Forgoing nicotine in our vape juice blends is obviously done with the primary focus of eliminating harmful additives so that vapers who love cloud chasing can continue to do so with less of a concern for the potentially harmful effects of nicotine.
The other reason has to do with cloud chasing itself. You see, nicotine is a chemical additive that takes up physical space in vape juice. The more nicotine is in the blend, the less space there is for everything else.
That is, not including nicotine in our vape juice blends means there’s so much more room for natural and artificial flavors - along with VG and PG, or vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol, respectively.
These latter two ingredients are the components that carry the flavor and which vaporize when heated - creating the clouds that cloud chasers love.
The less nicotine we use in a blend (which, in our case, is none) the more room there is for these ingredients, and that means bigger, bolder, billowing clouds.
What Is PG?
The first “cloud-forming” ingredient you need to know about is PG, or propylene glycol, which is a thin, slightly viscous, colorless, odorless liquid that is used as a carrier for nicotine and flavoring in regular vapes (just flavoring, in the case of our 0 nicotine vape products).
PG vaporizes when heated, such as on contact with the heating element of a vape’s coil, producing a cloud of vapor. PG produces thinner clouds than VG, and is also responsible for delivering a slightly harsher throat hit and more intense vaping experience.
Because it produces thinner clouds than VG, some vapers prefer it for its discretion and for the power of the hit, but what you also need to know is that PG carries flavor more effectively than VG. Higher PG blends tend to taste more potent than higher VG blends, all things being equal.
What Is VG?
Like PG, VG, or vegetable glycerin, is a colorless liquid that is used to carry flavoring agents, and in nicotine e-juices, the nicotine as well.
Also like PG, VG vaporizes on contact with heat. However, VG has some pronounced differences from PG. For one, though it is colorless and odorless, it is not exactly flavorless. VG has a slightly sweet flavor, which is a bonus, considering the fact that it is not as effective at carrying flavors as PG.
Another thing you need to know about VG which differentiates it from PG is that it produces a much smoother vaping experience than PG, which produces a powerful, rougher throat hit. Though VG is not as efficient a carrier of flavor, it produces a smooth, enjoyable, slightly sweet hit,
There is another gigantic benefit of high-VG vaping, especially for cloud chasers. Unlike PG, which produces thin, evanescent, fleeting clouds of vapor, VG produces massive, thick, clouds so dense you sometimes can’t even see through them.
Because of this, high-VG blends are perfect for cloud chasers because a relatively small amount of VG will produce dense, intense clouds of vapor.
