So, what causes skin hyperpigmentation?
This skin condition occurs when there’s a build-up of melanin (a dark pigment that colors our eyes, hair, and skin). In excess, melanin can lead to dark spots and discolorations on the skin.
Here’s how vaping can trigger melanin production:
Studies show chemicals in vaping devices and electronic cigarettes can harm cells and lead to inflammation. This causes excess melanin production and eventually develops brown spots on the skin.
Studies based on traditional cigarette smoking reveals that nicotine can substantially reduce your body’s ability to heal wounds.
How?
As mentioned before, nicotine can constrict blood vessels, which reduces blood flow to the skin, especially in the microvessels. The inadequate blood flow to skin cells makes it more difficult for the body to repair injuries.
Additionally, nicotine can increase the risk of blood platelets (which play a critical role in blood clotting) getting sticky and clumping together.
Although rare, several reported instances of vaping-related burns and lesions exist. Such vaping mishaps can happen suddenly and can cause serious injuries.
The most common cause includes vape battery explosion (more likely in low-quality and unregulated products.)
As per an NCBI report on e-cigarette-related injuries from 2010-2019, only 69 burn-related injuries were reported to the National Poison Data System.
Here are some important statistics:
The body part most frequently affected?
The face, including the lips, tongue, eyes, and nose.
Did you know? In a study about cigarette related fires and burns in New Zealand, 60% of the 1097 smokers surveyed said they’d incurred at least one burn injury from traditional cigarettes.
Saliva is one of your body’s natural defenses against plaque bacteria. But because of the mouth-drying effects of vaping, you produce less saliva when you vape.
Meaning?
Lower saliva production can lead to a multiplication of plaque bacteria in your mouth and increases the risk of infection below the gum line.
If left untreated, this infection can become gingivitis, periodontal disease, and other forms of gum disease.
Also, inhaling vape aerosol can make the mouth more susceptible to oral lesions, ulcerations, and even cancer.
Vaping can also cause "black hairy tongue," where the tongue appears dark and furry due to accumulated dead cells discolored by germs.
Additionally, e cigarette users can develop an oral lichenoid reaction – characterized by white patches on the tongue, gums, and inside of the cheeks.
Now, you may be wondering:
Does vaping deform your face?
The good news is that vaping does not deform your face. No conclusive scientific studies show that vaping can cause facial deformities.
Did you know? According to the American Lung Association, a vaping device can produce dangerous chemicals like acetaldehyde and acrolein. These can cause lung disease and cardiovascular disease.
Vaping is marketed as a way to quit smoking traditional cigarettes, but it has health effects that aren’t limited to skin and oral health diseases. Nicotine vaping exposes you to nicotine and other harmful additives (formaldehyde, diacetyl, etc.)
Here’s a list of the health risks associated with e cigarette use and nicotine:
Look:
These risks have propelled vaping to become a public health concern, and they aren’t just limited to e cigarette users. Like cigarette smoke released from conventional cigarette smoking, secondhand smoke from vaping (aka vape aerosol) can linger long enough to be inhaled by someone else.
And the American Lung Association warns that prolonged exposure to secondhand smoke from vapes can cause several side effects — from severe lung damage to conditions like ‘popcorn lung.’
Did you know? According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, vaping and nicotine addiction are especially dangerous to young people with still-developing brains. This is because nicotine has a negative effect on the formation of brain cell connections.
While you can avoid the adverse health effects by practicing caution and moderation when vaping, your best bet is to use a high-quality, nicotine-free vape.
Cyclone Pods, a California-based vape company, offers vapes that use only safe, high-quality ingredients. Its vapes are designed to help you decrease your nicotine intake while providing an enjoyable vaping experience.
Cyclone Pods’ range is:

The Gust Super offers up to 5000 puffs and comes with a charging cable so you can get the most out of the device. Try the BlueRazz Ice flavor for an exhilarating experience, or go with Mango or Fruit Mint for a tropical vibe.
While there is no direct link between e cigarette use and oral herpes or cold sores, the nicotine in e-cigarettes can weaken the immune system. This makes individuals more susceptible to oral herpes and cold sores.
Vaping and traditional smoking of tobacco products can increase the likelihood of developing health complications following plastic surgery, including:
Yes, vaping can aggravate existing skin conditions, including:
Additionally, vaping can worsen naturally dry skin by making it itchy and patchy.
Vape fires and explosions are rare but can be dangerous to users and those around them.
Follow these safety tips to prevent burn injuries from a vape.
1. Use the vaping device as directed: Follow the instructions and use it for its intended purpose. And never attempt to recharge a single-use disposable vape.
2. Ensure you use the correct charger: Only use the provided charger/cable with the vape pen to ensure battery safety. Avoid using a phone or tablet charger.
3. Check the battery: Inspect it regularly for signs of damage or wear and tear, and replace it if necessary.
4. Don’t vape around flammable liquids or gases: Avoid vaping near propane and gasoline stations at all costs.
5. Protect your vape from extreme temperatures: Avoid leaving your vape in direct sunlight or a confined space, like a car, on an extremely hot or cold day.
6. Make sure to use high-quality vapes: Only use vaping liquid and devices that use premium ingredients and components.
It’s clear that vaping can affect your mouth and facial skin health. The chemicals found in e-cigarettes can cause damage to your skin, gums, teeth, and oral tissues, leading to serious health problems.
However, this doesn’t mean you must quit vaping for good.

The gut-wrenching burnt flavor from a vape pen can ruin your vaping experience, especially if you haven’t been paying close attention to your vape's e-liquid levels.
So why does your vape taste burnt?
There are seven possible reasons why you are experiencing a burnt taste while vaping, including vaping with too much power or using the wrong e-liquid for your device.
Worry not!
This article will walk you through the common causes of burnt-tasting vapes, how to fix them, and tips to prevent the nasty burnt taste.

The primary reason your vape has a burnt flavour is that the wicking material or the coil in your vape is either burnt or running dry.
What’s a coil and wick?
A coil is a spiral metal wire that generates the heat (when you press the firing button or take a pull) required to vaporize the vape liquid.
The coil is attached to a vaping wick – a cotton material that absorbs vape juice from the vape tank, allowing it to come in contact with the heating coil.
Now, in a mod vape, the coil and the wicking material (collectively called wick) are separate components that can be replaced individually.
Whereas a pod vape pen has a prebuilt combination of a heating element wrapped around cotton material inside the e-liquid pod (collectively known as an atomizer). So, if the cotton material deteriorates, the entire atomizer must be replaced.
With that out of the way, here are seven possible reasons behind a burnt or dry wick and coil.
Low e-liquid level is the most common cause behind burning the cotton wick or coil in your vape device, resulting in a scorched taste.
Here’s the deal:
If there’s no or inadequate e liquid in your vaping device, the dry cotton in your vape pen will be exposed to the heating element creating a “dry puff” or “dry hit” — leading to a nasty burnt taste shortly after.
Additionally, burnt cotton will fail to absorb e liquid adequately, worsening the taste.
What about disposable vapes?
Running low on e liquid is the most common reason your disposable vape device tastes burnt.
Generally, with disposable vapes, the battery should deplete before the e liquid does. However, there are instances where the opposite may occur.
Chain vaping is when you take multiple pulls from your vape in a row. When you take a hit from your vape, the cotton pulls e-liquid towards the heating element, which then vaporizes it.
But here’s the interesting part.
Chain vaping doesn’t allow the cotton in your vape to reabsorb e-liquid fast enough, leaving them semi-dry. This results in an effect similar to running low on e-liquid — an unpleasant burnt taste.
To avoid this, wait a few seconds between pulls for the e-liquid to reabsorb.
All good things need to end. In the case of vaping, it's your coil's lifespan. As the coil ages, they are more prone to cause burnt cotton and a terrible aftertaste.
Look:
Your coil or wick deteriorates over time as you continue to use your vape repeatedly (especially the refillable ones.)
But they deteriorate much faster if you mix e-liquids frequently or refill your vape at the last moment before running dry.
If your vape liquid levels are high and you are sure the cotton in your vape isn’t scorched, a burnt taste means it’s time to replace your atomizer or wick.
Note: If you have a pod-based vape system, you must replace the entire atomizer. Mod vapes allow you to reuse your vape tank with a replaceable coil and wick.
Mod vapes require extra time and effort to set up than pod-based systems. For instance, their coil wick must be “primed” before taking a puff.
Here’s why it’s crucial.
The dry cotton material in a mod vape’s coil wick is packed quite compactly, unlike the more porous cotton material in a pod system. So, if it’s not saturated enough, it’ll burn quickly.
This means that you must pre-saturate the wicking material in a mod vape with e-liquid before the vape tank is fully assembled and filled with vape juice.
We don’t blame you for playing around with the power output of your mod vape to push your cloud-forming ability to its limits. But while this is fun, high-power vaping may be too much for your wick to handle.
High-power vaping can cause e-liquids to vaporize faster than usual. If your wick can’t saturate fast enough, it’ll dry out quickly, resulting in burning.
So it’s best to set your vape device at the manufacturer's recommended wattage.
If you’re not cleaning out your vape juice tank regularly, e-liquid residue (aka coil gunk) can build up on the surface of the heating element (coil).
This happens because some e-liquids contain ingredients that don’t fully vaporize when heated. Such ingredients end up sticking to the heating element.
This residue can also thicken your e-liquid.
What can you expect?
This coil gunk will eventually result in an overpowering “caramelized” or “burnt sugar” taste from your vape — which we assure you is not as tasty as it sounds. If left unresolved, the coil gunk can also roast your coil completely.
Different vape device styles can require different types of e-liquids.
Why?
Atomizers and wicks in vapes are designed to vaporize e-liquids of varying consistencies. And that’s why your device may require an e-liquid with specific thicknesses, vegetable glycerin to propylene glycol (VG-PG) ratio, nicotine strength, and ingredients).
Vaping with the wrong e-liquid type can strain your wick or atomizer, significantly reducing its longevity — which could be why your vape tastes burnt.
So how do you pick the right e-liquid for your device?
Pod vape atomizers typically need e-liquids with higher VG concentrations – like nicotine salts – since they produce less vapor and use less power.
In contrast, mod vapes with a coil head and wick pair well with freebase e-liquids, which are suitable for high vapor production and power output.
Now that we’ve covered the probable causes of a burnt vape taste, let’s review some quick fixes to eliminate that roasted vape flavor.
Here are some tips you can use to remove the burnt taste from your vape:
• If you have a mod vape, cleaning your coil head may eliminate the burnt taste from your vape.
But what if you can prevent the burnt vape taste from happening at all?
Here are some tips for that:
“Prevention is better than cure.” Save these tips for a worry-free vaping experience and avoid that unpleasant burnt taste.
Keeping your eye on your e-liquid levels is the best way to prevent your vape from running dry and feeding you burnt hits.
And keep a bottle of e-liquid with you while away from home so you’re never left stranded with dry hits.
Depending on your device, you should plan a schedule for replacing your vape's atomizer or wick to prevent them from getting old and experiencing burnt hits.
A high-VG vape juice is usually thicker and has higher sugar content. Over time, they can create more residue buildup in your tank and coils than other e-liquids — reducing your coil's lifespan and creating a burnt flavor.
Chain vaping has no real benefit unless you’ve been rescued from a deserted island and haven’t had a puff in days.
Relax, and take your time.
A quick 10-25 second break between each puff will give your coil time to saturate again.
Additionally, it takes around eight seconds for the nicotine in your vapor to fully absorb. While it isn’t necessary to wait between each puff, it can elevate your vaping experience and reduce dry hits (and taking in some oxygen in between will do you good!).
Colder temperatures can increase the viscosity (thickness) of e-liquids. As they become thicker, it’s more difficult to absorb into the wicking material.
The ideal temperatures for vaping are between 32-95°F (0-35°C). If you’re vaping in temperatures far lower than this, it could be why your vape tastes burnt.
Disposable vapes are a great way to avoid having to refill, replace, and maintain your vape coil. A disposable vape pen is also less prone to coil burning since it has a low-wattage battery, which depletes before the e liquid does.
Besides, disposable vapes are easy to use and require no additional thought to prevent a burnt hit — just don't chain-vape them too often.
But that’s not all.
If you want to elevate your vaping experience further, a disposable vape taste flavor is much richer in nicotine-free vapes!

If you’re lucky (and catch it early), you might be able to remove the burnt taste from your vape with a quick top-up of vape juice.
However, if you've burnt the cotton material, the only recourse is to replace it.
The flavor of a burnt coil is often described as tasting like charred marshmallows (in sweeter vape flavor e-liquids) or burnt paper (in savory flavors like tobacco).
This is unpleasant, but it gets worse.
Depending on the severity of your burnt coil, you might end up choking or vomiting when inhaling the vapor. Some coils can produce harmful chemicals when charred, which you can inhale through the vapor when taking a burnt or dry puff.
Play it safe by replacing your coil when you notice your vape tasting burnt.
If a properly primed new coil is tasting burnt, it could mean it's faulty. But, before replacing the coil or vape, try the following tests:
• Check the wattage: Ensure you set the recommended wattage for your coil. Using the incorrect wattage can result in a burnt taste.
• Check the e liquid level: You must maintain sufficient vape juice levels in your tank or pod to keep the coil saturated.
• Ensure you’re using an e-liquid with optimal PG/VG ratio: Match the coil head size with the right PG/VG ratio. Smaller vape coils generally need thinner juice (higher PG volume), while bigger ones need high VG e-liquid.
• Adjust airflow: If you’re using a vape device with customizable airflow, like a box mod, experiment with airflow settings by opening the airflow up to see if the taste improves. Inadequate airflow can cause a burnt taste.
If you’re looking for an effective way to clean your mod vape coil, here’s what you need to do:

A vape (aka vaporizer or electronic cigarette) works by heating an e liquid to release inhalable vapors.
Vapes have a battery source that powers a heating element (coil) that vaporizes vape juice in a small chamber (vape atomizer). From there, the user inhales the vapor by using a small mouthpiece.
The whole vaping mechanism aims to simulate how you would smoke a regular cigarette.
The main difference?
The e liquid in vape products evaporates compared to the burning of tobacco leaves in cigarettes.
While many experienced vapers shop a la carte for different vape parts, beginners are advised to stick to pre-packaged pod systems for ease of use.
Did you know? Vaping as we know it today began in 2003 when medical researcher Hon Lik patented and manufactured the first electronic cigarette. He did it to put an end to his smoking habit.
Vape juice or e liquid typically contains:
Besides, some low-quality and unregulated vape juices can also contain other harmful ingredients, including:
While it’s debatable how many of these ingredients are considered safe, nicotine is both addictive and harmful to your health.
Did you know? Diacetyl, commonly used in flavored e liquids, can cause ‘popcorn lung,’ a distinctive form of lung disease that blocks airflow.
Vaping nicotine is considered much safer (90% safer, per experts) than traditional cigarette smoking.
Here’s the deal:
Cigarette smoke produced by burned tobacco contains roughly 7000 dangerous chemicals. 70 of these toxins can cause cancer. Additionally, secondhand smoke produced by regular cigarettes harms those around the smoker and remains a public health concern.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have compiled a list of haunting statistics showing how harmful smoking tobacco can be to your health. It has led to the following:
But on the other hand, e cigarette aerosol has roughly 2000 chemicals - much lower than tobacco smoke.
Besides, e cigarette aerosol doesn’t include two of the most dangerous chemicals found in tobacco smoke from regular cigarettes — tar and carbon monoxide. Inhaling carbon monoxide stops your body from using oxygen effectively, potentially harming the heart, brain, and other vital organs.
Overall, vaping has a much smaller impact on your lungs and other bodily systems than cigarettes.
Having said that, vaping is only as safe as the quality of the ingredients in the vape juice.
As mentioned, low-quality vapes contain harmful ingredients and may pose health risks. To ensure a safe vaping experience, stick to a high-quality nicotine-free vaping product.
Below are some possible side effects of vaping nicotine and other harmful additives, like diacetyl and formaldehyde:
Pregnant women should avoid nicotine at all costs. Doctors and medical professionals advise against nicotine use among pregnant women due to the harm it may cause the baby.
Studies show that vaping or smoking nicotine can harm fetal health.
Vaping is unsafe for teens and young adults, primarily because of the high levels of nicotine that most vapes contain.
So, what does this mean for teens who vape?
The human brain continues developing until age 25, and nicotine use can impact brain development in a young person.
How?
When you inhale nicotine, it disrupts the formation of brain cell connections. This can lead to long-lasting cognitive and behavioral impairments, affecting learning, attention performance, impulse control, and more.
Another study found that young adults who vape nicotine, or THC (through cannabis), or both, were more likely to experience mental health issues, like depression and anxiety, than those who don’t.
Additionally, using nicotine during adolescence may also increase the risk of future addiction to traditional cigarettes and other drugs.
Despite such risks, teen vaping has increased over the years.
As per the 2022 National Youth Tobacco Survey, more than 2.5 million U.S. middle and high school students use vaping devices.
Further findings from the National Youth Tobacco Survey show that 3.7% (1 million) of all middle and high school students reported using some form of combustible tobacco product.
The most common tobacco product used?
Electronic cigarettes, with nearly 85% of users opting for flavored e cigarettes.
Most teens who vape use disposable devices that are compact, cheap, and come in various flavors. These tempting flavors and easy access to low-quality sneaky devices are the primary reasons for the surge in teen vaping.
And that’s not all.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC), 99% of vape products sold in the United States contain nicotine.
The worst part?
Some vape liquids are marketed as nicotine-free despite containing nicotine.
The federal minimum age to purchase and use tobacco and electronic cigarette products in the United States is 21.
The underlying law, often called Tobacco 21, came into effect in December 2019 as a response to the vaping epidemic, raising the legal age to purchase tobacco products from 18 to 21 years.
The new federal minimum sale age applies to all retail establishments and persons with no exceptions. Non-compliance could result in penalties and legal repercussions.
Learn more about the Tobacco 21 law and its implications here.
Did you know? Vaping nicotine among American youth doubled between 2017 to 2019, making it the largest increase in adolescent substance use ever recorded. The US Surgeon General declared a national vaping epidemic in 2018.
Yes, vaping does have its plus points.
Since its conception, vapes or electronic cigarettes have evolved quite a bit.
Here are the six most common types of vape devices in the market:
Not all disposable vaping devices are rechargeable.
If your device is rechargeable, it will have a USB port and ship with a charging cable.
A non-rechargeable vape pen won’t have battery overcharge protection, and trying to recharge it could be risky. The battery could overheat and explode, causing serious injury.
This is why a thorough understanding of battery safety is required when choosing between different vape devices.
For more information on recharging a vape, read our detailed post on How to Recharge A Disposable Vape.
Vaping for the first time is all about how you inhale the vapor. Inhaling incorrectly could lead to excessive coughing or a head-spinning nicotine rush.
Here’s what you need to do:
Keep it simple, and choose a vaping device that isn’t overly complicated and user-friendly.
For many beginners, a vaping starter kit is an ideal way to start their vaping journey as it comes equipped with the device, flavor pods, and a charger (if it’s rechargeable.)
Now:
There are two main inhalation techniques — mouth-to-lung (MTL) and direct-to-lung (DTL) — and every vape device will have either mechanism.
MTL vapes (usually a pod vape or other low-powered devices) offer a draw similar to a traditional cigarette, making them popular among new vapers looking for a cigarette-like experience.
They have smaller batteries, restricted airflow, and produce less vapor, allowing manufacturers to use vape juice with higher nicotine levels.
On the other hand, DTL vapes have large external batteries, unrestricted airflow, and produce large amounts of vapour — prompting manufacturers to use lower nicotine levels in the vape juice to account for these increases.

This vaping 101 guide should help you understand the difference between the two main types of nicotine.
Before we get into the details, here’s a quick rundown of freebase and salt nicotine used in vaping e-liquids:
Manufacturing Process | Nicotine Strength | Used with | Ideal for
Nicotine Salts (Salt Nicotine) |
Made by mixing nicotine alkaloids found in tobacco plant leaves with benzoic acid. | Up to 60mg | Low-powered, easy-to-use, Mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping devices. | New vapers and people who need a medium to high nicotine intake and a smooth throat hit. |
Freebase Nicotine | Made by changing nicotine from its naturally occurring “salt state” into a pure nicotine concentration. | 0mg to 18mg | High-powered, Direct-to-lung vaping (DTL) devices. | A heavy or chain smoker looking for a stronger throat hit. |
Here are the standard nicotine levels in nicotine salt e-liquids.
Here are the standard e liquid nicotine levels in freebase nicotine vape juice:
Vaping without nicotine prevents dependence, addiction, and other side effects associated with nicotine.
Additionally, a nicotine-free vaping product with flavored e liquids can help satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt. It also provides a far smoother throat hit than vapes with nicotine.
Opt for a high-quality nicotine-free vape to avoid exposing yourself to the health risks associated with nicotine.

Vaping hasn’t been around for very long, and there’s a lot about it that people may not be fully aware of. For instance, how it affects your health or how it’s marketed.
While manufacturers promote nicotine vapes as a safer alternative to smoking, scientific studies tell a different story.
From containing harmful metals and toxic chemicals to unethical marketing campaigns and real-world health risks — this article will cover 9 scary vaping facts you probably didn’t know.

Are you ready?
Despite its claim to fame as a safer alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes, vaping still has a few skeletons in its closet.
Let’s explore nine scary vaping facts you might not know.
Let’s be honest — when you see a “cotton candy lemonade” flavored vaping device in a store, you don’t think of buying it for your parents.
The truth is that most vape pen flavors are made to appeal to teens and young adults. While e cigarette users can find the occasional “tobacco” or “menthol” flavored vape pen, the market is saturated with flavors based on fruits, candies, and energy drinks.
And there’s a reason why large tobacco companies (aka the “Big Tobacco”) do this.
Youths tend to hop on to vaping to try out the delicious flavors on offer.
After all, aren’t teenagers likelier to try their favorite ice cream flavor than a pungent tobacco product?
This irresistible flavor appeal, combined with the fact that vapes are being heavily marketed as a safer alternative to smoking, is a recipe for disaster. One which has seen vaping rates among teens and young adult crowds skyrocket in recent years!
A recent study by Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that an estimated 2.55 million US middle and high school students tried vaping in 2022 alone.
To make matters worse, the sleek and discrete designs allow youth groups to sneak and hide vapes easily.
According to an article from the Tobacco Control Journals, this creates more opportunities for adolescents to “stealth vape” in places like high school, youth groups, or home.
Fortunately, big tobacco companies are starting to face the spotlight for these unethical marketing schemes.
For example, the industry-leading electronic cigarette company Juul has recently agreed to pay $438.5 million in a settlement with 33 states and one territory over marketing its product to youth groups.
The high levels of nicotine in vapes is another pressing concern.
Vaping e-juices contain much higher nicotine levels than traditional cigarettes (a standard pod may contain nicotine that roughly equals a pack of tobacco cigarettes.)
This nicotine exposure makes vapes harmful in the long run.
Teenagers or new e cigarette users aren’t fully aware of how addictive nicotine is and often overlook the high levels in electronic cigarettes. Moreover, teens are prone to go overboard with vaping, inhaling significantly higher nicotine levels.
To make matters worse, studies reveal that people who vape nicotine are 3.6 times more likely to smoke regular cigarette products later on.
Did you know? According to a Tobacco Control Journals report, text and pictorial warnings about health hazards effectively encourage people to quit vaping and smoking conventional cigarettes.
Although you can buy safer nicotine-free vapes, they are much more difficult to find, especially in high-quality brands.
Wondering why nicotine is so addictive?
According to researchers at Yale, nicotine can directly affect the brain's mesolimbic dopamine system or “reward system.” This system controls behavioral functions essential for our survival — like the desire to eat and the satisfaction we get from it.
It turns out that nicotine (from vapes and conventional cigarettes) can hijack this system and make itself an “essential requirement” for living. This is why nicotine addiction is tricky to overcome, especially when you develop dependency early as a young person.
Studies show that nicotine exposure during teenage and adolescence hampers brain development.
How?
The human brain continues to develop until age 25, with the prefrontal cortex (PFC) being one of the last major parts of the brain to mature fully. Nicotine can alter the prefrontal cortex's synapses (connections between nerve cells).
This can have long-lasting effects on cognitive and executive functions like:
But that’s not all.
Damage to the prefrontal cortex from nicotine use may also increase the risk of developing mental health conditions like anxiety later in life.
Yes, you read that right.
Many ingredients in e-liquids, like vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol, might only cause mild discomfort if swallowed in small amounts. However, when ingested orally, liquid nicotine can have deadly effects on the human body.
This is because, unlike the nicotine in tobacco leaves, liquid nicotine is poisonous when ingested orally or absorbed via the skin. It can lead to nicotine poisoning.
Symptoms of nicotine poisoning closely mimic those of nicotine overdose, such as:
To give you a scale of how poisonous liquid nicotine is, ingesting one tablespoon of it is enough to kill an adult.
That’s half of a small 30ml e-liquid bottle.
But it can’t get worse than that, right?
Unfortunately, it does.
Vape aerosols may also contain other toxic chemicals like diacetyl and formaldehyde that can cause severe health risks and side effects when inhaled.
While we wish this meant that Led Zeppelin was performing live in your electronic cigarette, sadly, it’s exactly what it sounds like.
Low-quality e-liquids may contain trace amounts of heavy metals like arsenic, chromium, lead, manganese, cadmium, and nickel.
Heavy metals exposure increases the risk of developing cancers and health conditions.
Let’s briefly cover these metals and their effects:
Choosing to inhale heavy metals may not be wise, but at least it's your choice to make. The people around you may not be as fortunate.
By now, you may have realized that your favorite vape pod or puff bar doesn't emit just “harmless water vapor.”
Secondhand smoke from a vape may contain many constituents harmful to public health. This includes compounds like ultrafine particles, low levels of toxins known to cause cancer — and yes, you guessed it, nicotine.
The concentration of ultrafine particles in the vapor from e cigarette use is significantly higher than in tobacco smoke.
Secondhand exposure to ultrafine articles can:
And like tobacco smoke, vape aerosol constituents are not limited to ultrafine particles.
According to the American Lung Association, other chemicals in secondhand vape aerosol include diacetyl, benzene, and all the heavy metals we mentioned earlier.
According to the CDC, many of these compounds (like formaldehyde) can cause eye, nose, skin, and throat irritation.
Long-term exposure to these compounds can cause asthma in children, among other public health concerns like lung damage.
What can you do to avoid the risk?
Don’t vape indoors or around high-risk groups — like children, young adults, the elderly, or people with respiratory or heart conditions.
You can also switch to high-quality nicotine-free vapes with superior ingredients.
A 2015 US National Institute of Health report revealed that 38.8% of adolescents (under 25) used nicotine before trying alcohol or marijuana.
Why?
Because no one forms a substance use disorder (SUD) by diving straight into hard drugs like cocaine, meth, or heroin. Many Americans, especially the young adult group, often start with tobacco use, or nicotine vaping.
Due to the wide availability of vapes in the US market, a young person is more likely than ever to try vaping, which almost always ends in nicotine addiction.
Nicotine addiction is likely to lead to the subsequent abuse of other substances — typically starting with alcohol and marijuana, then moving on to more problematic substances.
And any smoker you know will assure you that a glass of whiskey or a pint of beer paired with a regular cigarette is worth its weight in gold — because each substance enhances the others' “euphoria.”
This can be a never-ending cycle with devastating long-term effects on health and addiction.
According to John Hopkins Medicine, The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved vapes as an effective smoking cessation tool for combustible cigarettes.
It’s because, like combustible cigarettes, vapes contain nicotine – keeping smokers hooked. The John Hopkins Medicine report further affirms that nicotine levels in vapes are much higher than in traditional tobacco products.
This means that vaping might even intensify nicotine addiction in smokers, making future attempts at quitting smoking cigarette or vape products even more challenging.
The truth is that there’s limited research exploring the long-term effects of e cigarette usage compared to tobacco product use.
However, existing studies by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) reveal that nicotine in vapes may severely impact cardiovascular health by restricting blood vessel function — increasing the risk of heart disease.
Scientists also believe that certain chemicals in low-quality e-liquids (like diacetyl and formaldehyde) contribute to lung-related injuries and diseases, like popcorn lung” — a severe health risk from vaping low-quality vape products.
With chemicals like formaldehyde, vitamin E acetate, and nicotine plaguing the vaping markets, it seems there’s no way to vape while mitigating its risks.
Or is there?
The truth is, vaping in all forms is bad for you. However, removing harmful chemical compounds (like nicotine) from the mix can drastically reduce the health risks and side effects of vaping.
Thankfully, companies like Cyclone Pods aim to make vaping safer and more accessible with their nicotine-free vape range.
Cyclone Pods is a US-based vape company that provides a world-class vaping product range that is free from harmful chemical compounds like:

There’s a lot of confusion on the legal age for vaping in the US, with different figures popping up for different states.
So, how old do you have to be to vape legally in the US?
In 2019, the US Food and Drug Administration set the minimum age to vape at 21 years.
This age restriction was implemented due to concerns about the growing use of tobacco products, smoking, and vaping among teens and the associated health risks and side effects.
If you're a young person below the minimum age, risking a puff could have you face penalties. However, a retailer distributing a vapor product to minors may face legal repercussions.
This article will cover everything you need to know about the legal minimum age for vaping in the US. And if you're above 21 years old - we'll introduce you to non-addictive, nicotine-free vapes for a safe experience (from Cyclone Pods).

As we discussed above, the minimum legal age to vape in the United States is 21 year.
On December 20, 2019, President Trump signed a legislation amending the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, raising the federal minimum legal age for selling or using a tobacco product from 18 to 21.
Also known as the “Tobacco 21” (or T21) legislation, this new law came into effect immediately.
The Tobacco 21 law prohibits retailers from selling any tobacco and alternative nicotine products (including non vapor and vapor products) to anyone under 21.
These vapor products include (but are not limited to) an electronic cigar, vape pen, and hookah (or shisha). A non vapor product could be any smokeless tobacco product like chewing or snuff tobacco.
Similarly, an alternative nicotine product doesn’t contain tobacco but provides a way to ingest nicotine - through chewing, inhaling, dissolving, etc. It usually contains synthetic tobacco (or nicotine) that aims to replicate a real tobacco product.
Although the T21 federal law specifically mentions tobacco cigarettes and other tobacco products, it also extends to vape laws. This is because, as of 2023, vapes and electronic cigarette devices are classified as tobacco products in the United States.
According to the FDA, this new federal minimum legal age of sale applies to all retail establishments and persons across the US without exception, contributing significantly to tobacco control.
That said, many US states had minimum age laws for buying tobacco products before the T21 law was passed.
For instance, the minimum smoking age in North Carolina and South Carolina was 18 years.
This creates a discrepancy between the federal and the state law. However, any sale of tobacco products in such states would still be subject to federal authorities’ law enforcement.
Such states are gradually raising their minimum legal age to 21 to align with the federal T21 law.
As of March 2023, 40 states have enforced the T21 law.
Now, you may be wondering — what are the penalties for underage vaping?
Let’s find out.
In the USA, selling a tobacco product (like tobacco cigarettes and vapes) to persons under the legal minimum age limit is a criminal offense — and directly violates federal law and tobacco control efforts. This will result in legal action if you're caught.
A minor, on the other hand, could face penalties if caught buying or using vapor products.
Did you know? Over 80% of adult smokers started before they turned 18, and nearly 95% started before age 21 (legal vaping age.)
Note: Vaping cannabis products is largely illegal in many states. Cannabis products have different laws and regulations than tobacco sales and products.
While this age restriction may seem harsh, it was implemented for a good reason. There are many harmful health effects caused by electronic cigarette and tobacco use, which are more severe for minors below the legal vaping age.
One of the key reasons for the T21 federal law was to curb teen access to and usage of vaping products.
Naturally, one might wonder about the law's effectiveness in achieving this goal. A 2023 report on the impact of Tobacco 21 on youth tobacco use and sales between 2012-2019 unveils some compelling insights:
This data underscores the tangible impact of the tobacco laws on teen e-cigarette usage and supports its intended objective.
These figures also highlight how the Tobacco 21 law has managed to counter the dubious marketing tactics of the ‘big tobacco’ companies.
As we look at how the T21 law affected teen e cigarette use, let's further explore why age restrictions were put in place.
There’s no denying that vaping and e cigarette use is a much safer alternative to cigarette smoking — but that doesn’t mean it’s entirely risk-free. Nicotine vaping is known to cause many public health risks and side effects, which can be more severe if you’re a young person.
In fact, a 2015 report by the National Academy of Medicine highlighted how raising the minimum age to access tobacco products to 21 could save lives.
It suggested that this law might stop around 223,000 deaths in people born from 2000 to 2019, with about 50,000 fewer deaths from lung cancer.
This scientific endorsement became the driving force behind advocacy efforts and led to the enactment of the T21 law.
Here are the common risks and side effects of nicotine vaping:
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the nicotine in vape devices can affect brain development in teens and young adults — and can cause long-term changes.
Did you know? The human brain keeps developing till the age of 25.
Smoking initiation and nicotine product use during these developing years in young people can harm the parts of the brain that control attention, impulse control, learning, and mood.
Nicotine is a highly addictive stimulant found in most vape devices and vape juice products. It’s known to form dependency quickly, leading to cravings and withdrawal over time.
Nicotine addiction often leads to compulsive use disorders, potentially causing mental health problems like anxiety later on.
E cigarette use drastically increases the risk of developing asthma and other lung conditions. Additionally, using a vaping device may worsen any pre-existing asthma or lung conditions further.
But that’s not the worst part.
Some low-quality vaping products contain harmful chemicals like diacetyl and formaldehyde. Diacetyl is the chemical in some flavoring agents that can cause bronchiolitis obliterans (aka “popcorn lung”), resulting in permanent lung scarring.
Although vapes don’t produce smoke, the vapor released can affect others around the vaper, especially indoors. Bystanders exposed to secondhand smoke from a vape may be at risk of experiencing the same side effects of vaping as the vaper.
This secondhand smoke is more severe for high-risk groups such as young children, the elderly, and persons with pre-existing lung conditions.
Research shows that nicotine has very little ability to initiate cancer growth. However, a recent study from the National Library of Medicine suggests that the nicotine in vapor can promote the growth of cancer cells in the body.
EVALI is a severe lung condition caused by vaping a chemical called vitamin E acetate — an ingredient in many low-quality vaping device products.
According to the Centres for Disease Control (CDC), EVALI is known to cause health issues such as:
Did you know? According to the National Library of Medicine, electronic smoking devices are estimated to be 95% safer than smoking a regular cigarette. This is because traditional cigarettes contain around 7000 chemicals, while electronic cigarettes only contain around 2000.
Using a nicotine product (like vape juice) can also cause several other side effects, such as:
Did you know? According to the American Lung Association, some low-quality vape pen products contain the chemical “acrolein” — a herbicide used to kill weeds.
As you can see, many of the health risks and side effects of vaping are directly linked to nicotine use.
Luckily, companies like Cyclone Pods allow us to enjoy the pleasures of vaping without unnecessary exposure to nicotine and other harmful chemicals!
Although nicotine-free vaping products contain no nicotine or tobacco, they are still classified as tobacco products in the US. This means the legal minimum age of 21 also applies to nicotine-free products.

Before picking your preferred vaping device and nicotine strength, you must choose the vapor delivery style you’ll best enjoy. Luckily, there are only two options to choose from — mouth-to-lung and direct-to-lung vaping.
Let’s look at them in depth.
With mouth-to-lung (aka MTL) vaping, you pull the vapor into your mouth before inhaling it into the lungs. It’s similar to using a straw to suck up water or pulling on a traditional cigarette.
MTL vaping has characteristics that influence the taste, mouth feel, throat hit, and overall vaping experience.
For starters, an MTL vape device has restricted airflow and lower vapor production, allowing a concentrated flavor delivery. MTL vapes use high-nicotine e-liquids to account for these restrictions in airflow and vapor production — and pack quite a punch!
Did you know? Although most MTL vape juices have high-nicotine content, nicotine-free e-liquids (like from Cyclone Pods) are gaining popularity in the MTL world. They offer the same rich flavors and smooth throat hits, minus the nicotine.
Despite delivering high flavor and nicotine levels, MTL vapes have a very smooth throat hit.
With direct-to-lung (aka DTL) vaping, the vapor is inhaled directly into the lungs by taking a normal breath. This allows for longer, deeper pulls, creating a unique vaping experience.
DTL vapes have unrestricted airflow and large power output to create these large vapor clouds. To account for the high level of vapor production, the flavor and nicotine levels in DTL vapes need to be toned down.
Once you’ve chosen your preferred vaping technique, you can pick a suitable device and e liquid.
Now, let’s learn how to vape — because that’s why you’re here!
Follow these steps to start your vaping journey and make it both safe and pleasurable:
Before you start vaping, you’ll need a vape!
Choose a vaping device (nicotine or nicotine-free) that best suits your desired vaping experience. Ensure you buy a device from a trusted vape supplier and get all the essential equipment you may need (charging cables, cleaning kits, etc.)
Once you have your device, you must choose an e liquid strength that best suits your nicotine requirements.
Seasoned cigarette smokers or vapers prefer an e-liquid with higher nicotine content. In contrast, casual smokers switching to vaping would enjoy a lower-nicotine e-liquid or even a nicotine-free e-liquid.
If you're in a rush, jump to our e-liquid nicotine levels and strengths breakdown.
When you have your device and e-liquid, it’s time to puff!
Inhaling a vape is simple if you follow the instructions for your vaping style - MTL or DTL.
Here’s what to do:
And there you have it —the basic steps you need to master the vaping technique. As promised, here’s a rundown of the types of vaping devices you can choose from.
Whether you prefer MTL or DTL vaping, nicotine vapes or nicotine-free ones, you have several types of vaping devices to choose from. Each type of device gives you a unique experience, and you should pick one that suits your vaping lifestyle.
Let’s look at the popular types of vapes available on the market today and which is ideal for you:
Disposable e-cigarettes are the most popular and easy-to-use MTL portable vapes available. A disposable e cigarette is a prefilled vape lasting between 300-5000 puffs per device.
Ideal for: First-time vapers looking to try out new flavors frequently and experienced vapers who need a no-hassle backup device.
A vape pen (dab pen or electronic cigarette) is a step up from disposable vapes as they have a refillable vape cartridge and can be recharged. Besides nicotine, vape pens are also commonly used with cannabis oil cartridges.
While a vape pen requires more maintenance, it’ll save you frequent trips to the vape shop (a lifesaver when your disposable runs out at 2 am.)
Ideal for: First-time vapers looking for a reusable vaping system and smokers looking to transition away from cigarette smoking or other tobacco products.
A vape mod (aka box mod or a mechanical vape) is a powerful direct lung (DTL) device that uses a large vape juice tank, a large vape coil, and high power output and airflow to produce massive vapor clouds.
While these large clouds are impressive, they are secondhand smoke hazards.
Ideal for: Experienced vapers looking for a customizable vaping experience and cloud chasers.
Pod mod devices are either reusable or disposable MTL vapes. These portable vapes typically use nicotine salt based e-liquids to deliver high doses of nicotine and flavor. They use a smaller sub-ohm vape coil and restricted airflow to produce less vapor.
Ideal for: Smokers who want to switch from a traditional cigarette or tobacco products to a vape kit or a regular vaper looking for a convenient second vape device.
A dry herb vaporizer uses conduction or convection heating to vaporize dry herbs. While a dry herb vaporizer is commonly used for vaping cannabis flowers, it’s also growing in popularity among tobacco users.
Dry herb vaporizers use a ceramic coil that cannot heat mediums such as cannabis oil, waxes, or liquids. This means you can’t use traditional e-liquids with them either.
Ideal for: Tobacco or cannabis users looking to reduce their exposure to harmful chemicals found in regular cigarettes and cannabis products.
Note: Vaping marijuana is largely illegal in many states of the US.
Next, we'll look at the different types of e-liquids and nicotine strength options available on the market.
Vape juice is a liquid that carries flavor and nicotine and is vaporized by your vaping device.
E-liquids usually contain four main ingredients — vegetable glycerin (VG), propylene glycol (PG), nicotine (unless nicotine-free), and flavoring.
E-juice makers may use varying ratios of VG and PG to tweak vaping characteristics like flavor intensity, throat kick, vapour production, and nicotine content (learn more in our article about nicotine vape levels.)
Before we get started, here’s a quick overview of the two types of nicotine, their strengths, and who they’re for:
Nicotine Strength | Used in | Ideal for
Nicotine salts | 25 to 60mg | Low-powered mouth-to-lung vaping (MTL) devices | First-time vapers, Ex-smokers who need a high nicotine intake with a smooth throat kick |
Freebase Nicotine | 0 to 20mg | High-powered, direct-to-lung vaping (DTL) devices | Smokers and vapers who puff in short bursts and prefer a strong throat kick |
A nicotine salt based vape juice combines nicotine alkaloid (extracted from tobacco plant leaves) with benzoic acid.
The result?
An e-liquid that can hold more nicotine than freebase e-liquids while still creating a smooth and pleasant feeling in the throat.
This is because nic salts have a lower pH than freebase nicotine and use a more VG-dominant juice as their base. A higher VG ratio allows for lower vapor production and more intense flavors.
They are also more bioavailable (higher nicotine absorption rate in the body) than freebase nicotine.
This type of e-liquid is primarily used in low-voltage, sub-ohm coil devices, such as pod-based mouth-to-lung (MTL) systems, vape pens, and disposable e cigarette devices.
Why?
These low-voltage devices have lower vapor production, preventing you from inhaling high nicotine levels with each puff.
A freebase nicotine e-liquid is made by changing nicotine from its natural “salt state” into a pure nicotine concentration.
Even at low doses, this pure nicotine creates a high nicotine strength e-liquid, making it a popular and cost-effective choice for nicotine vapers.
The higher potency of freebase nicotine creates a strong throat hit, which is often harsh to vape at higher nicotine levels.
The solution?
Relatively low nicotine level in the e-juice (than nicotine salt based juice).
Freebase e-liquids are commonly used in mod vapes with high power output and unrestricted airflow. For this reason, they need to be toned down in the flavor and nicotine departments to account for the large increase in vapor production.
What you’re left with is a perfect balance between vapor production and nicotine potency.
The best part?
If you are a “cloud-chaser” who enjoys doing the occasional vape trick with an electronic cigarette, freebase e-liquid is the perfect choice for you!
While these two types of nicotine-e-liquid are very different, they share one commonality — nicotine. And we all know that nicotine is a highly addictive substance that brings many health problems with it,
But what if you want to take a safer route and completely avoid vaping nicotine?
We’re glad you asked!
Nicotine-free e-liquids are similar to regular e-juices but exclude nicotine!
Like nic salts, nicotine-free e-liquids use a VG-dominant base to create a smooth throat kick and a rich flavor profile.
Nicotine-free e-liquids are growing in popularity, especially in pod vapes and disposable devices.
Why?
Vaping without nicotine exposes you to far fewer harmful chemicals than traditional e-liquids. This reduces the risks of side effects like nicotine addiction!
Here are the answers to some vaping-related questions that may pop up in your mind.
First-time vapers using nicotine e-liquids will likely experience a “nicotine buzz” (headrush).
A nicotine buzz makes you lightheaded, a side effect that occurs less as use continues. Your brain and body will gradually build up a tolerance to nicotine, reducing the impact of a headrush.
If you’re an ex tobacco cigarette smoker, you may already be familiar with headrushes.
It’s difficult to give you an exact number of puffs, but if you’re an ex-smoker, these comparisons to a tobacco cigarette may help.
Unfortunately, there are many side effects linked to vaping nicotine e-liquids. Here are the six main side effects you may experience when vaping nicotine:

Switching from combustible cigarettes to nicotine vaping is a growing trend among smokers trying to kick the habit.
Question is: What happens when you quit smoking and start vaping?
The good news is that when you make the switch, you may be able to reverse some of the damage done by smoking. This could lead to many immediate and short-term changes like improved lung function, as well as long-term effects like reduced risk of a heart attack.
Although nicotine vaping may be less harmful than traditional cigarettes, it’s not completely risk-free.
Let’s delve deeper into the changes you experience when switching from smoking to vaping, why vaping may be safer than smoking, as well as the side effects of vaping nicotine.
Then, we’ll introduce you to high-quality, nicotine-free vape products from Cyclone Pods and answer some questions about making the switch.

Smokers who’ve made the jump from cigarettes to nicotine vapes may experience several immediate and long-term physical and mental benefits.
But did you know these changes can start as soon as 20 minutes after your last smoke?
Let’s look at these changes to see what typically happens when you switch from a tobacco cigarette to a vape pen.
20 minutes after giving up smoking, your heart rate and blood pressure drop to normal levels. At this point, you may not have even switched to vaping. So it’s just the tip of the iceberg regarding the benefits of ‘not smoking.’
Note: The nicotine ingested via cigarette smoking increases your heart rate by as much as 10-15 bpm (beats per minute).
After 2 hours, your blood circulation improves. This is when you would begin to experience the effects of nicotine withdrawal, but using a nicotine vaping device can help curb these effects.
8 hours after you quit smoking and start vaping, the oxygen in your blood returns to normal levels.
How?
Unlike cigarette smoke, the vapor produced by an electronic cigarette doesn’t contain carbon monoxide, allowing your body to eliminate the previously inhaled carbon monoxide.
Within 24 hours of quitting smoking and switching to vaping, all residual carbon monoxide is removed from your system. Your lungs also work to remove other toxic debris and mucus from smoking.
After 48 hours, you’ll most likely notice an improved sense of taste, making foods and beverages more enjoyable. You’ll also enjoy a keener sense of smell after quitting smoking.
This happens because your body begins repairing the nerve endings in your mouth and nose previousky damaged by the toxic chemicals in cigarettes.
72 hours after you’ve switched to vaping, you may notice an overall improvement in breathing. This improved breathing is due to the clearance of smoking-related mucous - known to clog and irritate bronchial tubes.
If you quit cold turkey, you will begin to experience nicotine withdrawal symptoms at this stage.
After 3-9 months of quitting smoking and continuing to vape, you should see a significant reduction in smoking-related shallow breathing, coughing, and wheezing. For some, these symptoms may completely disappear in this timeframe.
You experience these incremental improvements in lung function as your body removes harmful debris from smoking.
Within the first year of giving up smoking cigarettes, your risk of developing heart disease reduces by half. So does the risk of having a stroke.
5 years later, your risk of having a heart attack reduces by about 50%. The longer you go without smoking a traditional cigarette, the lower your risk.
Finally, within 10 years, your risk of developing lung cancer drops by about half of what it was when you were smoking.
Additionally, your risk of a heart attack falls to roughly the same as someone who’s never smoked. Impressive, huh?
Now you may be wondering…
The truth is: Both smoking cigarettes and nicotine vaping have health risks.
The difference?
Vaping has a much smaller impact on your lungs and other bodily systems than combustible cigarettes. In fact, Public Health England deems vaping 95% less harmful than smoking.
The cigarette smoke produced by burned tobacco contains about 7000 harmful chemicals. 70 of which can cause cancer. Besides, secondhand smoke from cigarettes harms people near the smoker and is a public health concern.
In contrast, e cigarette aerosol contains roughly 2000 chemicals - much lower than cigarette smoke.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), smoking tobacco products causes:
What does science say?
In a 2022 study, researchers found an association between smoking tobacco products and several health risks, including:
Another reason vaping is safer than smoking?
E cigarette aerosol doesn’t contain two of the most harmful chemicals found in tobacco smoke from cigarettes - carbon monoxide and tar. Inhaling carbon monoxide prevents your body from using oxygen properly, potentially harming the brain, heart, and other organs.
While nicotine vaping products may be less harmful than a traditional cigarette, it's not entirely risk-free.
Did you know?
As per the Surgeon General’s Report, electronic cigarette use among youth is a major public health concern. The report also states that electronic cigarettes are the most commonly used tobacco product among the youth of America. (Source: American Lung Association)
Vaping liquids containing nicotine comes with undeniable health risks. These include:

Another benefit of Cyclone Pods’ vaping products?
Flavored, nicotine-free vapes can satiate the increased sugar craving you may experience post quitting cigarettes.
The following questions will answer any lingering questions about switching from smoking to vaping.
Most e cigarette manufacturers say that 10 puffs of a vape roughly equals about 10 puffs of a cigarette. To put this in perspective, a regular cigarette gives you around 7-10 puffs.
Let’s break it down further:
The average nicotine vape juice pod is 1ml and provides approximately 100 puffs, about 10 cigarettes. So, 2 ml of vape juice equals one pack of cigarettes.
Nicotine is always a no-go during pregnancy. Healthcare professionals always advise pregnant women against smoking or vaping nicotine because of its potential harm to the baby.
Research shows that smoking or vaping nicotine can harm fetal health.
A 2021 study found that daily e cigarette use among tobacco smokers can increase the chances of quitting smoking by eightfold.
Unlike cigarette smoking, vape juice has various nicotine strengths, so you can control how much nicotine you need to cope with cigarette cravings and nicotine withdrawal symptoms.
And by slowly decreasing your daily intake, you can gradually reach complete smoking cessation, becoming nicotine free.
Several NRTs (Nicotine Replacement Therapy) are available to cigarette smokers looking to overcome withdrawal symptoms and nicotine addiction. These include:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention proposes using a combination of NRTs to successfully help you beat cigarette cravings and nicotine addiction.
Cigarette smokers trying to quit often use vaping as a smoking cessation tool. Once you’ve made the switch, changes in your body happen almost immediately.
However, while nicotine vaping can repair some of the damage caused by smoking, it still poses its own set of health risks.
The best way to continue vaping stress-free?
High-quality, nicotine-free vape products from Cyclone Pods, of course!
Disposable vapes are convenient and affordable, but their smaller batteries often run out before the juice does.
So you may be wondering — can you recharge a disposable vape? And if yes, how?
Yes, you can safely recharge disposable vapes with a rechargeable battery if you follow the steps correctly.
This article will explain how to recharge a disposable vape and some risks and safety tips you should know.
We’ll also answer common questions about the subject and introduce you to a high-quality rechargeable disposable vape device (from Cyclone Pods).

Let’s get started!
Yes, you can safely recharge a disposable vape pen — but there’s a catch.
Not every disposable is a rechargeable vape, and knowing the different types of disposables is vital.
The two main types of disposable vapes are - single-use and multi-use disposables.
Note: These disposable vapes come in various nicotine levels and ratios of vegetable glycerin (VG) and propylene glycol (PG).
Only a multi-use disposable e cigarette is designed to be recharged. You may come across DIY hacks to recharge single-use disposable vapes and increase their puff count — but refrain from doing that!
These hacks require you to forcibly dismantle the disposable electronic cigarette and recharge it using an altered micro USB wire charger. This procedure may pose some severe safety risks (more on that later).
Moving on, if you’re not in the mood to play MacGyver with your vapes and just want to charge your multi-use disposable, we’ve got you covered.
Recharging a disposable electronic cigarette (that's intended to be recharged) is a straightforward procedure.
Here’s what to do:
Multi-use disposable vapes have a charging port (or USB port) on either end of the device or the side. You’ll need to insert the charging cable (typically micro USB or USB C types) here.
Most rechargeable disposal vape devices ship with a charging cable. If yours didn't come with a USB charger — don't worry!
You probably have a compatible phone charging cable lying around the house. If not, a USB-C or micro USB cable is inexpensive and easy to find, and you should be able to pick one up from your local electronics store or vape shop.
Check the instructions leaflet in the packaging to identify the correct type of micro interface for your vape device before purchasing one. Once you have the right cable, insert it into the USB port of your rechargeable disposable vape pen.
Next, plug the other end of the USB cable into your laptop or power brick.
Note: Some rechargeable vape devices can use your phone charger. In most cases, you can safely use a low-wattage Android phone charger. Unfortunately, your apple charger won’t fly here.
Voila!
Wait roughly a few hours, and you’ll return to vaping in no time.
Let’s go over some essential safety tips for recharging a rechargeable disposable vape pen.
To recharge your vape safely, avoid overcharging or using it while charging. Follow the instructions provided with your device during purchase, and you’ll be good to go!
Most importantly, you should never attempt to recharge a non rechargeable disposable vape.
Why?
Single-use disposable vapes contain batteries not designed to be recharged. So when you “hot wire” them with a makeshift USB charger, you might be playing with fire (literally!) and expose yourself to unnecessary risks.
Let’s put it this way: Think of disposable vape batteries like the batteries in a TV remote. You can either use a standard “one-use” battery or a rechargeable battery.
While both types of batteries work well in your TV remote, you wouldn't risk your safety recharging a one-use battery with some dangerous DIY hack.
So why try it with your vape battery just to get a few extra puffs of cool mint?
And that’s not all.
Remember, the batteries in single-use disposables are designed to last for the amount of e-liquid they contain.
This means that by recharging your single-use disposable with depleted battery life, you may end up vaping a dry and burnt coil. This would neither be pleasant to vape nor good for your lungs.
Recharging a disposable vape battery may:
With a low risk-to-reward ratio, it makes more sense to buy a new disposable vape kit when yours is finished — or buy a reusable vape instead.
Now that you’ve got the ins and outs of disposable vape pens, let’s go over some questions you may still have.
Here are the answers to some other questions about recharging disposable vapes:
Easy — you don’t!
Unless your vape did not come with a charging cable due to a packaging error, you shouldn't attempt to recharge your disposable vape.
The most common way to know your vape needs to be charged is a flashing LED light on the side or bottom of the device — which flashes when you attempt to take a puff.
Another indicator that your vape has a low battery capacity is a weakened taste of the flavor when puffing (which is usually accompanied by reduced vapor production.) If you notice these signs, it’s time to recharge!
Depending on your disposable vape pen brand, it can take between 30 minutes to four hours to fully recharge.
Ensure you read the instructions provided with your device carefully to determine the optimal duration for charging.
Many reputable online vape shop brands offer high-end disposable vapes like the puff bar from Elf Bar, Hyde IQ, and Hyde Edge.
However, if you’d like to take your health and vaping experience to the next level, check out the nicotine-free disposable vape pen range from Cyclone Pods!

Before diving into the different types of vaping devices, let’s quickly cover the common vaping styles or delivery systems.
There are broadly two types of vapor delivery systems – mouth-to-lung (MTL) and direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping. Regardless of the vaping device you use, it’ll always fall under one of these two styles of vapor delivery.
As the name suggests, MTL vape devices pull the vapor into your mouth before inhalation, and DTL devices allow you to inhale vapor directly into the lungs.
While these delivery systems may seem similar, they offer different vaping experiences. Each method delivers nicotine, flavors, and vapor into your system differently.
Here’s an overview of MTL and DTL vapes:
With that covered, let’s look at the different types of vaping devices available in your nearest vape store.
Vape devices have evolved rapidly over the years. Today, a wide variety of vaping devices offer unique features, benefits, and experiences.
Here are the six most common types of vape devices you can find today:
Unlike other devices in this list, dry herb vapes don’t vaporize e-liquids. Instead, they heat herbs and plant matter to a specific temperature (below combustion) to extract the desired compounds in the vapor form.
Cannabis and tobacco are two popular herbs commonly used for dry vaping.
Key features:
Pros of a dry herb vaporizer:
Cons of dry herb vapes:
Ideal for:
Note: Some herbs used in a dry vaporizer, like cannabis, could be illegal in your state. Additionally, the use of cannabis vapes, cannabis oil, THC oil, and live resin may also be subject to specific legal regulations and restrictions.
A mod vape (aka box mod, vape mod, or mechanical mod) is a powerful vape device that uses large vape juice tanks, high power outputs, and high airflow to produce large vapor clouds. You can customize them to suit MTL or DTL vaping styles.
Mod vapes encompass a variety of options, including tube mods, regulated mods, and mechanical mods.
How do they differ?
Tube mods have a streamlined design and often offer a straightforward vaping experience. Regulated mods, on the other hand, offer adjustable power settings and safety features for a more versatile vaping experience. On the other hand, mechanical mods provide a direct, unregulated power output, appealing to experienced vapers.
So, if you’ve ever seen someone in public blowing massive clouds of vapor into the air while holding what looks like an early 2000s Nokia phone — you've witnessed a mechanical mod vape (possibly a Vandy Vape or Marvos T.)
Note: A mod vape is an advanced device and requires extensive knowledge of different components to be used properly. So it may only be suitable for any experienced vaper.
Key features:
Pros of mod vapes:
Cons of mod vapes:
Ideal for:
A pod mod is an MTL vaping device that offers the performance of a full-sized vape mod but stores its e-liquid in a pod instead of a traditional glass vape tank.
They’re available as both disposable and reusable devices. If reusable, they come with detachable and refillable e-liquid pods (pod system).
A pod device typically uses nicotine salt based e-liquids to deliver high doses of nicotine and flavor.
Pod mods are the most popular vape devices on the market, thanks to their unmatched convenience, low pricing, and high nicotine levels. Pod vapes are a go-to for most e cigarette users — old and new.
Key features:
Pros of pod mods:
Cons of pod mods:

Vape pens are pen-shaped vaping devices slightly larger than traditional e-cigarettes. Vape pens are sleek and discrete, allowing you to enjoy vaping at your discretion. A vape pen can accommodate both nicotine freebase and nicotine salt e-liquids.
They are also customizable, creating a fully personalized experience. The best vape pen is one built for your style of vaping, so try to customize your vape pen to suit your needs best.
You can also opt for a disposable vape pen — portable vaporizers with a pre filled cartridge — perfect for on-the-go use.

As the first generation of the modern electronic cigarette, "cig-alikes" were designed to resemble the look and feel of a regular cigarette as closely as possible. This is because manufacturers believed that this design would be more appealing to tobacco smokers — which it did.
Although cig-alikes are old news in 2023, you can still find some hidden in the shadows of your local tobacco or vape shop.
Their design is simple — a small internal battery, an atomizer (coil), and an e-liquid vape cartridge built into one (usually designed to look like a traditional cigarette filter.)
Key features:
Pros of cig-alike vapes:
Cons of cig-alike vapes:

Nicotine-free vapes provide all the features of the popular “pod mod” devices, with one additional benefit — they are nicotine-free!

Now, in case we missed something, let’s answer some common questions about vaping devices you may still have.
Here are the answers to some questions you might have:
Disposable vapes are the most common devices available — especially among young people. These portable vaporizers are affordable, widely available, and allow e cigarette users to try new flavors without commitment.
The average disposable vape can contain between 300 to 5000 puffs and vary in price accordingly.
Unfortunately, many disposable vapes contain nicotine, even if the label says they don't — so buying them from trusted suppliers is essential.
Generally, electronic cigarette manufacturers claim that 10-15 puffs from a vape equal one cigarette (the general number of puffs needed to finish a cigarette).
While this is a fairly accurate range, many factors — like the size of the draw you take — can influence this number. Since you can't "finish" a vape like a cigarette, it's essential to keep track of your puffs and not get carried away (aka "blind-puffing").
And remember — vaping is much safer on your lungs than smoking tobacco products (95%, to be precise) if done in moderation.
The safety requirements for a vaping device include visible instructions for correct use, handling, storage, refilling, recharging, and disposal of the product.
Additionally, your vaping device should provide information about the consequences of incorrect use and outline handling precautions you need to follow before and during their use.
The “best vape device” for you depends on your preference. But we can tell you that nicotine-free vapes are the safest vaping product options available. The standard of quality in vapes has also massively improved over the years.
But despite this, some low-quality vapes may still include harmful substances like diacetyl, which can cause severe adverse health conditions and side effects. Some side effects of low-quality e cigarette use include:
To name a few.
Luckily, some vape companies, like Cyclone Pods, have made it their mission to make vaping safer, non-addictive, and more accessible.
Different vaping products and devices on the market provide unique vaping experiences. Finding the best for you is up to your personal preference. But nicotine-free vapes are a no-brainer if safety is your main priority!
Cyclone Pods is a US-based vape company that has a range of high-quality vapes that are free from:
Cyclone Pods’ vapes give you peace of mind knowing that you can still enjoy vaping without exposing yourself to harmful chemicals.
So what are you waiting for?
Visit Cyclone Pods today to see how you can improve your quality of life and vaping experience with nicotine-free vapes!
But does vaping make you lose weight for real?
No, vaping doesn’t actively help you lose weight and should never be used as a weight loss supplement.
Nicotine in vape juice acts as an appetite suppressor and may prevent weight gain post smoking cessation, but it can also cause potential health risks, like lung damage and heart disease.
Whether you are a smoker trying to quit or a non-smoker who wants to try vaping, nicotine-free vapes are the safest option.
Let’s explore everything you need to know about vaping and weight loss and find out what happens to your weight when you quit nicotine.
We’ll also share 7 effective weight loss strategies for vapers and introduce you to safer vape alternatives. Then, we’ll answer some burning questions!

The answer to this question lies in how nicotine consumption impacts your body weight.
Nicotine is an addictive stimulant extracted from tobacco. This tobacco-derived nicotine is added to vaping liquids to give you that stimulating effect, just like traditional cigarettes.
To fully understand how vaping nicotine affects weight control, we must look at its effects on the human body, specifically how it affects your metabolism and appetite.
Metabolism is the process of changing food into energy. Several factors influence your metabolism, such as gender, age, body weight, level of physical activity, etc.
Unsurprisingly, your body’s metabolic function can significantly impact your weight.
If you have a high metabolic rate, your body uses energy more rapidly than someone with a slower metabolism. This means you burn more calories at rest and during activity, directly affecting your body weight.
That's why some people can eat more than others without gaining weight.
So, how does nicotine affect your metabolism?
The nicotine concentration in vaping liquids (and traditional cigarettes) speeds up your metabolism.
This increases your body’s calories during a resting state by about 7-15%. So, if you eliminate nicotine, your body may process food slower and burn calories slower, causing weight gain (more on this later!)
Ever passed on the snack table in favor of a few puffs from your vaping device?
There’s a reason for that.
Nicotine is known to suppress appetite. So, if you vape or smoke, you may find yourself snacking or eating less.
Additionally, nicotine can impair your taste buds and dull your senses, making food seem less appetizing and ultimately decreasing food intake.
That’s not all.
Besides suppressing your appetite, nicotine also suppresses the insulin levels in your blood, increasing your blood sugar levels (aka insulin resistance). This makes energy readily available in the blood to deliver where needed.
Did you know? E cigarette use is associated with a heightened risk of developing eating disorders among young adults. Those with a history of eating disorders may want to avoid vaping because of its appetite-curbing effects.
Now, you may be wondering…
The truth is, whether you use regular cigarettes or use an e cigarette product, you’re likely to gain weight once you quit smoking nicotine. There are a few reasons for this:
• Nicotine acts as a stimulant, raising your metabolic rate and speeding up the rate at which you burn calories. Eliminating nicotine reduces these metabolic spikes, slowing your body’s fat-burning rate.
• Eating can lead to dopamine release — just like smoking cigarettes. So ex-smokers often replace one with another, causing weight gain.
• After eliminating nicotine, your taste buds will return to their natural state. With the ability to enjoy flavors better, you might feel an increase in hunger and be tempted to eat more!
However, you can avoid some of these effects and control unwanted weight gain by switching to nicotine vaping after smoking cessation.
That said, nicotine vaping still has many potential health risks, like heart disease, lung damage, respiratory infections, etc.
Besides, it’s known to cause nicotine addiction in no time and create dependency, which could also affect your mental health. No wonder nicotine use is a public health concern.
If you’re purely using nicotine vaping for its appetite suppressing effects to lower your food intake, remember that the risks aren’t worth it.
Moreover, nicotine vapes can’t replace a balanced diet comprising healthy foods and physical activity when pursuing lower body weight.
Did you know?
According to a study published by the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, young adults commonly face body image concerns. They are more likely to switch to vaping to lower body weight. In contrast, adults turn to vaping as a nicotine replacement therapy.
Thankfully, there are much safer vaping options available.
Cyclone Pods is a California-based vaping brand that offers high-quality vaping products free from:
If you’re on the hunt for the ultimate vape companion, your search ends with the Surge Collection. This remarkable vape pen delivers an unparalleled vaping experience and takes a stance against the growing issue of e-waste.

The best part?
Flavored, no-nicotine vapes can satiate sugar cravings, so you won’t feel tempted to consume excess sugar. This can indirectly help regulate your weight.
Here are seven effective strategies to support your weight management goals while using vaping products:
1. Follow a Balanced Diet: Eating a well-balanced, nutritious diet aids in weight loss while supplying essential nutrients for optimal bodily function.
2. Exercise Regularly: Engaging in regular physical activity helps burn calories. To lose weight, you must burn more calories than you consumed.
3. Foster Sustainable Long-Term Habits: Developing healthy lifestyle habits can aid long-term weight loss and maintenance, surpassing temporary solutions or quick fixes.
4. Track Your Progress: A fitness device, like a smartwatch, can help track your progress. This way, you can stay on top of your goals and commitments.
5. Set Achievable Goals: To make your weight loss goal attainable and safe, break it down into manageable weekly or monthly steps.
6. Explore Additional Perks: Incorporating regular physical activity and a healthy eating routine can enhance your mood, boost energy levels, and provide opportunities for skill development and growth.
7. Get Sufficient Sleep: Sufficient and restful sleep can reduce food cravings and promote a balanced approach to food choices, helping with weight management.
Now let’s tackle some commonly asked questions about weight loss and vaping.
Below are answers to other questions you may have about electronic cigarette use and weight loss:
No, vaping itself doesn’t directly burn calories. But remember, nicotine increases your metabolism.
So, if you use nicotine vapes, you may experience a slight increase in your metabolic rate.
CBD, extracted from the cannabis plant, could aid weight loss among cannabis users because it affects the body, specifically the metabolism.
CBD can potentially convert white fat (aka “bad” fat) into brown fat, which could help your body burn more calories.
According to a 2022 study, CBD has an appetite curbing effect. This means cannabis users using CBD vape liquid in electronic cigarettes can potentially lose weight.
No, because, unlike CBD, THC is a natural appetite stimulant.
And that’s why vaping or smoking weed (THC-rich cannabis) is commonly associated with excess eating (the munchies.)
However, research suggests that individuals with a healthy body weight won’t experience much weight gain or loss when smoking weed.
Nothing.
Research suggests that nicotine itself doesn’t impact hunger in fasting subjects. However, they did report a lower craving for a tobacco cigarette.
And don’t worry – it’s perfectly fine to use your electronic cigarette while fasting. Although vape juice contains calories, you consume less than five calories per 1ml, which won’t negatively impact your weight loss goals or usual calorie intake.
Research shows that stopping tobacco smoking using nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) can lower weight gain risk.
These alternative NRT aids include:
Did you know?
According to the Centers for Disease Control, an electronic cigarette is less harmful than cigarette smoking. Cigarette smoke releases tar and carbon monoxide and contains a deadly mix of 7,000 chemicals.
When you have nicotine addiction or dependency and stop using it, your body and brain go through withdrawal symptoms.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, these symptoms include:
Most of these symptoms relate to your mental health, as kicking the habit can be extremely difficult for most people.
While nicotine vaping may suppress your appetite, it doesn’t actively influence weight loss. So, vaping nicotine solely to lose weight might not be the best way to do it.
But if you’re turning to nicotine vaping to halt the possible weight gain brought on by giving up traditional cigarette smoking, we have a silver bullet for you!
Head to Cyclone Pods and discover their range of nicotine-free vape products and say goodbye to harmful ingredients and dangerous health risks.
Dry herb vaping is safer than conventional smoking since it exposes you to fewer harmful chemicals.
But is dry herb vaping safe in general?
In the big picture — No. Some herbs can expose you to harmful and addictive substances like nicotine and THC, which pose serious health risks.
Let’s explore the pros, cons, and potential side effects of dry vaping devices and find answers to other questions you may have.
We’ll also introduce you to a safer alternative to dry herb vaping - nicotine-free vapes from Cyclone Pods.

Dry herb vaping is when you directly vaporize and inhale plant matter instead of traditional e-liquids and vape juices. The plant matter could be anything from dried leaves and flowers to bark shavings and seeds.
You can do this using a dry herb vaporizer (aka cannabis vaporizers). These devices need three essential elements for vaporizing herbs — power, heat, and airflow.
Dry herb vaporizers can be either fixed or portable vaporizers:
Dry herb vaporizers use either conduction or convection heating to vaporize the herb. Both methods produce the same outcome — heating herbs at a temperature much lower than combustion (lower than 446°F or 230°C).
Note: Different herbs have different combustion temperatures. It’s crucial to set the heating element to the right temperature for the herb you're using.
This means when you use dry vaping devices, you’re not burning the plant material but just heating it enough to generate vapor (not smoke!).
How is it better?
When you slowly heat the herb to a specific temperature, it releases beneficial or stimulating compounds (like cannabinoid and terpene compounds) as vapor. But when herbs are burned, many of these compounds are destroyed — or produce weakened effects.
Besides, burning some herbs may release harmful byproducts like carbon monoxide, harming the user and the people around them.
While there’s no limit to the herbs you can use in a portable dry herb vaporizer, there are certainly a few fan favorites that steal the spotlight.
Some popular herbs used in dry herb vaporizers include:
Note: A dry herb portable vaporizer doesn’t use any liquids, oils, or waxes. This is because these devices can’t reach the temperatures required to vaporize these mediums.
Now you may be wondering…
While dry vaping is a safer alternative to conventionally smoking herbs, it’s not entirely risk-free.
The most popular herbs used in dry herb vaporizers – tobacco and cannabis flower – expose you to harmful and addictive intoxicants like nicotine and THC, respectively.
But before we dive deeper into their risks, let's not ignore the benefits of dry herb vaporization over smoking.
When you smoke tobacco or marijuana, you inhale many harmful byproducts in addition to active compounds like nicotine and THC.
Smoking cannabis or tobacco has been shown to release many toxic chemicals, such as:
Many of these compounds are carcinogenic and can severely affect your respiratory system when inhaled. But you can largely avoid the risks by vaping marijuana using a dry herb vape pen.
Since there’s no burning involved with a dry herb vape, there’s a significantly lower chance of inhaling harmful compounds like the ones mentioned above.
But that’s not all.
An NCBI study shows that dry vaping cannabis is a safer and more effective mode of THC delivery than smoking cannabis. This is because most dry herb vape devices have a temperature control feature that helps extract THC more effectively.
This feature on dry herb vapes allows you to set the optimum temperature to extract the beneficial compounds from the herb.
While there are benefits to using a dry herb vaporizer, the risks of using them are just as substantial.
Here are some potential risk factors associated with dry herb vape pen use.
Nicotine is a highly addictive stimulant commonly found in tobacco products like cigarettes. It keeps you hooked on tobacco products, which contain other hazardous chemicals.
But here's the kicker.
Nicotine has adverse side effects of its own — which can’t be avoided through dry herb vaping.
Side effects of nicotine include:
To name a few.
Nicotine can stay in your body for up to eight hours, depending on intake levels. After this, withdrawal symptoms, such as cravings, headaches, mood swings, and increased hunger, will kick in.
Cannabis contains THC — a highly addictive psychoactive compound. Cannabis smoke gives you an intoxicating ‘high’ — the reason behind the growing rates of cannabis consumption, especially among young adults.
Unfortunately, cannabis consumption (THC) is linked to many potential health risks.
THC can:
Important: Any cannabis product (like cannabis vaporizers) containing THC is illegal in many states of the US. A cannabis product containing THC is classified as a schedule one drug — except for medicinal cannabis.
Herbs may also be exposed to harmful chemicals during cultivation. Some of these substances are carcinogens and can cause long-term toxicity.
Chemicals you risk exposure to from tobacco or cannabis smoke include:
These chemicals get absorbed by the plants while they grow, which may have severe effects on your health if ingested!
So is there a safer way to vape?
Sure there is.

Now, let’s tackle other common questions about dry vaping.
Here are the answers to other questions you may have about dry herb vaping:
No, dry herb vaping isn't the same as regular vaping.
While a dry herb vaporizer directly vaporizes plant material, regular vapes extract vapor from an e-liquid blend. E-liquids are made using a mixture of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine — with added flavoring and nicotine.
It all depends on your personal preference. Dry herb vaporizers produce a smoother feeling on the throat than vape pen with oil cartridges (aka cannabis concentrate.) They also allow you to experience a broader spectrum of cannabis plant compounds.
However, cannabis concentrate cartridges offer more convenience, shorter prep times, and less maintenance than dry herb vapes.
Yes, dry herb vaping is more potent than smoking herbs.
With built-in temperature control and filtration system, a dry herb vaporizer allows you to extract more compounds from your herb than burning them.
The two main types of dry herb vaporizers are a convection vaporizer and a conduction vaporizer. The difference between conduction and convection vapes is their method of heating herbs.
A conduction vaporizer uses a heating element (like a hot plate) to vaporize herbs. Whereas a convection vaporizer uses hot air generated from a heating element to do the same job.
Desktop vaporizers commonly use convection heating, while portable dry herb vapes (like the DaVinci IQ2 and Firefly 2) use compact conduction heating.
A dry herb vaporizer offers the luxury of inhaling fewer dangerous chemicals than smoking. But they still expose you to other harmful and addictive chemicals — like nicotine and THC from dry vaping cannabis and tobacco.
Instead, you can use THC and nicotine-free products to enjoy your vaping sessions worry-free. Taking the precautions to expose yourself to as few chemicals as possible when vaping ensures you get the most out of your vaping experience.

Wondering if those “healthy, nicotine-free aromatherapy devices” that use essential oils are really safe to vape?
Short answer: No, essential oils can break down into abnormal compounds at high temperatures, which can cause severe side effects when inhaled. And vaping devices typically operate at temperatures higher than the flashpoints of most essential oils.
Let’s uncover what essential oil vaping entails, the potential health risks, and whether essential oils are safe to vape at lower temperatures.
We’ll also introduce you to safer, no-nicotine vaping products for stress-free enjoyment.

Essential oil vaping is a relatively new trend that involves replacing regular e-liquids with essential oils.
You can vape essential oils using a specialized device known as an essential oil vape pen.
But first: what are essential oils?
Essential oils are concentrated extracts of beneficial plants typically used for aromatherapy benefits and to treat many ailments. An oil is “essential” as it contains the essence of a plant’s scent.
Some popular essential oils include peppermint oil and tea tree oil. When diluted with a carrier oil and applied to the skin, tea tree oil can help treat acne and athlete's foot.
Essential oils are made by steam distilling or cold pressing different parts of the plant (flowers, leaves, bark, fruit, etc.,) which extracts the beneficial compounds. Sometimes, manufacturers may also use a dry herb, like rosemary, to make the oil.
Since they are plant extracts, essential oils usually contain aromatic hydrocarbon compounds like terpenes and flavonoids.
Did you know? Terpenes in plants create unique flavors and aromas. These chemical compounds give captivating scents to fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers.
Now you may be wondering…
An essential oil vape pen, also known as a personal diffuser, diffuser stick, or aromatherapy vape pen, usually contains a blend of:
Once heated in the vaping device, this liquid mixture turns into an inhalable aromatherapy vapor. Essentially, an aromatherapy vape pen works like any regular vaping device or e-cigarette.
Here are some essential oils frequently used in vape pens:
Did you know? Lavender essential oil can lessen anxiety and improve your mood.
The good part is essential oil vaping devices don’t contain nicotine.
With beneficial essential oils and zero nicotine, it’s no wonder that manufacturers market aroma vape pens as a safe alternative to an e-cigarette.
Some companies take it a step further and make tall claims of essential oil vaping being therapeutic (with anti anxiety properties) and nutritional.
And while taking vitamins traditionally offers many benefits, there’s no evidence to suggest vaping vitamins provide the same benefit.
You’ll commonly see tags like “vitamin-infused vaporizer” and “dietary supplement” on aroma vapes. These products are usually fortified with vitamins and other ingredients like melatonin, ginseng, caffeine, and CBD oil.
But the truth is: There’s hardly any science-backed data to back this up.
On the contrary, studies suggest that vaping essential oils can lead to serious side effects.
Most essential oils could pose serious health risks when vaped.
How?
Essential oils can produce volatile organic compounds (VOCs) when heated over 150° to 180° Fahrenheit (65.5° to 82° Celcius). They may also release carbon monoxide and other harmful gases at high temperatures.
Now, the general temperature range for a vaporizer is 392-482° Fahrenheit (200-250° Celcius) — which is higher than the flashpoints of most essential oils.
And what do health experts think?
According to Dr Susan Chiarito – a Mississippi-based family physician – inhaling VOCs and other abnormal compounds via essential oil vaping can damage your mouth, nose, teeth, and lungs.
But here’s the kicker:
Dr Susan Chiarito claims that long-term use of aroma vapes can be as damaging to your lungs as other inhalable products, such as regular vapes. These symptoms include chronic bronchitis and recurring infections of the lungs.
And it gets worse.
As per a 2016 Surgeon General report, ingesting high levels of a volatile organic compound can even be fatal.
Having said that, you can safely vape certain heat-stable and pure essential oil via a low-heat device (but that’s a tall ask, as we’ll see later!)
Note: Some no-nicotine vape pens or e-cigarettes may contain essential oils. Always check out the ingredient label to know exactly what you’re inhaling!
Here are a few possible side effects you may encounter when vaping essential oils:
And that’s not all…
Some vape pens may contain non-organic essential oils laced with harmful substances like pesticides and heavy metals — increasing the risk of high blood pressure, long-term toxicity, and many other health risks.
But look:
Not all essential oils are made the same.
Some heat-stable essential oils can withstand higher temperatures without breaking into toxic chemicals.
Such essential oils turn to a volatile organic compound at much higher temperatures and should be safe to vape, provided they’re not mixed with other harmful additives, like diacetyl and vitamin E acetate.
Did you know? According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), vitamin E acetate (a popular carrier oil) is linked to the outbreak of EVALI.
Now you may be wondering: Is it safe to vape essential oils at lower temperatures?
Let’s find out.
In theory, yes. You can safely vape certain essential oils at lower temperatures, but only if they are:
That being said…
Most commercial aromatherapy vapor devices do not meet the above criteria, making them unsafe.
Luckily, there are ways to enjoy your vaping experience without the risk of harmful ingredients.
High-quality nicotine-free vape products eliminate the health risks associated with nicotine and other harmful chemicals like essential oils in regular vapes.

Now:
We’ve seen that vaping essential oils come with a fair share of risks. But you may still have some questions about it. Let’s tackle those.
Here are the answers to some other concerns you may have regarding vaping essential oils.
When it comes to the actual vaping experience, vaping essential oils may provide a more aromatic experience than regular nicotine vapes.
Besides, nicotine is highly addictive, and vaping may lead to dependency in no time. That’s a risk you don’t have to worry about when vaping essential oils.
What about the safety aspect?
As discussed above, vaping essential oils could be extremely dangerous, just like vaping nicotine, especially if you don’t know what the vape pen contains.
Did you know? Neither e-cigarettes nor essential oil vaping pens are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a smoking cessation aid.
To prioritize safety and enhance your vaping experience, follow these essential measures.
Essential oils, in general, offer a range of health benefits, including aromatherapy uses. But there are no conclusive studies to show if vaping them is beneficial.
Moreover, the potential health risks of vaping essential oils could outweigh their benefits.
Yes! Here are a few ways to safely relax with your favorite essential oil:
You can also apply a few drops of pure essential oil to your shower walls and inhale as you shower. Or dilute a few drops with a carrier oil (coconut oil, olive oil, etc.) and use it as a massage oil.
You may be wondering:
Is diffusing essential oils safe for your lungs?
While inhaling diffused essential oils is generally safe, it's important to note that some may experience asthma attacks or develop pneumonitis, a severe lung infection. However, when used externally and in low concentrations, essential oils are generally safe. These include tea tree oil, peppermint essential oil, and more.
Ideally, it’s recommended to use diffusers in a well-ventilated area and limit usage to 15 minutes per hour.
You can vape essential oils with cannabis oil products like hemp oil and CBD oil.
But remember, vaping essential oils can cause respiratory issues. Besides, mixing essential oils and CBD oil could increase the risk of lung irritation.
However, if you must vape them together, the best essential oils are lavender oil, lemon, and eucalyptus.
Keep in mind that while CBD oil is derived from cannabis, it does not contain THC, the psychoactive component found in marijuana or THC oil.
Note: Cannabis oil and other products with THC may not be legal in your state (USA). So, check the local laws and regulations around using and possessing marijuana based products in your area.
Essential oils are a great way to enjoy the pleasures of aromatherapy, be it through a personal diffuser, like a diffuser stick, or a humidifier.
But vaping essential oils may lead to harmful side effects.
Instead, opt for nicotine-free vaping products that are free from dangerous additives.
Why?
Because vaping is only as safe as the quality of the product you choose!
Head to Cyclone Pods to discover their wide range of high-quality, no-nicotine products. Not only do they provide a safe and pleasurable experience, but they can also be used to curb your nicotine cravings!
