We checked eight brands against their own websites on October 20, 2026 and compared caffeine per pouch, active ingredients, price per pouch and whether any lab results are published.

"Not printed" means the brand sells by the can or roll and doesn't state how many pouches are inside, so we can't honestly divide. Prices are list prices on each brand's site before subscriptions or bundles.
Caffeine and Nootropic Pouches
1. Cyclone Pods Focus Pouches
This is our pouch, so weigh the ranking accordingly. Focus Pouches are a dietary supplement: guarana for 50 mg caffeine per pouch (label), plus a 400 mg blend of phosphatidylserine (from soy), ashwagandha, reishi, lion's mane, cordyceps and bacopa monnieri. No nicotine, no tobacco.
The reason it sits first is the paperwork. We publish our certificate of analysis from Certified Laboratories (Burbank, CA): it measured 39–48 mg caffeine per pouch across the four flavors against the 50 mg label. Heavy-metal, pesticide and solvent results are on the same Focus Pouches lab testing page. We found no posted lab results on the other seven brands' sites.
- Flavors: Cinnamon, Peach, Mint, Wintergreen
- Price: $9.99 per tin of 20 ($0.50 a pouch)
- Use: one pouch between gum and cheek for 20–30 minutes; no more than 6 a day
- Downside: it has caffeine, so it's not for anyone avoiding stimulants, and four flavors is fewer than most brands here

2. NZE
NZE runs two nicotine-free lines. The Energy line has 50 mg caffeine per pouch with L-theanine, Alpha GPC and L-tyrosine, in eight flavors. NZE Focus drops the caffeine and keeps the same three nootropics, in seven flavors. Both sell at $34.99 for a five-can pack on nzepouches.com; the product pages don't print a pouch count.
- Good for: people who want a caffeine-free nootropic pouch (Focus) or L-theanine alongside caffeine (Energy)
- Downside: no per-ingredient doses beyond caffeine on the product page we checked
3. Grinds
Grinds started with pouches of real ground coffee, sold at 25 to 100 mg caffeine per pouch depending on flavor. Its Energy pouches have 80 mg caffeine and about 18 pouches a can ($7.95 a can). The newer Grinds Focus line is caffeine-free, with 40 mg Alpha GPC and 40 mg L-theanine per pouch. Our Grinds coffee pouches review covers taste and staining.
- Good for: coffee drinkers, and anyone who wants to pick a caffeine dose
- Downside: coffee pouches can stain teeth with long use
Stimulant-Free Pouches
4. Black Buffalo ZERO
Black Buffalo is a leaf-based dip alternative. Its regular pouches contain nicotine; only the ZERO line is nicotine-free: "barn cured leafy greens and food-grade ingredients," per the product page, with no caffeine listed. It's the closest thing here to the feel of a dip pouch with nothing active in it.
- Flavors: Straight, Mint, Wintergreen, Peach, Blood Orange
- Price: $27.45 for a five-can roll; no pouch count printed
- Watch out: buy the ZERO line specifically; the rest of the Black Buffalo range has nicotine
5. SMKY MTN
SMKY MTN (Smokey Mountain) sells two pouch lines, and only one fits this section. ZERO Herbal Pouches are "100% Nicotine-Free," "100% Tobacco-Free" and "Completely Caffeine-Free," in Wintergreen and Arctic Mint. The product page doesn't list the herbal base or a pouch count. The separate caffeine pouches add "~50 mg of natural caffeine" from green tea extract, at 18 pouches a can.
Price is where SMKY MTN wins. The caffeine pouches come ten cans for $46.95, about $0.26 a pouch, the lowest per-pouch price we found. The catch is that you buy ten cans at a time; ZERO Herbal is the same $46.95 listing.
Paraxanthine Pouches
6. Ultra Focus
Ultra Focus pouches are nicotine-free and caffeine-free. In place of caffeine they use Enfinity paraxanthine, the compound your liver turns most caffeine into. The product page doesn't print a paraxanthine dose. Ultra also sells an Energy pouch with 180 mg caffeine, so check which can you're buying. Both run $48 for three cans ($16 a can).
At $16 a can it's the most expensive can on this list, and without a printed dose you can't compare it to a caffeine pouch milligram for milligram.
Herbal and Mushroom Pouches
7. TeaZa
TeaZa makes tea-based pouches in two lines. Energy pouches carry "50mg of natural caffeine from green tea and yerba mate." Chill pouches are nicotine-free and caffeine-free. A 25-count bag is $9.99, which works out to $0.40 a pouch, second-cheapest here after SMKY MTN.
- Flavors: Energy: Tropical, Dark Roast, Spicy Cinnamon, Power Mint, Wintergreen, Bangin' Black Cherry. Chill: Cherry, Creamsicle, Cool Mint, Wintergreen
- Downside: the site names the tea sources but not a full ingredient list on every product
8. Flow
Flow is a mushroom pouch with no nicotine and, per Flow, no caffeine. Its Supplement Facts list, per 5-pouch serving, lion's mane 235 mg, reishi 120 mg and cordyceps 120 mg (10:1 extracts), vitamin B12 30 mcg and 25 mg TeaCrine, a theacrine ingredient related to caffeine. Cans hold 20 pouches at $20, so $1.00 a pouch, sold only on flowpouch.com. Flow says it is third-party tested but doesn't name the lab or post results. - Downside: twice the per-pouch price of most caffeine pouches
Are Nicotine-Free Pouches Safe?
They remove nicotine dependence, but they aren't risk-free. Caffeine pouches count toward the FDA's 400 mg a day guideline for healthy adults, and six 50 mg pouches is already 300 mg before any coffee. Sweeteners and pouch fibers can irritate the spot where the pouch sits. Pick brands that print their caffeine dose and publish lab results.
Do Nicotine-Free Pouches Affect Your Gums?
Nobody knows yet, because no long-term study has looked at gum health in nicotine-free pouch users. What we do know is that any pouch sits against the same patch of gum for 20 to 30 minutes, which is where irritation would show first. Switch sides, take days off, and stop if the spot turns sore or white.
Does ZYN Make a 0 Nicotine Pouch?
No. ZYN's US site lists strengths of 1.5, 3, 6, 9 and 11 mg nicotine per pouch, with nothing at 0 mg, and no caffeine or energy pouch either (checked October 20, 2026). If you want the ZYN format without nicotine, you need another brand, such as the eight in the table above.
What Is the Best Alternative to Nicotine Pouches?
If you're quitting nicotine, the alternatives with evidence behind them are FDA-approved nicotine replacement (patch, gum, lozenge) and prescription quit medicines, ideally with a doctor or 1-800-QUIT-NOW.
