Two vape devices comparison — Cyclone Pods vs ARRØ

Cyclone Pods vs ARRØ: The Ultimate Nicotine-Free Vape Showdown

Updated: Conrad Kurth 8 min read

Cyclone Pods and ARRO are two of the biggest nicotine-free vape brands in the US, but they differ on one thing that matters more than puff counts or flavor names: whether you can verify what you're inhaling. Cyclone Pods publishes batch-level lab results from an ISO 17025 accredited lab. ARRO, operated by parent company MELO Labs, Inc. (which also makes HELO), does not publish third-party lab testing. Both sell zero-nicotine, USB-C rechargeable vapes with VG/PG-based e-liquid. Everything else is detail.

We've been making nicotine-free vapes since 2018 out of Santa Monica. This isn't a neutral review -- we sell one of these brands. But we'll give ARRO credit where it's earned, call out where we fall short, and let the specs speak. You deserve real data, not marketing.

Lab Testing and Ingredient Transparency

Both brands use the same base ingredients: vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol, and flavorings. Both claim zero nicotine, zero diacetyl, zero vitamin E acetate. The difference is proof.

Cyclone Pods publishes batch-level results from Legend Technical Services in St. Paul, MN. Legend is ISO 17025 accredited -- the international standard for testing lab competence. The method is LC-MS/MS (liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry) with a detection limit of 0.063 ug/g. Work Order #2503988 is on file. You can review the full results on our lab testing transparency page.

ARRO states their products are "free of harmful chemicals" and lists their ingredients as VG, PG, and natural flavors. Their website does not publish a Certificate of Analysis, name a testing laboratory, or link to third-party documentation. That doesn't mean their products are unsafe. It means you're trusting their marketing copy rather than independent verification.

Why does this matter? The FDA does not currently require pre-market approval for nicotine-free vapes. No federal agency is testing these products before they reach you. The only verification available is what the brand itself commissions and publishes. When a company names its lab, shares its method, and posts the Certificate of Analysis, you can evaluate the data yourself. When a company doesn't, you're relying on their word alone.

In an unregulated category where any brand can claim purity, lab testing is the mechanism that turns a claim into a fact. We wrote more about why this matters in our safest vapes ranking.

Device Quality and Features

The two brands build very different hardware. Cyclone Pods devices are feature-dense. ARRO devices are simple. Neither approach is wrong -- it depends what you want.

Cyclone Pods Devices

The Gust Pro is our flagship disposable: 20,000 puffs, 14 flavors, $20. It has a screen display showing battery and liquid levels, four adjustable ice/cooling settings, a turbo mode for stronger hits, and USB-C charging. The ceramic coil is designed to minimize heavy metal exposure in the vapor path.

Cyclone Pods Gust Pro BlueRazz -- nicotine-free <a href=disposable vape with screen display, 20,000 puffs" loading="lazy" width="600" height="600">
Gust Pro BlueRazz: 20,000 puffs, USB-C rechargeable, screen display, 4 ice settings, turbo mode. $20.

The Lightning is a refillable pod system. The starter kit is $20; individual pods are $14 each with 10,000 puffs per pod and 13 flavor options. Magnetic pod connection, turbo button, LED screen. Same lab-tested e-liquid as the Gust Pro. The pod system works well if you want to switch flavors without carrying multiple devices -- keep the battery, swap the pod.

ARRO Devices

ARRO's lineup is disposable-only across three tiers. The Infiniti (40,000 puffs, ~$25) is their flagship -- that puff count is genuinely double what the Gust Pro offers. The Ultra (15,000 puffs, ~$20) has the widest flavor selection. The Max (5,000 puffs, ~$16) is their entry point. All are draw-activated with USB-C charging, no screen, no adjustable settings, no buttons.

That simplicity is a legitimate feature. Draw-activated means zero learning curve -- unwrap and inhale. Some people prefer that to a screen and buttons.

Flavor Selection and Taste

Cyclone Pods offers 14 Gust Pro flavors: BlueRazz, Cherry Blast, Kiwi Passionfruit, Lush Ice, Lychee Aloe, Mango Peach Fusion, Menthol, Miami Mint, Mint, Pink Lemonade, Pina Colada, Sour Green Apple, Summer Grape, and Watermelon Raspberry. The Lightning pod system adds 13 more, including crossover options like Coffee, Cinnamon Churro, Bold Tobacco, and Vanilla that you won't find from ARRO.

ARRO leans into creative naming: Cosmic Berry, Rowdy Rancher, Heaven, Baja Berry, Bubba Gum, Jolly Blue Razz. Their Ultra line has the most variety. Several flavors and the entire Max line are frequently out of stock, which could signal either high demand or supply issues.

Different styles. Cyclone Pods covers more range (dessert, tobacco, coffee flavors alongside fruit/mint). ARRO's flavor profile is heavier on candy and fruit with more playful branding. Neither brand clearly wins here -- it's preference.

Price and Value

Raw cost per puff:

Device Price Puffs Cost Per Puff
ARRO Infiniti ~$25 40,000 $0.000625
Cyclone Pods Gust Pro $20 20,000 $0.001
ARRO Ultra ~$20 15,000 $0.00133
Cyclone Pods Lightning (pod) $14 10,000 $0.0014

On pure price-per-puff math, the ARRO Infiniti wins. The Gust Pro and ARRO Ultra are in the same ballpark. The Lightning pod costs more per puff but offers something the others don't: you keep the $20 battery indefinitely and only replace the $14 pod, which reduces long-term waste and cost if you stick with the system.

Value is more than cost-per-puff, though. The Gust Pro's $20 buys you a screen display, turbo mode, four ice settings, and lab-verified ingredients. The Infiniti's ~$25 buys you raw puff volume. Both are reasonable trades depending on what you prioritize.

What ARRO Does Well

  • Puff count leadership. 40,000 puffs on the Infiniti is the highest in the nicotine-free category. We can't match it. If device longevity is your top priority, ARRO wins outright.
  • Simplicity. Draw-activated, no buttons, no settings, no screen to read. Unwrap and use. For people who want zero friction, this is a real advantage.
  • Clean ingredient list. VG, PG, natural flavors, no nicotine, no diacetyl, no vitamin E acetate. The ingredients themselves are standard and reasonable -- our concern is verification, not the claimed formula.
  • Competitive per-puff pricing. The Infiniti's cost per puff is the lowest in this comparison by a meaningful margin.
  • Playful branding. Flavor names like Cosmic Berry and Rowdy Rancher resonate with consumers who want their vape to feel fun, not clinical.

What Cyclone Pods Does Well

  • Published lab testing. ISO 17025 accredited lab, LC-MS/MS method, 0.063 ug/g detection limit, named facility (Legend Technical Services). This is the single biggest differentiator. See the full results.
  • Device features. Screen display, turbo mode, four ice settings on the Gust Pro. Turbo button and LED screen on the Lightning. More hardware for your money.
  • Product range beyond vapes. The Lightning pod system gives you a refillable option. caffeine pouches offer a non-inhalation alternative with ashwagandha, lion's mane, reishi, cordyceps, bacopa monnieri, and 50mg caffeine from guarana -- $9.99 for 20 pouches.
  • Flavor breadth. 27 total flavors across two device lines, including categories ARRO doesn't cover: coffee, tobacco, cinnamon churro, vanilla.
  • Track record and availability. Founded 2018 in Santa Monica. 8 years in market. Available online and in retail stores nationwide -- not just direct-to-consumer.

Which Should You Choose?

Choose ARRO if:

  • Maximum puff count per device is your priority (40,000 on the Infiniti)
  • You prefer draw-activated simplicity with no buttons, screen, or settings
  • Lowest cost per puff matters more than device features
  • You don't need to review third-party lab documentation before buying

Choose Cyclone Pods if:

  • Lab-verified ingredients matter to you -- you want to see the Certificate of Analysis, not just marketing claims
  • You want device features: adjustable ice settings, turbo mode, screen display
  • You want options beyond disposables -- a refillable pod system or non-inhalation pouches
  • You value a brand with 8 years of track record, retail store presence, and named lab partnerships

If you're choosing between brands because you're quitting nicotine, both serve the same core purpose: replacing the hand-to-mouth ritual while your body detoxes from the chemical dependency. Neither contains nicotine, so neither satisfies a nicotine craving. That's the point. The most effective quit approaches combine behavioral tools like these with NRT (patches, gum, lozenges) or prescription medication.

We hear from people mid-quit constantly. The most common feedback: flavor and vapor production matter more than you'd expect. When a nicotine-free vape is your replacement ritual, it needs to feel satisfying enough that you don't reach for the nicotine version. Both brands deliver on that front. The choice comes down to whether you prioritize verified ingredients and device features (Cyclone Pods) or maximum puff count and simplicity (ARRO).

Cyclone Pods Lightning Mint starter kit -- nicotine-free pod system, 10,000 puffs per pod, LED screen
Lightning Mint starter kit: refillable pods, 10,000 puffs each, 13 flavors. $20 for the kit, $14 per pod.

For a non-inhalation alternative, our caffeine pouches skip vaping entirely. Ashwagandha, lion's mane, reishi, cordyceps, bacopa monnieri, and 50mg caffeine from guarana, absorbed through the gum. $9.99 for 20 pouches. Different mechanism, same goal: something to do with your mouth that isn't a cigarette.
